This place is AMAZING, from the staff to all the physicians. First of all they take every precaution to make sure you are ready for surgery, then after surgery they continue to evaluate you every two weeks. Dr. Krahn has a veIvet hand when it comes to his surgerys my surgery went so well and no infection at all he is the best in Southern California. I am Want to say Thank you to all the girls in the front desk doing such a great job with how busy they are. I want to thank my medical coordinator Brianna, you are amazing, she gets your paper work through with your insurance company and stays on top of everything at all time, plus keeps you up to par with every step. My RNY surgery date was 08/30/2016. I am very happy with my results. My blood sugars were so outrageously out of control. I have been insulin dependent since I was 15 years old and I'm now 54 . The nerve endings in my stomach atrophied due to diabetes and I could not digest my food properly. Â Bottom line is I had the surgery and I'm now able to have a "normal" life! I still require insulin shots don't get me wrong, but very minimal. My pancreas has been through the wringer for over 44 years of diabetes, it's reasonable for it to have taken its toll. This is not the easy way out. It takes a lot of dedication and it is absolutely a life-changing experience. Having these two fine doctors at my bedside was very comforting. I felt safe and well taken care of. Thanks to the great work and dedication of Dr. Chin & Dr. Krahn. I've been a handful with some issues however, they had me covered with in-home nursing care til I was able to recover from some complications.The hospital staff at Dignity SB Bariatric Dept was amazing! I had the gastric bypass surgery the staff was great with me. The doctors were amazing I am 5 months out and heal amazing and had not one problem. Dr. Krahn was amazing and doing my surgery even clean out scar tissue for a surgery I had before. The staff was great for my first month after surgery I had forgot my protein drink they gave me a shaker and protein for free. I had a real positive experience here. My first time here was back in January of 2013. I had gastric bypass in 2012 in Orange County by this time I had already gone from 230lbs to 130lbs but I was really feeling nauseous all day and had not ate anything but I finally convince myself and just as I feared severe tummy ache and non stop vomiting ER here we went. Dr. Chinn performed an emergency surgery because I intestinal perforation. I dont remember leaving the ER waiting room in the San Bernardino Community hospital. Very vaguely remember being put in an ambulance and I was worried about my daughter getting lost. I dont remember my arrival to St. Bernardines Hospital, and all I remember is a male voice introducing himself as Dr. Chinn and stating I was having a surgery due to holes and if any part of my intestines were dried or dead he was going to take that out, something like that and the next thing I remember is waking up and my parents were at my bedside. Now fast forward to last month I came to thinking about getting back on track I have regained 40lbs and I am unhappy with that and I live in constant guilt. My insurance referred me to Western Bariactrics without realizing at the time that this was Dr. Chinn's office, fate!� I believe in everything happens for a reason. My first chance to success I was coming out of a horrible life style and got to where I never even believe I could be but I did it. Then due to illness of fibromyalgia, psoraitic arthritis and lots more not to do with my gastric bypass I lost my job that I loved and devoted myself endlessly for 9yrs+ and lost my car and pretty much everything fortunately I didnt get evicted because I live with close friends but I could have potentially been left homeless. Now 2yrs and half later I am getting my second chance to success and why not include my bariatric surgery in it after all it is rightfully mine and this is more than the juice on my steak for me this more like a major ingredient that will make my steak just perfect not over or under cooked but just perfect. I am excited met Jennifer and Brook and I forgot my nurse's name but she was very sweet but in actuality they were all sweet and genuinely sweet and attentive. Hoping this is the start of a long relationship. I see all my doctors as my leaders their nurses as the navigators and Im just following orders and carrying out instructions because when they are successful then I will be too because I reflect off their profession. If the patient fails then so do the doctors but if the patient is successful then so will the doctor and many more patients and doctors will too. More...

WB was an overall good experience for me. There were a few things that did seem a little strange to me; I never met with my surgeon prior to my surgery day (just prior to being wheeled into the OR) and never saw him post op either.
The office wait times are horrendous. During none of my visits did I wait less than an hour to be seen. One visit I waited so long that I finally had to walk out. The office billed me and my insurance for the visit, but were quick to correct the billing once I contacted them.
I would recommend this office to people for sure, with that said, it is probably an office best suited for persons that don’t have work schedules to contend with.

