I am a new client of theirs and honestly haven't been happier. I was nervous because my two year old stubborn pup was resistant to all other training and I thought it was a lost cause. I came and met with Katie and she really took the time to focus on my dog, Charlie and asses his needs. We have only been for two sessions and I already notice a huge difference in my pups behavior. Katie is extremely patient, kind and very knowledgeable with her training. At the end, she writes some homework to practice at home and it really helps. DO THE WORK AT HOME if you want to see improvements but I am very pleased with the training and can't wait to see how my baby Charlie progresses! Ask for her, you'll have a brand new dog! Shout out to dogz101 for the work they did on the board and train with King T'challa The Boerboel. His transition is amazing. I took him to Starbucks and gave him the command to go down and stay he did it so obediently while I went to get coffee and he was not tied down either. We then went to the park and not one time did he try to walk ME he stayed right at my side nor did he go after any dogs, runners or bikes even when they tried to come for him. Dogz101, I don't think I could think of a more fitting name. They are truly the highway to success for all of our four legged friends. My dog Kylo, a 2year old rescue had a very tough few months of his life after being dumped out with his litter in the middle of winter out in Lake county. When we brought our little guy home we soon learned that he had a long way to recovery after the trauma he had endured. We knew that both of his breeds historically held a level of sharp-witted abilities, but we needed help. Our friend who was training with lead trainer Justin at the time without a doubt passed along DOGZ101's information. I was a bit hesitant because I knew that our pup was special but Jen (who helped set up our eval) and Justin welcomed us in and since day one we knew we had a family at DOGZ101. Justin was instantly able to tell how eager Kylo was to learn and knew what we had to work on. Within days of our training we were able to effectively use the tools Justin provided to begin Kylo's training. Like anything else there will always be changes or new questions/concerns that come up along the way, Justin and the entire team have been great at listening and advising us along the way. This is by far the best place for you and your pups. Trainers here are very knowledgable and passionate about what they do. My little mutt practically grew up here - with the help of Justin, he passed his STAR puppy and CGC. From being a pet, he showed obedience and engagement. What really turned him around was his recent board and train program at Dogz101. Trainers Kim and Katie worked with him on a daily basis and kept me updated of his progress. So far it's not bad for grooming . I started coming here as a longtime customer of Christina's at petco woodside where she groomed my dogs for the last 3 years. Christina moves here recently and I decided to check this place out. Services: Face, foot, Fanny trim (20 each)Pros: plenty of parking Open air waiting room - no dog pee smellsJennifer did a great job with my 2 dogs, came out looking great and they even asked if I wanted anything shorter and would take them back to adjust the cut. Takes walk-ins and service was prompt. Similar (but slightly higher) price for same services as petco so not a huge cost change Cons: Location is hidden in the back of some buildings, easy to miss. My groomer is only available Tuesdays and Thursdays so it's unlikely we'll be able to have her groom much in the future, but the other groomer on was pretty good. They share a space with large dog day care and training so grooming has to be confined in a different space. Can't see the grooming happening, which has helped my very anxious younger dog feel less scared. We only get basic nail and face/foot trims so I'd prefer to see it happening. At petco and petsmart they've always been able to see me while getting trimmed and I'm more comfortable knowing how my dogs are handled, especially with a new store. Crossing paths with Dogz101 has been a blessing for me and my boy Bodhi (Belgian Malinois). The bond I have with my dog now goes beyond what I had ever imagined because of Justin, Jennifer, and the rest of the Dogz101 crew. Bodhi and I felt right at home with these folks. Currently at about 1.5 years old, I can't believe the level of obedience he's reached. When I'm out and about with Bodhi, there hasn't been one day I've come accross so many positive complements. I cannot express the amount of gratitude I have for this company and mainly for the people that work there. They know how to adapt to all kinds of dogs and their personalities to ensure you as a pet parent are successful no matter what you wanna work on with your pup. Justin who is the lead trainer REALLY knows his stuff and REALLY knows dogs as well. He is clearly passionate about his work and it totally shows with the amount of work he puts in every day with a variety of dogs and clients. In the past I've gone to 6 different trainers in the Bay Area and I can tell you now, the methodology he's created with his work is flat out AMAZING. The goal is to ensure your pup has positive engagement with you so that they WANT to work with you and have fun rather than be scared or be bored. That's truly the way to train a pup and it shows when you see that your dog is wagging it's tail, ears perked and eyes locked on you to see what's next. That's what Justin and his team aim for with with every client. They truly treat you like family and want you to succeed. They are also educated on how to properly introduce tools that will work for you and your pup. If you are looking to train your pup for any sort of behavioral issues, for competition, for sports, or even just to have a well mannered dog you should absolutely go to Dogz101. My dog loves going to daycare at Dogz101 and has the best time playing with her friends there. I