My family and I had the pleasure of having DJ Rival spin music for my daughter's sweet 16 party. He was on time and very professional and has very high-end equipment which made the presentation of his DJ booth seem larger than life. DJ Rival - Joseph... was the most patience, professional DJ who met all the MY needs as a BRIDE.  Referred by a friend & was super easy to work with on every aspect.  I had reached out to him early on once I knew we needed a DJ and even met so early on for wedding (8 months before LOL) and yet Joseph was so professional, on time & always had a smile on his face.  We met and as the bride I was a little scattered brain and continued to communicate, email after email and text etc. and at one point I think I had sent many dissertations of songs and request but at the end DJ Rival did the most amazing DJ service.  We couldn't of asked for anyone better then what we got.  He catered to our needs as we requested and went above and beyond what I could ever imagine for our wedding day.  All of our guest had a fabulous time and we truly appreciate all your hardwork and going thru all the motions and delivering the best day ever.  Not knowing until later that evening he was the only one working by himself for this wedding... he DID AWESOME and pulled it off professionally, with style and was dress to impress... equipment was fabulous (great set up) & I wished we were able to have chatted more because you were JUST AMAZING... on point w/ all of the instructions on the specific music we requested for wedding ceremony and thru out the evening!! A DJ with a heart...After my daughter survived multiple seizures, strokes, and brain surgeries while on life support at CHOC hospital we decided to celebrate her life. Drs said my daughter was a miracle, and they named her Miracle Maddy. I contacted at least 15 other DJ's in the Los Angeles and Orange County Area, and no-one wanted to help up celebrate. We could not afford much after spending months in the hospital with Maddy, and out of work. DJ Rival had a heart, he heard my story and immediately said he wanted to be a part of this amazing story. We also got an offer from a large DJ Company which said they would help for free. After communicating with both DJ's we decided that DJ Rival was the one! His compassion and confidence won us over. And wow!!! He really knows how to party!!! He was able to keep the entire party dancing and singing! We had over 150 guests for my daughters 7th birthday celebration, and DJ Rival kept both the kids and adults dancing with amazing music! He was professional, and engaging as he kept the atmosphere upbeat. I was so thankful that KTLA5 news covered the party and gave DJ Rival props in their story; because he really deserved it! I initially found Joseph MONTHS before my actual wedding but it's not like you can really interview or see a DJS work and so I just went with my gut and booked him anyways . He's very responsive and played all my the music we wanted and had the floor busy. He even customized my first dance song and it was amazing. He really made my wedding remarkable and I am forever grateful for him. He's affordable and I recommended him to another company before I actually hired him and he's done plenty of events for them as well. Last minute we added the garter toss and bouquet toss and he didn't even seem annoyed that I did that. Joseph thank you so much for being there and making sure  everyone had a good time . DJ Rival is the best Yelp find I've ever made!  I hired him for my parent's 60th Wedding Anniversary party.  Found him on Yelp then checked out his website.  Emailed him to see if he was available on the event date and he replied within 30 minutes.  Warned him that I had a particular playlist (suitable for the young & old) and he said no problem because he downloads the music all on his own time.  He even found the exact soundtrack for this very obscure Hawaiian song that our entertainment requested!  DJ Rival is cool & smooth yet very comfortable to talk to.  Such a nice guy who knows his stuff just like a real professional should.  He researched the venue ahead of time and saw the decor was mostly white so he also wore white.  Little stuff like that says a lot about his professionalism.  He was my only vendor for the event who gave me no issues to worry about...I mean absolutely zero issues!  He arrived right when he said he would and was able to follow a rough timeline of events that I gave him like he wrote it himself.  When the events started to drift off the timeline a bit, he immediately asked me if he should hurry this up or slow this down.  A DJ at his finest.  It was a Filipino type party with over 100 guests and DJ Rival fit right in because he is a pro!  Be sure and tip him well because his prices are too good for what he brings to an event! My sister and I hired DJ Rival for a surprise party for our mother's 60th with a 70s/disco theme a few days ago. The music/dancing was the main part of our outdoor party. Our family is a bunch of finicky white people, but DJ was good about switching genres of music at our/anyone's request. We would say "ok, play disco next; play motown next" since everyone had different tastes, and he was quick to keep the music going and go with the flow.He was punctual, professional, dressed well, and had a great set-up. Best of all, his fee was very affordable. I want to start off by saying that I have known DJ Rival for almost 20 years now, we just recently had him DJ for my dads 60th birthday party and everyone had a blast! The music was flowing and everyone was dancing! Even though he is my friend he was still so professional and sent over the contract well in advance, he reached out to me a week before the party to ask for our genre of music that we wanted to play and asked me if I had any special request! I must have changed our start time Like 3 different times and each request was always answered with a sure, no problem! We had DJ Rival DJ our wedding 04.08.17. At first I was afraid to find/hire a DJ from yelp. My cousin had recently gotten married found a DIFFERENT DJ on yelp with good reviews who did not show the day of. DJ Rival responded quickly, did a day of run through by phone, sent a final check in the day before and was there! I don't believe we actually "met" at our wedding. I think the most important thing in your wedding is having the right DJ. We found an amazing DJ in DJ Rival from the moment we first spoke he was a professional and easy to work with. He also reached out to us too see if we had a specific type of music we wanted to listen in our event we gave him a list and was an amazing playlist this guy knows his stuff. I found DJ Rival on Craigslist and hired him for my wedding. He was amazing! I didn't give him a playlist to work from. Instead, I asked him to play a mix of 80s dance music and some funky current music, and he managed to play exactly what we wanted to hear. Our guests (young and old) loved the music too, and we all had a blast dancing until midnight. The venue had a tricky setup for the ceremony and reception that required DJ Rival to move equipment around, but he handled the situation like a pro. He was also accommodating and flexible with slight changes that we made last minute - like our entrance into the reception area (he picked a great song for that!), song requests, logistical changes, etc., and we really appreciated that. His setup was good as well. He brought his own table, linen, partition, colorful strobe lights, 2 big speakers, a microphone, mixer, laptop, etc., which was great. He had it all - we didn't need to rent anything else. His services were really affordable too and right within our budget. On top of all that, he was a super friendly, professional guy. I booked DJ Rival for my daughter's 7th birthday party. It was a surprise karaoke party, DJ Rival was great with all my wishes,  he even went out of his way to play the  Frozen songs as we surprised my daughter (that made it more exciting when she walked in) DJ Rival was on time and ready to work with all his equipment, he played all the music we agreed on before hand and was happy to play music by request by my little girl. DJ Rival started Karaoke on time as agreed and kept the beat going even as some of the karaoke guests where getting ready to come on. DJ Rival had all the karaoke songs guest requested (Even some Spanish old songs)  He was on top of everything DJ and Karaoke related in our party so that I could take care of the rest.