I had a very good experience with Western bariatric everybody was very nice very helpful and help me through the process and getting my insurance done and gone through the only problem I had was with my nutritional counselor she was very inconsiderate and just didn't seem to want to be there to help me she did answer my questions but it was with an attitude I want to say her name was Wendy but I'm not positive you would have to look it up in my file. For someone who started out at 315 lb and when I went in and Wade and I was 299.9 she goes over 300 lb I said no it was 299.9. for me it was a milestone being under 300 even if it was by a .1 but she didn't understand that because she's never been heavy in her life and she was very upset that she had to drink 8 oz of water every time her timer went off every time I went in she was rude thank God I only have ser her three times. I was going to ask for a different counselor but I had just finished my third class with her and they said I was done with that and I told them good cuz I don't ever want to see her again she's rude other than that 8 months out of post-op I'm down to 198 lb and I feel great about myself because I did this. They gave me the tool to use cuz I had the gastric bypass done and I kept taking full advantage of it I only have 48 pounds left to go before I reach my goal I am very happy with everybody else. Best Doctors ever. Caring and helpful, feel very confident still, that the whole Doctors and staff are the best ever. Had my surgery done by them and recommend it highly. Everything was up front and if I had a question it was answered after listening to me and mostly before I asked it. I still glance at my training book although I have it memorized, it sets next to my chair. I know they saved my life and gave me a new life to boot. I have no health problems at all now and used to take a shoe box of medicines every day. I do love me now and it is from them. Bless them all. More...

Starting out on this new journey I was nervous but when I went in for my 1st everyone in the office was nice. I met Dr. Krahn and he was nice and explained the process to me and answered any questions I had,he made feel comfortable. I had my surgery last june(12,2017) and since then I have lost 132lbs and have regained my life back and I have the doctors and the staff at Western Bariatrics for all there support and encouragement at every visit for how much progress I've made and weight I've lost. Best decision I ever made! In one year I'm down 130 pounds. This team is amazing! Listen to your doctors and you will be successful! They are well knowledged, kind and oh so helpful. Brooke is my favorite! If you listen to their direction and follow the guidelines there is no way you won't be successful! It won't be easy but you "gotta want it". Good luck! Update! 2 years later and I'm down over 150 pounds. Keep up on your exercise and appropriate diet and you can have the body you deserve. 5 stars is as good as it gets. If they offered 10 stars it wouldn't be good enough. Best decision I ever made. It saved my life. The people who work here are very concerned that you do well, and help you on your journey. Â I love them to death. All my medical issues resolved that I had been fighting for years, gone. Not the easy way to loose weight but is the only one that has ever worked because it is a life plan. The neatest thing is you can call and get answers to questions every time, I know I have asked some insane questions but no one has ever made fun of any question. You bring home a book and some papers to read(I memorized them) and if you still have a question call. On top of that they have a monthly meeting for support. Recipes are exchanged, ideas are exchanged and friends are made. If you had told me 2 years ago I had a chance of a full and long life, where I could walk again I would have thought you where crazy. Dr Krahn and Dr Chin changed my life!!! I was 315lbs and very sick, could barely make it up the stairs, diabetes, severe PCOS to the point of infertility. All the staff are very sweet and helpful getting you prepared for surgery and afterwards if you need anything. I had my gastric bypass January 5th 2016, ended up meeting my now husband in the waiting room a month after my surgery while I was waiting for a follow-up on my progress and he was there to have his staples removed. I ended up losing 165lbs in that year, got married in December in a size 10 wedding dress (I was a 24 in regular clothes before surgery, borderline size 26). The best part is my severe PCOS resolved around 6 months after surgery and on my honeymoon I had a dream come true I never thought was possible, I ended up pregnant with my miracle baby! Currently 30 weeks pregnant and couldn't be happier with my choice to have surgery or my choice in surgeon's. More...
