I just accidentally found this place tonight and I definitely will be back!!! Great music and I love how the DJ allows the song to end completely so we can tell it’s time to switch up. I love the open space and non-judgmental feel of the dance classroom setting. I brought friend in with me and he had never danced like that ever in his life. He seemed to really enjoy it! I sure did! Drove up from RVA, with a few friends, to the Sunday evening Salsa Underground Social and had a blast. The music was awesome; the people were very friendly and the atmosphere was fun and alive. This was only my second time in the place, being fairly new to the Salsa scene, but I’ll definitely be making this short road trip a lot more often. There are few social venues (inside and outside the latin dance community) that make you want to keep coming back time and again. Salsa Underground is one of them, hands down. It stands apart above the rest. Not only is the music fresh, diverse, and soulfully rhythmic, but Dola and Mambosoul have infectiously infused their sincere passion for the music into every person that walks through the door.