think the biggest differentiator of Dogz101 is that Justin, Jennifer and their team are invested in making sure every dog is well-attended to, and has a safe and fun experience. There are very few people I would trust with my dog. He's a bit difficult but very sweet and needed someone who is both knowledgeable and loving with dogs. I have found that (and more!) with Dogz101, and the head trainer Justin is an absolute genius. From obedience, to curing his poor habits, we were walked through every step and given the techniques to give our dogs a better life! Hands down Jen is the best around. We have a large Rottie and we would have his nails done at our vets office. After the first time they could not finish and they had us bring him back and give him medication that would leave him very groggy and muzzle him. After he would sleep the day away. We told Jen about this while we were training him with Justin. She said to let her take him and see how he does. OMG no reaction. He was absolutely fine with her. She cut and filed and he got his treats and was completely happy!!! NO MORE DRUGS THANKS JEN!!! Bear completely trust you. The training we have received has been great! We decided to try Dogz101 based on a recommendation from a friend. We were interested in a trainer that focused on positive reinforcement rather than 'breaking a dog'. We also wanted individual training rather than group classes to start. When we met Justin he seemed to immediately know what our dog Dexter needed. He provides positive, practical tools that make you say 'that makes sense', but when put into practice make a world of difference with your dog. We've had three trainings and the improvement in our dog has been amazing. We haven't needed to train him using prong collar or any other specialized tools, we're just using regular flat collar and leash. I've never written a yelp review so this should go to show how much I love these guys. The lead trainer here at Dogz 101, Justin is excellent. He creates an immediate bond with you and your dog and genuinely cares how you progress. He constantly follows up and creates uncomfortable but great learning curves for both you and your dog so every single session you come out feeling like your one step closer to your goal with no waiting. Dogz101 has helped my dog in so many ways! My friend recomended Dogz101 to me and now our family drives all the way down from San Francisco just for this team -- 110% worth it! Justin and his team are kind and caring! Justin, the lead trainner is the perfect balence of fun and firm with our dog. Our dog Summer suffers from anxiety and aggression, Justin has given our family the tools to teach Summer without her shutting down. Justin is patient and understanding of our dog's individal needs, something SPCA and basic trainning centers dont always give. Our dogs Rocky and Ella are currently doing the 30 day board and train program. We looked at a few other (well known) dog training facilities but after our evaluation with Dogz101 we knew it was the right fit. We are super impressed with the progress we have seen so far. Justin is amazing at what he does and he truly cares about both the dogs and the families he works with. Wow where do I begin?!! A little back history....we have two Coton de Tulears adorable girls, 1/2 sisters 11 years old and 5 years old. Did a fair amount of training with taffy(11) very little with lucy(5) they are both super loving at home! Anywhere else....a mess. Lucy has been pretty dominant with Taffy! Even attacking her. We couldn’t really go anywhere for fear of Lucy acting like a devil if we saw or heard another dog!In the end of July Lucy went for taffy...ended up at the ER. I had it new that I and mean I needed to do something! Well I was referred to Dogz 101 from our vet! BEST REFERRAL EVER!!!!!!!!Let me tell you why....taffy has gone back to being her obedient playful adorable 11 year old working at EVERY class, and during homework always pleasing mom! Lucy she not only can be around other dogs but I will post a photo of her sitting next to Rambo no leash!Why you ask !! All because of the training and tools I got from DOGZ 101. From the minute we emailed them they told me “we’ve got you” “ we never give up” I’ve been told by another place there was no hope!We arrived at the evaluation I was a mess my dogs were a mess!! Jennifer, we are so lucky to have found you. Grady my rescue has been through a few groomers as he has trust issues and anxiety around new people and definitely needs to be handled differently than other dogs. When I first called Jennifer she spent a lot of time talking to me on the phone which made me feel incredibly comfortable. Upon meeting Jennifer she approached Grady with care and had a great energy about her. Less than an hour later Grady was groomed and looked great and he even let her grind his nails. I talked to Jennifer on the phone and was super excited to try this new dog grooming business that was very close to my house in Emerald Hills. I have two Yorkies and they hadn't had a haircut in months. I called on a Friday and she was able to get me an appointment for both dogs on Wednesday. Let me start off by saying this place is absolutely amazing ! I highly recommend anyone who loves and cares for their dog to come here ! The first time I contacted Justin about training my dog, he was on top of responding to me and helping me understand what they do here - When I brought her in, he was very nice, made sure I was I knew what was going to happen once I signed up for classes - but he also reassured me he was going to help me train my dog correctly. I have a beautiful american terrier mix and we have been shut down by other trainers because of her breed but also, because they felt incapable of helping me correct my dog. It has now been a little over a month since I have joined classes with him and I am absolutely amazed at all the progress my dog and even myself have shown. Justin and Jen have made me and my dog feel more than welcomed here