I cannot recommend this place enough for a GREAT detail and even for ding removals. My family has brought their cars here before but I had yet to take the plunge myself. My Macan was COVERED in swirls, scratches, and marring from years of daily use. I came in hoping for my car to have a 50% improvement and it honestly now looks better than the day I bought it! Seriously my paint is flawless, at least 95% of my scratches are gone (the deep ones are the only ones left) and you would never know where the dent used to be on my car! It's a bit pricey but you get what you pay for which is a professional detail with an above excellent quality. I rarely write reviews however this business Went  Above and beyond what was necessary to get the job done so being deserving is an understatement. This is my story, i paid a local mobile detailing service to ceramic coat my brand new mustang and it turned out to be an absolute nightmare! The detailer did not wipe away the ceramic coating completely so it streaky lines pretty much burned into my clearcoat and it was absolute disaster! I was beyond frustrated with the situation so I decided to start doing reviews of local detail shops and noticed that Dr. detail kept coming up with great reviews so I decided to give them a try And I could not be happier with that decision. I spoke with Darren, the owner, about my situation and he put me at ease with his absolute confidence of overcoming this problem. Our Hyundai Elantra received severe soot and smoke damage from a fire in a nearby garage in our apartment complex.  After a couple of weeks of miscommunication involving tow truck services and a body shop, our car finally arrived at Doctor Detail.  Three days later, we came to pick it up, and WOW it looked brand new!!  We were happily shocked because the damage looked pretty bad. . . we were just glad that our insurance company didn't just total it out.  Although we never met Darren, we were told that he supervised the actual restoration process.  We DID meet Christina, and she was not only personable and professional, but also seemed very proud of the work done on our car.  Have already recommended Doctor Detail and will continue to do so.  It is very refreshing to see a business that clearly values doing things right the first time.  A million thanks!! Brought my wife's 2004 Sequoia in for a complete detail.  Her car had severely oxidized white paint and was definitely showing it's age.  Doctor Detail gave me a fair quote and was able to schedule me on the day I had available.  I dropped the car off in the morning and picked it up that afternoon.  Wow, what a difference!  The vehicle literally looks brand new!  The paint, the interior and the engine bay are spotless.  As I was looking over my car the owner Darren and one of his technicians performed some simple paint touch above and beyond what was planned.My wife and I couldn't be happier!  I will definitely be a return customer for my other and future vehicles!  Thank you Darren! I am a car guy with high expectations of customer service and quality of product delivered. Darren has now worked on 4 of my vehicles ranging from basic detail to interior modifications to window tinting to vehicle rebranding. While there have been minor issues after a few months of use...Darren has ALWAYS made things right. I do business with many different entities due to owning my own business and properties and I will say that Dr Detail is a top 5 in ANY service related company I deal with (and I am not sure who the other 4 are). To the best of my knowledge, this is Orange County's only business that offers this type of detail service. Specifically, the lifted, undercarriage wash and detail. This is what my old, dirty truck needed before a photo shoot. Know that my big diesel truck was in stark contrast to the Porsches, BMWs and Concourse-quality automobiles awaiting DD's meticulous detail services. They did an exceptional job. Pricing was at the level of the service. The facility is updated and clean. If you choose to wait, there are restaurants and shopping a short cab or Uber ride away. Doctor Detail did a full engine bay and underbody high pressure steam clean for my 1960 Rambler Wagon before it was sent to be worked on at a local shop to be overhauled. The Rambler was an original California barn find that was caked in oil, grease, dust and dirt that was even hard to take off with a scraper.By the time it was done, the underbody and engine bay looked like it was from a different car and by steam cleaning before the restoration, it saved me hundreds of dollars on extra labor hours that would be spent finding leaks through the grease and grime.Darren the owner is one of the coolest guys to talk to and his car collection is amazing.Check out some of the before and after pictures on my Instagram @grizzlypeakrambler More...

