This small restaurant is in a class of its own.  Family of 5 ate outside in the patio on a lovely day recently and we were grateful for the casual clothes on the other diners.  A nice wine list, and incredible whiskey selection list made drinkers happy.  We had the ahi appetizer - really too small for 5 to share - but the fried cheese curds made up for it in volume and were enjoyed by all, even the naysayers.  Entrees included two different steaks, the salmon (considered by all of the us the best we'd ever had), crab legs or claws that the kid ate all by himself, and bacon wrapped shrimp.  Sides were asparagus, gourmet mac and cheese, and lobster fried rice.  A fabulous meal with great service.  And we finished it off with two terrific desserts - NY Cheesecake Brulee, and a raspberry/chocolate mousse with brownie bites serves in a martini glass.  Both were spectacular.  This is an expensive place, but if you want the best food in maybe all of western Idaho, do not skip D'Railed. INCREDIBLE RESTAURANT! Legit the best dinner I've ever had. My husband and I and another couple stayed in Idaho Falls for 2 nights and ate dinner here both nights. We enjoyed the best steaks (Australian Wagyu), appetizers (mushroom caps, shrimp cocktail, and 26 oz lobster), desert (banana foster), and drinks (incredible bourbon selection) that were out of this world. I can't imagine that anything on the menu is short of incredible. We will be back to enjoy another dinner here again. Wow!   HIDDEN GEM!!!   The best food in Idaho Falls.  The restaurant is tiny but the experience and the food is as good as you can get anywhere in the country.  Everything is thoughtfully planned and every ingredient has a purpose.  We had the wagyu platter with the bread and asparagus and mushrooms and each item was PERFECT.   The cocktails were brilliant and we left the restaurant feeling like we were in a top restaurant in any upscale restaurant in a major city.  After some disappointing experiences in other popular places in Idaho Falls, this was such a relief. We made a reservation a couple days prior to the date we were going in. Reservation was for 7:30 on Friday. We received an email saying it was at 6:30. We called at about 5:30 on the day of our reservation to confirm the timing. It was confirmed to be at 7:30. We arrived at 7:30. We were informed that it would be about a 45 minute wait for our table. With nowhere to sit/stand while we wait we decided to leave due to the absurdity of making a reservation for 730 and being told we would have to wait until at least 8:15 to be seated. We then received a call once we got out to our car saying that they could get us sat in 15 minutes, we let this person know that it is not what their hostess had said a mere 2 minutes ago. The man on the phone stated that they "looked at the security footage" and the hostess told us it would be 15 minutes. Mind you, we had 5 of us there who all heard what she'd said. One of the more bizarre experiences at a restaurant in my life to have someone call back to say they "looked at the security footage!" Objectively hilarious and embarrassing for the restaurant. We had the pleasure of celebrating my husband’s Birthday at D’railed with our teenaged daughter and our pre-teen son. We had a wonderful dining experience from our appetizers to our shared dessert. We travel, extensively and our children are used to fine dining and dining at D’railed was no exception, it was a delightful experience! We came here for a work dinner, and everyone was surprised at the location and outer appearance of this little hole in the wall. But absolutely none of us was disappointed! The star of the show was my boss's wife's non alcoholic beverage (lemon drop) that came with a smoke-filled bubble on top. The server even humored us and made another smoke bubble for her. All of our food was stellar. We shared the crab stuffed mushrooms at the table. And everyone loved their entrees. Our server did great.It's a quiet and dimly lit little place. Our anniversary dinner started out pretty dismally at another restaurant in town that couldn't be bothered to get us a table, and the host staff and bartenders were rude and condescending. (Looking at you Smokin Fins! We walked away from there after 15 minutes of being ignored at the bar.)  We called D'Railed, explained we were celebrating our anniversary and did they have anything we could book immediately, and they said they could get us a table reservation immediately. We arrived within 5 minutes of the call, to the  restaurant which itself was hidden on a little back street across from the railroad tracks, down from the Museum of Idaho. Didn't look like much, but we had heard good things and was hopeful. The server we spoke with on the phone got us seated on the patio, which we were not sure about at first because we sat at a patio table and chairs that we could have had in our own backyard. Besides the unusual ambiance, we were hopeful that the evening would be looking up. Unfortunately we sat for almost 45 minutes after being seated on the patio without so much as a glass of water, and the waitstaff was waiting on other customers that we were seated after us, and they avoided making eye contact with us.  I was pretty ticked by that point and set a timer for 3 minutes on my phone, with full intentions to get up and leave if the timer went off without being acknowledged, and go get tacos at a hole in the wall place, when my husband finally flagged down a server and asked if we were ever going to get someone to wait on us. The server was super busy, but she got right on it and brought us our drinks and got our order. I asked if there was any way to have shrimp omitted from a Chicken and Shrimp item (due to my shellfish allergy), but was told that they were too busy to accommodate special orders. (Understandable, but I wanted to ask as the description made it sound delicious.) We ended up ordering the Australian Wagyu Beef Filets ($55 each), baked potato, a fancy potato dish, and Brussels sprouts. (Everything comes a la' carte, which was $$$.) We waited another 45 minutes for our meal to be prepared, but when served, were cooked to perfection and very good. The potatoes and side dishes were kind of meh, but the steaks were great. Overall, while the steaks were very good, and the server tried really hard to make up for the poor incoming service we experienced, we would likely not return because of the expense of the a la' carte menu items, and not having enough variety. I gave 4 stars for the food we did have and the service, but that rating is not reflective of the price as we could have had a full service menu at other high end restaurants for half of what we spent for two people. If you have a special occasion and money is no object, and have lots of time to burn, then I would recommend going to have a delicious, but overpriced steak there. More...

Amazing meal in a surprising place off the beaten path. The craft cocktails were a great start and even had an usual "Italian soda" for my non alcoholic hubby. This was a cozy spot that was perfect for a romantic date night. The atmosphere was very nice and clean. This place was surprisingly elegant. You get what you pay for. I had the best chicken dish of my life. My boyfriend ordered an Asian dish and was served real wasabi ordered from China. It did not disappoint!
