I did not have a good experience with Katie. We had a miscommunication of some sort and I called and texted her to get it straightened out but she would not respond back to me. Child like behavior. So rude!

I needed help and it was the hardest call I’ve ever made, to admit that I needed help. They were so kind and compassionate when I called. The woman I spoke with in the intake department really made me feel at ease and comfortable. Then, a licensed therapist called me to match me with a therapist that would be the best fit for me. I got seen within a week. All the other places I called were scheduling 3-6 weeks out. I met with my therapist and she was AWESOME. I can’t tell you how great my experience has been. I moved to Duluth from out of town last year. I arrived here for a new job having moved across the country. I've had an amazing experience with my therapist Katie Erickson. I find it dubious that so many people make reviews under anonymous names and/or initials.... I cannot say enough about how much Katie has helped me. I have worked with a handful of therapists over the years and she has by far helped me and understood me the most. I would recommended the DCC and Katie to any of my friends or family. I could not be happier with a group of folks that are so compassionate, empathetic and kind. Struggling with an ill and aging husband, feeling isolated and needing a shoulder to lean on, both Katie and Lisa have been there for me. Nothing worse than watching someone you love so deeply go through what my husband is going through, has been painful to say the least. Having Duluth Counseling Center in my corner has saved me.I recommend them to anyone who is struggling. They have been there for me. More...

Overall ive had a good experience. I did get charged for a session because i hadnt known my insurence wasnt active. At my old counseling place in the twin cities they would check the status of the health insurance and tell me if i had coverage or not before my session. Im not sure if this was an accident on the receptionist part or if i was wrong. If i would have know my insurence wasnt active i wouldnt have continued with my appointment. More...

I had a appointment scheduled, when I was waiting for my appointment another couple showed up (they were scheduled at the same time as me, with the same person by accident) I was asked if I wanted to wait an hour until they were done, that didn't work with my schedule. if I were to call and cancel less than 24 hours ahead of time, I would have had to pay a fee of 100 dollars. I feel like I should have l had a charge removed for that situation. Otherwise I would highly recommend this business. More...

I had only the best experience at the Duluth Counseling Center with my son who suffers from anxiety. I am taken back by the reviews. Most notability the gal who is upset about her bill. I do not pay my co-pays as my ex husband does, but I would never take his visitation away or blame the counselors who are doing mediation for you. I have personally talked with three of the counselors and the owner, Katie and feel that they do a great service to their clients and hope that others understand what a DIFFICULT task it must be to service such a wide variety of clients, especially those who other mental health issues. As any clinic should they are trying to do what clinics do. Read policies and you will find copays are due at the time of service. Do you homework and know what your Insurance deductibles, Copays and Coinsurance responsibilities are. It is not up to any Clinic to do this for you. It is the Patients responsibility to know this.
