One year after being a foster and supporter of DHRA, I feel compelled to leave an additional review. This volunteer organization cares tremendously about their rescues. DHRA carefully selects fosters and potential adopters to make sure they are the correct fit for each and every dog. They are relentless in their efforts to save every possible pup using DHRA resources, and their own personal resources. Everyone at DHRA have been nothing but amazing! Coming up on one year since I’ve gotten my pups, (not 1, but 2 - brothers! ) and they are always there for support! Everyone we met at Doghouse Rescue Academy has been professional, honest, caring & compassionate. As a foster, it's hard to say goodbye to the pups we fall in love with so I sincerely appreciate the thorough screening process for applicants. A lot of time, care & attention goes into each & every rescue from start to finish. Everyone is awesome & always calls/texts us back quickly if we have any questions at all. Morgan & Justin helped us get our first foster puppy & were by our sides for several hours the first night to make sure we were all comfortable & had a chance to ask our questions. They stayed in touch & built genuine relationships with us. I am happy to know them all. They are great people & animal lovers. We had to say goodbye to our foster pup for unforseen health related issues that led to her being put to sleep recently. Carey gave immediate authorization to proceed with vetinary care ASAP, communicated with us throughout the night, first thing in the morning & came to be by our sides when the time came to end her suffering. My love for our sweet foster pup Karen is exponentially more because of the relationships formed with everyone at Doghouse Rescue Academy throughout our short foster. I confidently & highly recommend Doghouse Rescue Academy for dogs needing to be rescued as well as to kind hearted, animal loving families willing to open their hearts & homes to foster &/or adopt. Doghouse Rescue Academy is by far the best Dog Rescue I have ever come across. I was interested in a hearing impaired dog, after reviewing my application they noticed I have kids and suggested other dogs that would be a better fit for our home and lifestyle. That right there tells me they care. They aren’t going to adopt to anyone just to get the dogs out, they actually take their time and train these dogs and want to find the best families for the dogs! From day one they have been nothing but helpful and if you actually contact them you get an immediate response. This rescue goes above and beyond to not only rescue the dogs but also to find the right person or family for each dog. These dogs have sometimes lived through trauma and they take the time to decompress, vet and teach manners. I don’t call that a rescue.

this rescue does all that can be done for the animals. they have a screening process in place for good reason, just as any good rescue does. fill out an application. speak to a well versed "volunteer" who will ask you tons of questions.... some you may not like. but its about the "animals". its not about us and you can't take it personally. IT IS ALL ABOUT THE ANIMALS. Right? if this is not your belief.... maybe its you not them after all. i whole heartedly recommend Doghouse Rescue Academy. I've never got a dog from them but i do know Carey and she wants nothing but the best for these cuties. she works her butt off to make sure all these dogs have the best life possible and wants to be sure you're home is safe and that the dog will thrive in its furever home. this unfortunately means that if you're a POS, you probably won't get a dog. HANDS DOWN THE BEST RESCUE IV HAD THE PLEASURE OF RUNNING INTO!! These are amazing hard-working people who take care of these dogs! Their events are a blast! I highly recommend going to one and meeting some of their lovely dogs that are up for adoption!