Recently purchased a vintage 2001 Porsche 911/996 Twin Turbo.  The car has been extremely well cared for and looks fantastic, with the exception of faded paint and deteriorated clear coat on the brake calipers, and incorrect color disk rotor "hats".  These cosmetic paint problems were painfully visible through the factory alloy wheel spokes.  Asked a knowledgeable Orange County Porsche community professional for a referral and learned of Darren McKendry, Doctor Detail, Costa Mesa.  Darren quoted a very fair price to repaint the calipers and rotor hats, which included applying new "Porsche" lettering, as from the factory.  Was surprised to learn he could get the job done in one day.  Darren introduced me to Crew Forman Francisco, who would oversee the job.  Francisco listened carefully, than honored my request to dismount my wheels by hand rather than an air impact gun.  When done, remount and tighten lug bolts by hand to spec, using a torque wrench.  In addition, they re-glued some minor leather trim separation.When I came down to pick up the car, was totally amazed by the awesome high quality painting and clear coat finish on the calipers.  "Exceeded my expectations" is an understatement.  Sincerely believe the gorgeous painting and clear coat finish applied to my brake calipers probably add several thousand dollars to the value of my car.Highly impressed by the care and outstanding workmanship performed at Doctor Detail, Costa Mesa, CA.  Unconditionally recommend Darren and his crew for your automotive detailing needs.      . As far as I'm concerned, Doctor Detail (Darren McKendry) is the only game in town!!!! You will not find a business that comes close to comparing. I had the good fortune to be introduced to Doctor Detail by a fanatical BMW friend of mine and was exceptionally please with the detailing Darren McKendry and his staff performed on my 2002 BMW 525i. When a friend of mine T Costello wanted to have the engine compartment of her daughters car cleaned, I recommended Dr. Detail. When she picked up the car and was shown the results, she was amazed. She said, "What did you do, did you put a new engine in it". The quality of the detailing was exceptional and in deed, it did look like a new engine. TC was delighted with the results. This is my second time at this location. I was referred to by a friend of mine. Service is great: quick, professional and painless. I got my car's interior detailed, as well as the ozone treatment. Came back the next day and it was a brand new car. Every nook and crannies were spotless. This is the only place I can trust since I'm neurotic when it comes to details. I think the owner might suffer from the same neurosis as me since I can't find anything to complain about. Such a gorgeous place to take your car for a facelift and maintenance.... not only is this location stunning, it's truly first class, they do phenomenal work and as if that wasn't enough they are very warm and welcoming and not pretentious even if you aren't driving a very fancy new car, they treat everyone with best-in-class service ( and that's saying a lot especially with a $350k Ferrari parked it the detail center).  Darren, the owner, runs this place and is there daily and he is  he one who talks to you and goes over everything and recommends everything you need but definitely doesn't try to pressure or upsell you on anything. Their work is amazing and it's literally a one-stop spot for everything you could possibly want done to your vehicle. I'm having my car freshened up to look new again. And just one very small thing I had done out of a bunch of other things is headlight restoration... done in 40 mins and looks incredible (see before and after pic). The PGA Tour has nothing on Doctor Detail.  These guys are GOOD.  After a couple of mishaps badly damaged my black paint, followed by bad choices on my part about who to have fix it, I'd resigned myself to having to have my car painted.  Enter Doctor Detail, one of three "reconditioners" (if that's the right description) I visited, each of whom has owners of Bentleys, Beemers, Jags, and the like as a substantial part of their clientele --   demanding car owners who love their cars.  All three companies had stellar Yelp reviews.  I chose Doctor Detail because I particularly liked how Darren inspected the car, asked questions, listened to me, and provided options with no effort to upsell. Darren discerned correctly that my 9 year old Nissan Altima Coupe is my Bentley -- I love the car and wanted it back in near-mint condition.  And Doctor Detail delivered.  I was blown away -- a day and a half's work, and I had what looked like a brand new car.  The quality of the work and professional attention to detail is top grade.  The interior was spit shined, as well, and even the engine was cleaned and looks like it's never been driven.  I was in love again! We had a great conversation afterward as I was shown around the details of my car, and Darren and one of his men answered my questions and gave me advice on maintaining the good work they'd done.  They were almost sheepish about recommending product to me -- no attempt to foist expensive stuff on me; just asking questions about my car maintenance habits, then fitting me with a recommendation. Nearly a month later, and I'm still enamored -- I almost feel upset when I drive by someone who fails to look at my beautiful baby. What pride these folks take in their work, and what joy they take in seeing car owners' delight!  I got lucky finding Doctor Detail, and I plan to have them do a conventional "detailing" every year.  It's worth every penny. Darren the owner just called me to follow up with the detail service he provided. Instead of calling him back I wanted to leave him a review. Just purchased a gently used car online from an dealer. We get the car and find out that it had been owned by a heavy smoker. No bueno!  With 3 year old kiddo and a pregnant wife, I either had to return the car or get an extreme cleaning to rid the stench. I called Doctor Detail, and from the very beginning Darren took control of the situation. He helped contact the dealer and directed me how to negotiate a fair settlement (due to them not disclosing the smoking issue). He then took the car and had his team work their magic. Wow I've been here for dent removal and tire restoration and now for leather repair.  