He was able to provide sound systems for one of our entertainers, and of course DJ services for the ending portion of the party. They were very easy for work with. Maui DJ Services, specifically DJ Scott were our choice for our wedding in Maui. They were amazing. Scott was aware of all the songs we wanted played and those we didn't. He was polite and courteous to not just us, but our guests as well. Everyone we spoke to after the wedding said the same thing, that he was thoughtful, listened to their requests and played the songs almost immediately. I have been to a lot of weddings where the DJ ignores the requests of the audience and are generally not personable. I found Maui DJ services to be the exact opposite. We hired DJ Scott as our wedding DJ at The Royal Lahaina Resort and he was awesome! His online form was super easy to fill out and nice that you could go back in at any time and add and edit things as you go with one click of a link. From the first day we hired him until the final song at the wedding he was great. And he brought an assistant which we didn't even expect but was a super nice bonus since we had a larger crowd. We would like to first off say, so sorry this review is long over due.... My wife and I got married in April and it is now September and are just doing our thank you cards and reviews. We are a bit slow lol. But non the less, we are here now:) Maui DJ Services is so much more than a DJ company. From start to finish the service was nothing short of perfect and we never felt pressured even though everything kept changing on these poor guys! From the wedding date, location, to our indecisiveness of what dance floor we wanted. They were so accommodating and we definitely now know what true Aloha means. Scott was our main contact through out the entire process and was just amazing! He made the introduction all the way to the payment process as seamless as we could hope for. His calmness and patience was exactly what we needed during the hectic times. Tony was our DJ and played everything we wanted and he put our song choices into a fabulous mix. The video dance floor was worth every penny and if you want to do something that will separate your wedding from anything else?! Get this dance floor! Not only did we get to pick the photos and add the videos that were played on it, It was also the talk of the wedding with everyone after. The video footage we received from everyone is still bringing joy to our faces. They even had a video screen and projector that we rented to play a surprise video for my wife! Amazing!! Maui DJ Services is professional, affordable, and easy to communicate with via email and online forms.  Michael DJ'd/MC'd our wedding on April 28, and was warm, friendly, and accommodating, working well with our wedding coordinator to keep the night moving through dinner, dancing, etc.  He was flexible, including our requested songs (even a random one we had an mp3 file of), and was also ready for a very unexpected Hora dance to Hava Nagila.  I recommend Maui DJ Services and DJ Michael for both Kamaaina and destination weddings and events, and would absolutely book them again!  Mahalo nui loa, Michael and Scott! DJ Michael from Maui DJ Services was AMAZING. He handled our wedding reception on July 15th at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua seamlessly, from introductions to first dance to cake cutting and speeches, to opening up the dance floor. Michael was very professional and personable, and made the whole reception run perfectly. His song choices were amazing (we included only a few songs in the questionaire, which he based his music selection off of), and his energy and awesome music kept people on the dance floor (and some of them normally don't like to dance!). You're wedding is one of the most important and expensive events you'll ever plan.  Selecting a DJ is one of the most important vendors for a wedding.  I've been to weddings where no one was dancing or having fun.  It was extremely important to us that all of our guests have a blast.  We selected Maui DJ Services for our wedding on May 5, 2017 at the Ritz Carlton.  Our wedding coordinator highly recommended them and they were spot on!  Organizing a destination wedding is quite a task and we left the music till the last minute.  The owner Scott reached out and had a form for us to complete.  Wow are they organized and take out all of the guess work!  They had top music lists by genre, reception, dinner, slow, etc.  They made our life so much easier!  On the day of the event, we met Michael who was our DJ.  He did a fantastic job MCing our wedding.  He was so much fun!  He got everyone up dancing, kept the pace going from 1st dance to dinner into dancing.  Everyone at the wedding raved about him.  I remember him having a big smile the entire night with high energy.  Thank you so much for making our wedding memorable.   Making sure our guests had fun was so important to us and thanks to DJ Maui Services and Michael that happened!  I highly recommend.   