Good gym, has 2 deadlift platforms, a good power rack and bumper plates. Free weights up to at least 100s, and pretty much everything you'd expect from a YMCA gym.

Travelled to Omaha for work for a week from TN. The downtown YMCA was able to offer me a week pass for $30 which was significantly less than any other gym I contacted. Stacy at front desk was very helpful & courteous. Plenty of equipment & even though it did get very busy I had no problem accessing cardio machines or weights that I needed to use. More...

Yesterday was my first visit to the gym for a HIIT class and I absolutely loved it! Melissa is a fantastic instructor! I was worried that parking would be an issue, but at 5:15 PM there was lots of available parking, which is a different story at my home YMCA in CB. I'll be back tonight for another class and so looking forward to it! The only complaint I can give is that the locker rooms need some love. But, it's an old building... I get that. More...

With the promotion going on for signing up there was no excuse for me to not, and the service I received from Anna H. was top of the line! Incredibly informative, professional and helpful, I wish I could sign up again! I can’t stop raving to all my friends to go sign up today and I hope they get to work with someone as good as Anna H! Thank you! So excited! More...

FYI, turn the lights on in the weight area. I don't know if you deliberately turn them off to conserve energy or if they burn out. Looks as though you are closed when driving by. More...

I've been going here since 2002! It's really my second home and as long as I live in Omaha, it will stay that. My only complaint is we need an actual Hack Squat Machine and a Lying Leg Press Machine (works important inside hams better) to compliment the Seated Leg Press (which works more outside hams). But other than that, this may be one of the closest gyms on the planet in terms of "everybody knows one another" and the feeling of family among the core group of bodybuilders, powerlifters, and other competing athletes. A secret gem (no pun intended LOL) in one of the last non-commercial, still considered hardcore gyms (by that core group holding it down) in Omaha. More...

i love the Y. The only thing if a class supposed to start at 10:10 on Saturday MIXXEDFIT the instructor before this session needs to be respectful and end their session on time. This way we start on time and get our full workout. our instructor had to cut our warm dwn short to respect the next session to begin on time More...

This is my favorite Y. The basement cardio/weight area stays relatively cool in the summer, and there are lots of fans behind the row of ellipticals and stationary bikes as well.
Better pool hours than Maple Street. Parking can occasionally be harder to find at busy times, but I usually go mid-morning or mid-afternoon and have no problem.
I think part of it is the age of the building and the fact that it's carpeted, but the women's locker room smells so musty that I usually have to hold my nose when I walk in. The cardio/weights areas seem to frequently run out of wipes to clean off the machines. I also wish there were more ellipticals with moving arms, instead of so many treadmills, because the ellipticals fill up at busy times.

The downtown YMCA is a great place to workout: its a very relaxed judgement free atmosphere. Love the KIDS CARE and even though I don't utilize it as much I like the fact that I have the option of taking my kids there WHILE I work out!

My husband and I recently stayed in Old Market and joined a cycling class at the Downtown YMCA at 8am on Saturday morning. The instructor Anthony was a fabulous instructor, very welcoming to us as one-time visitors. The class was AMAZING! I now judge every cycling class in comparison to the one we took from Anthony. The bikes and the studio were great as well, but this one hour class by this high caliber instructor was the highlight of our weekend trip to Omaha. Even his pick for tunes was superb. Everyone at the Y, employees and fellow exercisers, were over-the-top kind to us and made our time wonderful. I only wish we could take and Anthony spin class every weekend. More...
