I have visited here a few times as well. This was my first try with the shrimp. A little skeptical a first these were cooked well and tasted delicious. The portion to satisfy most and while the dish typically has the queso poured on mine was on the side. My guest had the same dish. I'll be back when in town. Social distancing in place here too. This has been our favorite go-to restaurant since 2004, and we eat there at least once a month. George, the owner, and his family have created a wonderful environment for dinner with good food at reasonable prices as well as good drinks. My favorites are the El Presidente Platter or the Fajitas. But all their food is very tasty and well prepared. Service is always friendly, fast, and attentive. Plus they have our good friend Nevada Billy Rose playing his country and folk songs each Thursday and Saturday nights. We always look forward to our evenings at Dos Amigos! More...

Shopping for office stuff and forgot to eat, figured we would try it.Excellent service and food. I had the mixed Fajitas and the wife a Taco salad. Hello all, this is the place to go if you like Mexican food and in this area. Not only do they serve the traditional Texmex Menu, they offer very traditional mexican meals. Absolutely amazing experience. If your driving through Elko and want some tasty Mexican food, this is the place to go. The staff were all exceptionally nice and welcoming, and the owner checked with us several times and was super friendly. Upon arrival, received your typical chips and salsa. Although at Dos Amigos you get beans as well. Very delicious and unexpected. Our meal comes in soon after we ordered. Very impressive. My carne asada dinner plate was DELICIOUS! Our son enjoyed his carne asada burrito plate. If you are traveling through Elko and have time for a sit down meal, Dos Amigos is worth it! Super friendly staff, well run restaurant, and great food! We were staying in a local hotel with our dog, so we had to get our food to go, and it was great. I had the nachos, my wife had the poblanos chilies. Pretty darn close to the best Mexican food I've had in Nevada. Large portions and fair prices. Everything was absolutely delicious! The queso dip was so good!