at dogz 101. They are both equally informative on everything involving dogs, from home care to raw diet to what you need to do if you have any "what if's" and or but questions!! I am so happy I decided to come here and work with them. We've known Justin for a little while now from when he worked for someone else. Now that he's doing his own thing we been bringing our 3yr old rottweiler to him, he already knew him from when he was a pup, and has worked with him in the past. So the transition was easy. Dogz101 has changed my life! I never have to worry about if both my dogs are being taken care of or not. Their daycare service is AMAZING, my boys come home tired and ready to eat. I also have done (currently still doing) some basic obedience training AND K9 protection work and wow, I have seen a huge improvement in my dogs! (Not to mention it's fun for them AND myself!) They love all breeds, all shapes and all sizes! I love how they post videos and pictures all day long on their Instagram page so I can see what my boys are up to. I'm so happy that I have found my new forever grooming spot. Jennifer is the best!! Five paws, just outstanding. My dog does is pretty difficult when it comes to Grooming but Jennifer has found a way to make it so that my sweet pea feels comfortable having every part of her body groomed. Unlike like the other places I used to take her to where they had to avoid her face because they said she would snap at them or her feet clipped because they said she did not like being touched there. My little princess came out of Jennifer's grooming session looking like the little Angel she is and Jennifer said she did "great". Seriously I recommend this place to anyone my only fear is that the word is going to get out and I will have a hard time getting my next appointment but I'm so happy that such a wonderful place exists I had to spread the word. I have 2 Aussies, ages 5 and 13. A year ago, my old groomer said she couldn't groom my 13 year old because he was to old and hated to stand on the table, but would be happy to continue with my younger dog. No thank you, I said. Then I found Jennifer, and she had zero problem grooming both of my dogs. She was so calm and patient, she knew exactly what to do with my older dog and she was so fast. Meeting Justin and Jennifer was the best thing that could've happened to my beagle/blue heeler-mix rescue pup (except for ME adopting him from the pound)! A standard dog obedience school would not suffice this little guy with a big "ego", and his tendency to chase down anything on wheels whilst barking his head off. Tiny dogs can be just as intimidating as big ones, but not to head trainer, Justin. Not only is Justin knowledgeable on obedience training, he is great at training people too. Justin and Jennifer are a phenomenal team! Our German Shepherd, Thor, loves going to his weekly PawCamps at Dogz101 and we've learned so much about obedience training while working with Justin. In addition to obedience training, we wanted Thor to socialize with other dogs in a safe and controlled environment. He would always get overly excited around other dogs, and due to his large size, it could become intimidating. Justin has helped him socialize properly and we've seen a huge improvement. I also appreciate the updates that get posted on social media, which allows us to peek in on Thor's day and see how much fun he's having with the pack! Jennifer has been grooming Thor for over a year, and he loves it! The only person who loves Dogz101 more than me is my dog Louie!! My husband and I use Dogz101 for training and twice each week for their PawCamp services which is obedience mixed with free play and socializing. We noticed an immediate improvement in Louie's behavior after spending time with Justin and Jennifer. Justin and Jennifer are clear communicators, take pride in their work, and we would highly recommend them to anyone looking for obedience training and guidance for how to better communicate with their dog! I've actually been working with Justin (Lead Trainer at Dogz101) for a couple of years now. He trains my Cane Corso for obedience and PSA and my Boston Terrier for obedience. He's helped tremendously with both. I've worked with other well known trainers around the Bay Area but I've undoubtedly had the best results with Justin. His training philosophy is very positive with lots of motivators and he makes the training experience fun for the dog. Jen is a fantastic groomer. Both my dogs are short hair, pretty low maintenance in that department but she bathes both dogs for me and takes care of the nails as well and does great with both. I trust both Justin and Jen with my dogs even when I'm not able to be immediately present. Both are definitely dog people and very good at what they do.I also have enrolled both in Dogz101 Paw Camp and have boarded both with Dogz101 for a few nights at a time with no problems, issues or concerns. I know they are safe, happy and having fun even when I have to go out of town without them. I can't say enough positive things about Dogz101. Jennifer has been grooming our Labradoodle, Lexi, for more than a year. We were looking for a new groomer since the first two that we tried had a hard time calming 6-month-old Lexi down to even get close to her with scissors. When Jennifer met Lexi, she interacted with Lexi in such a way that Lexi quickly calmed down and remained so for the entire grooming session. I was convinced that Lexi didn't like grooming - it turned out that she just didn't like the other groomers! Even now, whenever Lexi is groomed, she is full of love and enthusiasm for Jennifer. Not only did Jennifer earn Lexi's trust, she also does a wonderful job grooming. Often, after Lexi is groomed, we get compliments and it's not uncommon for other dog owners to ask for Jennifer's contact info. In addition, Jennifer remembers the big and little ways that we like Lexi groomed. On top of all that, Jennifer is very easy to work with - professional, easy to communicate with.
