My boyfriend and I purchased our very first Belgian Malinois puppy at 8 weeks old. If you are familiar with this breed then you know how high energy they are and how much mental stimulation they require. As Coral got older we thought maybe we had gotten in over our heads with getting this breed because of how loud, mouthy and bossy she was becoming. She would jump on us when arriving home, bite our arms to the point of bleeding, and bark uncontrollably at us. We started researching dog trainers around us and the search led us to Dog Training Elite with Shelley and Graham. I had two requirements when I was interviewing trainers: experience with the Belgian Malinios breed and a trainer who involved the owner with the training and didn’t just take the dogs to their facility for 8 weeks. Dog training Elite met those requirements and blew our expectations out of the water! She helped us work with Coral but also taught us to be the dog trainer so our bound with our little puppy would continue to develop. Coral has excelled way quicker than we could have ever expected and she has became the dog of our dreams because of Shelley! AND, The best part is we get to stay involved with these trainers after our 8 sessions are over because of their platinum package, which includes group training for life and a ‘refresher’ session with our trainer once a month! I have never hired a trainer before and let me say I am so happy I chose Dog Training Elite. We rescued a 2 yr old mix breed that was found with wounds on her neck from being tied up. I knew I would need professional help with her training. From my initial phone call setting up the free home demo I just knew I made the right decision. They took the time listening to our needs and what we are looking to accomplish with training. Then our trainer Ashley came over with 2 of her dogs. When I say amazing, that doesn’t even describe her and her dogs. She came back 2 days later and we are now on week 3! Ashley is so knowledgeable, personable and kind. She takes her time making sure we are comfortable with our homework. You can tell she loves her job and cares like family. Not only has Lexi learned so much already , so have we. We have loved our experience with Dog Training Elite TC. Our Dalmatian has done a 180 in terms of obedience. We were taught the basics at home with one of their trainers. I have 4 dogs one being a 6month old Lab puppy and a 10 year old stubborn beagle. I had given up on the beagle ever being social and not "high maintenance". Obedience Training
One of Dog Training Elite’s most popular dog training services is to teach basic dog obedience training in Treasure Coast / Port St. Lucie, FL. This includes both in-home dog training sessions and group classes for a more advanced approach.
We use positive dog training in Treasure Coast / Port St. Lucie based on the classical conditioning theory, paired with an electronic collar-- this is not a shock collar. Unlike a shock collar, an electronic collar does not hurt or harm the dog and is used to obtain a dog's attention. We believe in using ongoing praise to encourage good behavior. The difference becomes clear when comparing a dog that is trained out of anxiety and intimidation vs a dog who truly desires to please from the inside out.

Anxiety & Aggression Dog Training
One of the most difficult, necessary, and rewarding behaviors to correct in a dog is anxiety and aggression. Anxiety and aggression are behaviors that can be learned, genetic, or innate. When a dog feels threatened, the two natural responses will be fight or flight. Most dogs will attempt to put as much distance between themselves and the threat; if the threat remains they will then turn to aggression or submit. Other dogs are overly confident pack leaders and will turn first to aggression. Both of these reactions stem from anxiety and can be fixed with a balanced, positive aggressive dog training in Treasure Coast / Port St. Lucie.
Dog Training Elite Treasure Coast behavior modification process is highly personalized. We work to empower owners as they work alongside our professional dog trainers in Treasure Coast / Port St. Lucie to build confidence and understanding in their dogs. We work with owners in their home to slowly retrain a dog’s reactions to stressful situations and then work to integrate them back into the community.
Veteran Service Dog Training
Dog Training Elite Treasure Coast believes so strongly in the healing power of service dogs for retired military veterans that we have created "The Malinois Foundation". We donate our time and passion to veteran service dog training Treasure Coast / Port St. Lucie for the foundation.
Service dogs can help ease both mental and physical impairments attained through a veteran’s service to our country. Many veterans suffer from PTSD, physical disabilities, and a variety of other handicaps and service dogs have been proven to lessen symptoms and assist in integrating veterans back into normal routines as much as possible.
Group Classes
We offer small dog training classes after obedience training is completed and only once a puppy is fully immunized. Group classes are held regularly and are included in most packages. Our classes are designed to place yourself and your dog in distracting public places.
Therapy Dog Training
We have a developed highly successful therapy dog training program that empowers dog owners and their canines to work together, creating strong bonds and sustained obedience.
In-Home Training
Many dog owners express frustration when their dog returns from obedience school and has not learned one command successfully. While obedience school trainers teach your dog simple commands, effective training is best done at home with the owner. Each dog is unique, with its own temperament and behavioral issues. Full-scope training is not possible to achieve without an in-home dog training program.