What a great place.  They really take pride in their work.  I came referred by Xyillon and I've been really impressed with this place.  Appointments are easy and the employees are wonderful.  They do a wonderful job and it's easy to find on Placentia in Costa Mesa.  Now I know where to detail all my cars.  I'll have to see all the other services provided here on my next visit next week.  Love it when I find a new place that takes pride in the quality of their work. Darren and his team did an amazing job restoring my 1981 Camaro Z28 to it's original beauty. The car has it's original paint and when I bought it 3 years ago I never imagined it could look as good as it did when Darren finished it, it looked brand new.   In addition to the detail work, I also had some dents and scratches fixed as well as having my rear bumper painted, again Darren's team surpassed my expectations.  Besides the high quality work, the staff at Doctor Detail are friendly and eager to please.There's no question I will return to Doctor Detail for any work, not only on my classic Camaro, but any of my other cars . Darren and his team did it again....I brought my black 911 in for ceramic coating, exhaust tip polishing and clear bra install. My car looked amazing at the end. It's slippery smooth and because of the coating, water rolls right off. Dust rolls right off and dirt easily comes off. Darren takes his time inspecting your car and telling you all the options available. He educates you on his process and doesn't pressure you into the sale. My 2009 Chevy 4x4 lived at the Seal Beach Pier lot for four years.  It only has 28k miles on it.  I took it in for service and they asked me if it had been submerged in the ocean.  The undercarriage was rusted as heck.  I took it to Darren and they pulled the bumpers off, ground all the rust away, then encapsulated the undercarriage.  Perfect!!!  They then detailed the truck, and when I picked it up I did not recognize it, since it looked brand new.  This is the most amazing shop ever.  I love my new truck! Words cannot describe how amazing Darren and his team are at bringing your car's image back to life.  This is the second time I've had my car detailed here and I've been blown away both times.  I used to detail my own cars, but due to time constraints needed an alternative that could meet my expectations.  I have a BMW with black paint, and the slightest misstep causes swirls and holograms.  I was fortunate enough to have found Doctor Detail, whom far exceeds anything I've been able to accomplish at home.From the moment you call you're greeted with the utmost respect and customer appreciation.  The lovely Christina will take your information and schedule you for an appointment.  Then when you arrive they take a look at your vehicle and provide you with a quick estimate.You can now expect the full detailing process to take at least 5hours on a slow day and 8am to 5pm on a normal day, but as said before, you will not be disappointed.  Also, the lovely Christina will give you a call about 2 hours advance notice of when your car will be ready.When you come to pick up your car you're taken through their showroom of artfully pristine automobiles, to reassure you that you've made the right choice choosing them.  Then as you turn the corner you behold your vehicle perfectly detailed, minor scratches removed, and swirl mark free.  It is always absolutely breathtaking when you see your vehicle after leaving it in their care.I'm so grateful for everything that they do, and can't wait until my car needs to be detailed again! Tried several "high end" detail shops around OC. No place even comes close to the job they do at Doctor Detail.  It may be on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for.  This is the only detail shop that I trust.  Very nice facility and even greater staff. I was referred to Daren at Dr. Detail by a good friend.  Costa Mesa is a bit of a drive for me from Orange, but I didn't want to leave my car at just another average detail shop.  When I pulled in, I thought I picked the wrong driveway.  It didn't look like any detail shop I've ever seen.  Daren has taken auto detailing to a whole new level. This place is organized, immaculate, and professional in every aspect.  I have a 58 Mercedes and needed the undercarriage cleaned.  I couldn't find anyone who had a lift and was willing to put it up and pressure wash it. It's no wonder why they get five stars from everyone. This is not a detail shop attached to a car wash. These guys are technicians. I've had them do two cars. The first was a 1970 Olds 442 Convertible I was restoring. It was first brought to them with the engine out for rebuild to get into the engine compartment. Then brought back after the mechanical work. It looked fabulous. Sold at auction for a good price. Then when a gasket blew on my prize 1965 Corvette show car, that sprayed hot coolant all over the engine compartment, it went to Dr. Detail to refurb the engine compartment. This was not a quick spray job. The hood and front bumpers were removed. Everything was taped off, cleaned, sanded, painted with the correct colors, and it looked beautiful. Took a first place the next weekend with her. This place is not cheap like a car wash detail. This is a place you take the cars you love and don't skimp on. Just get the quote and do it. More...

I looked into steam cleaning the engine compartment of my 1959 TR3 with the first place I found on Google and they wouldn't do it.  Instead they referred me to Doctor Detail.  Glad they did.  I decided to test the place with a '65 Vette and was very satisfied with the outcome.  The owner is very knowledgeable and personable, and the shop looks like a museum - lovely classic cars and artwork on the walls.  Even the restroom looks like something you'd see from a 5 star restaurant.  Pricing is fair and you'll get 10% of your first full detail.