No need to continue to research, just pick them! Michael DJ'd our wedding at Olowalu Plantation House last month and we couldn't be happier! My husband and I work in the music industry so we had some very specific music requests, all of which Michael handled beautifully. The music at our wedding was amazing and we received lots of compliments from our guests. We also had two surprise performances (one by my husband and one a duet by the two of us) and Michael handled both surprises with ease and grace. We pulled off both swimmingly thanks to his expert MC'ing.Michael will attest that our wedding was one of the more unique weddings the venue has seen, as it poured rain for most of the afternoon and evening. As a result, we had a few last minute "set changes" and Michael did a phenomenal job explaining these changes to our guests and keeping them engaged. Our wedding planner, Sandra (A Maui Wedding Day) nailed this one on the head when she recommended Maui DJ Services! Don't look any further! Just trust the reviews! :)Michael was so amazing to work with. He's extremely personable and made the entire reception so fun! He asked us questions to make sure that he had the correct information (we switched things up last minute). He was able to read the crowd and made sure that people were dancing! Scott Doran our DJ from Maui DJ Services was everything and more than we could have asked for! He had such an important role in our wedding and with his attention to detail and enthusiasm he made our reception a big success! Prior to the wedding he was in prompt email correspondence and made sure to cover all the bases. We loved Scott. He was incredibly thorough with the lead up to our wedding - he met us a year out from our wedding when we were visiting the island and we went over all our options for DJ services including lighting. He was great with all email correspondence and met with us a few days prior to the wedding as well to finalise the arrangements. We had some special requests to make our wedding personalised and Scott was able to help us make that happen with providing a projector. He was a great MC on the night, it seemed effortless. He was great at getting the party vibes going and he did his absolute best with keeping those vibes going despite Maui's noise restrictions in outdoor venues. AMAZING! My wedding was on May 29th with Scott from Maui DJ Services. Communication was easy and my emails were always answered promptly. We gave Scott a list of music from a few different genres. I was honestly concerned as to how he would be able to transition from one song to the next when some of the songs were in languages he doesn't even speak and some that he probably never even heard before, but Scott did such an awesome job that everything flowed so perfectly. My kids were asking him to play certain songs and not only did he accommodate their requests, but he treated them with respect, and was very patient and sweet with them. The Dj and his skills with music set the tone for any event, and honestly I can say that the reception wouldn't have been the same if we had chosen another DJ service.  I had a destination wedding and was unable to meet anyone in person before the ceremony, but Scott came up to me and introduced himself and talked with me for a while before the wedding started so I could feel more comfortable. My husband and I can't praise Scott enough for the excellent job that he did. If we could give Scott and Maui DJ Services  more than 5 stars we would. From the very first conversation it was clear that Scott was not only professional but very easy to communicate with and made us feel so comfortable. Responses to emails and phone calls was very quick and everything was made clear from the beginning. Chris and I were very late getting in our preferences for music and Scott was more than understanding and played all the music we had requested. We had a small reception of just 22 people and yet it felt more like 100! Scott kept the party going until the very last song! The selection of music to the MC professionalism was second to none. The dance floor was never empty and everyone commented on how great the after party was.We highly recommend DJ Scott to anyone planning a wedding or any event on the island of Maui. We had a destination wedding on Maui in February 22, 2016.  Our reception was at the Montage Kapalua Bay.  From the beginning, Scott was enthusiastic and warm.  He immediately sent us planning tools and great ideas to help personalize the music.  He was very easy to reach and always responsive.  My husband is very detail-oriented and even when he discussed technicalities and fine points with Scott, Scott remained receptive and totally excited about our party.  At the actual reception, he was such a sweetheart and really kept the party going.  We had such an awesome time.  I have great (and hilarious) wedding photos of everyone on the dance floor, so thank you Scott for keeping everyone on the dance floor! Michael was the DJ for our wedding in Maui and he did a fantastic job.  I was a bit nervous before the event because we wanted our wedding playlist to be split between Indian songs and American songs (I gave him the Indian songs to play and for the most part let him pick the American songs), and I didn't know how it would come off - but he did a great job of weaving between the two genres and playing to the crowd.  We only talked live once before the event (though to be fair we had many email exchanges) but he was able to get a good sense of what type of music we wanted during each part of our event and executed well.  He was extremely friendly and professional with our guests.  Would definitely recommend - even for anyone considering a mixed genre playlist like ours. Their five-star rating says it all. I can't speak highly enough about Maui DJ Services. My husband and I got married at the Sheraton Resort & Spa in Maui on 10/3/15, and DJ Michael was amazing. His energy is so great, and he really has a solid intuition and instinct about what songs to play when, and how to transition between them. You can't teach that! How's about another 5-star review, but this time from a local's perspective?We've used DJ Scott numerous times for parties at our home.  