Unbelievable meal! If it's Italian you are looking for there is no where else to look. The portions are super generous and the taste is even better. I had the Scallops ala Carlo and it did not disappoint. My wife got the lobster ravioli and it was amazing as well! Service was great! Tina was so friendly and the reason I went with the dish I did and she was spot on and Carlo himself checked on us several times! I can't speak highly enough of this place. Morehead City has a gem! Very authentic Italian food near the sea. We were lucky enough to have the Chef himself on the line during our visit. The drinks were great. Bread is outstanding. Pasta . Appetizers were awesome, especially the mozzarella. Salads were fresh. The tartufo dessert was excellent.They were very good with spacing us out and maintaining a safe and clean business. This is not a good Italian restaurant.. my food was nasty tast like they just poured wine in the pasta sent back to get somthing else Which was even nastier then the owner was yelling at our waitress becouse i didnt like it im sure this place wont last long I will drive 2 hours to carabas before I go back there Even Olive Garden taste better.... This was supposed to be a special meal for me. We were celebrating my birthday. We tried to call with the phone stating that it was disconnected. We drove 30 minutes from Havelock to actually see if restaurant was closed. It wasn't. We ordered two meals. My husband ordered Puttanesca Alla Carlo. My meal was supposed to be veal picatta. They placed my meal below my husband's very heavy meal which squished my meal and allowing all of the juice to come out of the metal pan and all in the bag. When I opened my meal I realized that I was given chicken and not veal. My pasta was a penne pasta in alfredo sauce. Someone over did the salt as it is unable to be eaten because of the salt. I called immediately and explained what happened. The owner informed me that I needed to bring the meal back down to him and he would replace it. The problem is that its a 30 minute drive each way, time and gas, to bring him back food that his restaurant made a mistake with. Before Covid19 we would go down once a month to eat. Wow this authentic NY style Italian restaurant was a find at Morehead City while we vacationed here in July. The pasta was excellent along with fresh salads and homemade bread. This is what my wife and I have been wanting for sometime. We live in an area that does not have a locally owned Italian restaurant and in traveling to MHC frequently we finally got a chance to eat here. The service was amazing and the owner himself greeted us fantastic. We had a great drink and app(fried zucchini) and owner entree salmon piccata and the zeal special was amazing. The last two times I've eaten here have been less than average. I'm updating because last night was their first night open since the virus shutdown. I've never in my life had a dish with so much pepper. I ordered the seafood with alfredo sauce. My God! The waitress offered to take it back, but I took pity on them since they were so busy. I won't again. I took my food home and made an alfredo sauce from scratch, added it to theirs and it was still way to peppery. I will be back, but won't give them any slack. More...

Second time we visited this restaurant. Each time has been a complete dining experiance seldom to most restaurants today. Our waitress "Melissa" attended us on both ocassions. She is friendly, welcoming and provides a service like no other. The entire staff was excellant, as well. They only add to the delightful dining experiance. Additionally, the food is fresh and of superior quality. Portions are large so you will never leave hungry. The menu is diverse so that everyone can find something they like. The atmosphere here is wonderful. As soon as you walk in, the smells that envelope you make your mouth water. The service is impeccable, and the owner visited our table several times as well to inquire about our thoughts on our meal. We loved the bread, very warm and fresh. We ordered the fried mozzarella appetizer-because who doesn't love fried, breaded cheese? It didn't disappoint and neither did the entrees my husband and I ordered: eggplant parmigiana and chicken parmigiana (respectively). We enjoyed our meal immensely! We went for lunch saturday afternoon. The place looked great and smelled terrific. The staff was great, no complaints there. We had been told how great the food is,so we were excited to try it. We drove over 45 minutes to get there. The one thing i really wanted for an appy, baked clams,They didnt have. Strike 1. The loaf of bread they gave us was dripping in garlic oil and was so hard you my husband could hardle cut it. Strike 2. We had the calamari which was tasty but the pieces were too huge for my mouth and crumbled when you cut them. I got veal piccata which came looking like a bowl of soup. The veal was pasty white and it was so overly lemoned i could hardly eat it. Strike.. My husband got the lobster ravioli which had a ton of sun dried tomato in it. He couldnt eat it either. Strike...When we asked for a PLAIN loaf of bread we got the same overly greasy garlic bread only this time it was a soft loaf. Strike strike...We REALLY wanted to love this place...we just didnt.
