As someone who executes banquets and events for a living, I was throughly impressed my Direct My Day. Lauren was on top it from day one! We had originally booked with a different planner, but we were not feeling like we were a priority with them. So we decided to look elsewhere and were lucky to stumble across DMD. Any silly question we had she was there to give advice and support through every step of the way. We had originally just booked them for our planning process but then decided to go with them for our bar as well! I hired Lauren for my “day of coordinator” and honestly can not say enough great things about her in 30 words! She helped with anything I asked of her leading up to my big day. She was full of suggestions and advice throughout my planning process. My rehearsal went off without a hitch. She was JUST what we needed! As for my wedding day, she worked her butt off! She was there setting up and pointing people in the right direction while simultaneously popping in to check on me periodically. I hired Lauren to be my day of coordinator for my March 31st, 2019 wedding at the Charleston Yacht club in downtown Charleston, SC. I couldn’t have made a better choice.
I consider myself to be a pretty picky and particular person and my fiancé and I spent a lot of time planning and detailing every aspect of our wedding. Because of that, I was a little apprehensive about leaving all of my blood, sweat and tears from months of planning in the hands of a complete stranger and hoping that my vision and plan would be manifested, but that’s exactly what happened.
I’m a bit of a control freak and wanted to make sure all the centerpieces, décor, signs, and details would all be placed exactly as I envisioned, but since I had to start hair and makeup early in the morning in time for our First Look, I had no control. I left EVERYTHING in the hands of Lauren and she did a spectacular job.
She set up EVERYTHING! All the signs, ceremony and reception décor, centerpieces, place settings, gift table etc. were placed perfectly. She made everything look beautiful and better than I had imagined.
Even when things went wrong (and something will guaranteed not go as expected), she was there to help. My flower crown from the florist was not the right size and the bouquets were not as I had wanted. Lauren called the florist to come back and get everything fixed. We had an outdoor wedding and the rain held off until about the middle of the ceremony. When the guests scrambled for shelter, Lauren rushed up to hold the umbrella over our officiant so he could see to finish our ceremony and vows.
She was great at keeping our timeline and telling us when it was time for our first dance, and cake cutting etc. She checked on us to see if we needed anything and packed everything back up so when it was time to leave, we were all ready to go.
I can’t say enough kind words about Lauren. I was considering cutting costs and trying to have family help set up and do things myself, but I highly recommend spending the extra money for at least the day of coordinating. It’s totally worth every penny for the peace of mind. I would choose Direct My Day again in a heartbeat. You won’t be disappointed.

Our wedding was 3/23 at Creek Club of Ion and Lauren was a tremendous help!! She certainly knows how to work a wedding and is prepared for anything that happens. I cannot even put into words how incredibly impressed I am with Lauren and Direct My Day. Lauren and her team went above and beyond to make our wedding so perfect. Our guests have even told us after the wedding that our planner was amazing and was so organized. How often do your guests rave about a wedding planner Lauren was there any time we had a question or concern, months before the wedding. We chose the day of coordination package, so we had one meeting before the wedding and unlimited communication beforehand. I think this worked perfectly for us!
She definitely knows what she is doing and is not afraid to get onto vendors for you! She set up so much by herself I am truly amazed. Lauren made sure my husband and I ate and always had a drink in hand the whole night!

Lauren did a fantastic job of keeping our wedding ceremony and reception organized and on time. She helped make our backup rain plan feel like the original plan and the entire day was better than I could have imagined! I did most of my planning on my own and found all of my vendors but when I got closer to the end I realized I was definitely going to need someone to assist with the day. I used Lauren and her team for Day of Coordinator and bar services and I can't thank them enough for such wonderful services they provided on my big day. We got engaged in June and because we chose an October wedding, we only had 3.5 months to plan a wedding. Luckily, I had the entire wedding planned just short of 5 weeks and thanks to direct my day, Lauren made it all fall into the perfect fairy tale wedding day. She claims she is a “day of coordinator” but she’s actually so much more than that. She was willing to meet, text, email, and provide extra services ANY time we needed her. She even met me at the bridal salon to learn how to bustle my wedding dress due to family being out of state. On top of that, she also helped my husband to get my new monogram made on several gifts for our honeymoon trip which I felt was not only adorable but the cutest gift ever. The day of our wedding, we also forgot our champagne glasses at our house, leave it to lauren- she took my keys, not knowing where she was even going and those glasses were on that table ready for us in no time. We hired Lauren to be our wedding coordinator at Goldbug in Charleston, SC. She was very easy to work with and really took charge when I needed her most. She helped me make decisions and she even did a few favors for me (going above and beyond) that i didn't expect, but was so relieved that she didn't mind helping out. Although some hiccups happened (of course....mainly groomsman related...haha) she remained calm and collected. She made a plan to fix the issue and none of my guests even noticed. I booked them as day of coordinators, after half way through planning my self from a different city and state, and realizing that I would need help. We did a meet up, phone calls and I emailed pictures of examples of how I wanted my wedding, and they made it happen.