Scott is very professional, smiley, and has a great personality.  His dee-jay skills are top notch as well.  He's the total package!   He and his assistant arrived early to set up, and was ready to go even before guests arrived.  His equipment is high tech; MacBook, good speakers, and cool lighting.  We did an 80's theme party, which he also dressed up for in MC Hammer attire, and was able to fulfill the playlist as well as all requests given to him.  The sound was clean with smooth blends.  We did break theme and asked him to play some current songs as well, which made the party even more fun and memorable. I came to the conclusion that Scott was the best DJ I could have had for my wedding!! I'm the type of person that does a lot of research before making a decision and finding a DJ was no exception. After a lot of online research, emails and phone calls, I realized that Scott was definitely the best I could get for quality and price. He was super responsive in all the emails, very flexible with the songs, very friendly and just a pleasure to work with! I got to say that if the LED dance floor was one of the highlights of my wedding. I worked with DJ Michael on a client's destination wedding in Maui at Sugar Beach Events as the planner.  My bride and I flew out a couple months before the wedding and Michael met with us to answer all our questions patiently.  He and owner Scott were also very responsive over email and on top of all my questions.  We had an interesting music setup - live music for most of the wedding, then transitioning over to Michael so that we could amp up the atmosphere for dancing.  That's a lot of pressure to put on a DJ, but Michael rose to the occasion and got everyone up on the dance floor - there was even a girls vs. guys dance-off at one point!  The bride and groom made some music selections, and Michael seamlessly wove in tracks that he chose to fit their style.  One of the wedding guests told me that the music being played was AWESOME!Thanks for rockin' it, Michael! Scott is awesome! He is quick to respond to emails and calls if needed. He is friendly and personable. He helps you get organized by providing a Master List to guide you and for you to put in your songs for the night. He also provides a very comprehensive list of songs to choose from as well. We made many last min changes, he had no problem incorporating them into the evening. The sound system/quality was great! Our first dance was a romantic dance with a transition into a fun dance, he made it seamless. He was humorous, made the night fun for everyone and most importantly helped us stay on schedule! Working with Scott Duran was an absolute pleasure.  I am very particular with my music and he was able to accommodate all our requests and adapt to the music I love.   I provided a playlist of songs we wanted to hear at different parts of the wedding reception (dinner, well wish dance and open dancing) and he was able to play those songs and songs within that genre/era. DJ Scotty was amazing! We got married in Maui at the Olowalu plantation and had nothing short of a picture perfect night. DJ Scotty was great to work with, very friendly and adaptable to our off the cuff personalities ! Scott and Michael did the sound, lighting and DJing for our outdoor wedding in Maui.  We had over 120 guests and picked an extremely windy beach park for our ceremony and reception.  He was able to overcome wind, last minute changes and the fact that we were hundreds of feet away from the nearest outlet.  He wired me and our minister up so our guests could hear every word of the ceremony perfectly.At the reception Scott's timing, reliability, taste, and professionalism was phenomenal. He kept an eye on the clock and worked to keep things moving for our guests.  He timed all of our special dance songs perfectly and their equipment was perfectly setup so that everyone could clearly hear all of the touching speeches.  He sent us a list of popular wedding songs as a guide months before the ceremony, we picked a few and asked him to fill in the rest.  Our guests ranged widely in age and people who NEVER dance were up on the dance floor having a blast. The music was the perfect volume and the pace was great. Look out its DJ Scott in the House!!! He was without a doubt the most professional, friendly, reliable and down to earth person ever! !!If you want your guests to have an amazing dance party you found the guy right here.  DJ Scott was recommended to us by our wedding coordinator, Jacqueline from White Orchid Wedding.  (Thanks Jackie!)As soon as we arrived at our venue (Olowalu Plantation House), our favorite Hawaiian songs were playing in the background.  And when it was time to introduce the wedding party, DJ Scott's professional emcee voice and music skills really got the party started, and he took the wedding to a whole new level!  We had special dances (first dance, money/wish dance) to which DJ Scott transitioned the music perfectly.  There were songs on the 'must play' list he mixed very well and our dance floor was used all night long. The entire night I (the bride) did not leave the dance floor (I've got video evidence of this, lol).  The tunes were rockin', the laser lights were going, and we all had truly an amazing time!!!
