Dominic has been the best partner we could have had as we undertook the massive project to completely gutt and renovate our 1970s condo.
I spend multiple weeks connecting and researching designers, before I picked Dominic. While his past work gave me the confidence about his aesthetics, engaging with him in the planning meetings made me doubly sure that we have found the right partner!!
He is thoughtful, creative, has a great eye for “what this could be” and is extremely easy to work with. We had several issues with our contractors, supply chain delays due to the pandemic, and a strict deadline. But Dominic ensured that we didn’t have to compromise on anything.
I will bombard him with my disparate ideas and was always amazed to see how he could take those disconnected inputs and make them into a cohesive design that was true to our vision.
He is also a man of multiple talents. Our home is filled with customized pieces that he designed for us and each one of those is a keeper. When our dining table was delivered in the wrong shade, and the replacement was 6 months out, Dominic took the matter into his own hands and worked for weeks to create the exact stain and final product that matched with our vision!
He is also a completely self made man and we have truly enjoyed getting to know him. He has worked very hard for everything and has earned it by sheer dint of his zeal and passion!
At the end of this journey, we were not only left with a beautiful, warm place to call home, but also a trusted advisor and a friend whose design expertise we will be leveraging again and again!

Dominic was an amazing designer from start to finish. He completely remodeled our loft's living room, kitchen, dining room, bedroom, and home-office space. What’s your interior design process?
I will conduct a free walkthrough of your space. I will gather as much information as is necessary to create an estimate for your project. I will use the estimate to describe the exact work I anticipate will be necessary to bring your project to completion. The client can then choose from a holistic package or an hourly package. My initial proposal, which contains my estimate, will also include my initial design ideas, mood boards, as well as some FF&E suggestions, to get the ball rolling on the design process.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
I work on any project that is compelling! I am an ever-evolving designer who does not like to limit himself with the confines of genres. A client's personal style runs much deeper than a single genre can summarize.
What do you love most about your job?
I am always creating and designing. I get to do this all day every day. The next best part of designing is interacting with clients and building strong bonds. I have many clients that I have worked with for years--any time they have a new project, I help them, whether big or small.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I began working with architecture and design when I was in 9th grade. I have always loved all things design. From there I chose to study architecture and classical archaeology at UC Berkeley. I then pursued my Masters at Parson's: The New School before founding DBSID in the Bay Area. I use art history, particularly the art and material culture of Ancient Greece, Rome, and the Near East to inspire all of my projects.

As Principal, Dominic thrives to turn out projects that inspire others, while setting trends within the design industry. With a keen eye for textiles and color, Dominic finds a way of enveloping his backgrounds in Archaeology and Architecture into every creation.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I do a large amount of remote/online services as it is very easy to create models and designs on programs such as Revit, Sketchup, and Photoshop. I create detailed mood boards that help convey my ideas to my clients, with specific item images as well as computer renderings (when needed). I create complete construction plans to hand-off to contractors/handymen to perform any installation of designs.
