This one my new favorite place to get BBQ. The pulled pork with the sweet bbq is superb. The Texas chili is really good with just a nice touch of heat. Super friendly staff. To me this place is cheap compared to some of the BBQ restaurants out there and I like it a lot. For the low price they don't skimp on flavor or portions. I highly recommend this place if you are in need of some good BBQ. Will eat here again and again. More...

What a fun little joint! Still the same friendly staff and fast food. But when I say fast food I don't mean fake food! You can see the cooks in action during the summer time, grilling up hundreds of chickens outdoors. My recent favorite is their brisket dinner (half pound!) with Carolina sauce and jalapeño potato salad! You get a corn bread with it too! Reasonably priced for fresh food smoked daily. More...

Always fast and friendly whenever I come for lunch or when I'm here with my family. Never had a bad experience. It might be crowded more around noon or when ever everyone is coming back from work. It happens to lots of places. I hope that this place stays as long as it can. I enjoy their foot long hog dog. It is always juicy and delicious. More...

I think we can all agree that BBQ in the North jus ain't the same as the South. Just like Chicago style pizza tastes better in the Windy City. With that said, there's no where in the North I'd rather go than Hog Wild to get my BBQ. I personally recommend just the pulled pork sandwich, but there really isn't a bad menu item. I've had the ribs, the brisket, the chicken, etc. I honestly love them all. The reason I get the pulled pork is because I just can't eat like I used to, so the portion is a bit more manageable. The best side in my opinion is the corn cake, but the baked beans are right up there. I usually pair the two. Put those two with the pulled pork and that's a mighty lunch right there!I come here once a month to get my fix but if my budget and diet allowed it I'd be here weekly. P.s. best seasonal item is the roasted turkey around harvest time. Oh boy. You need to visit around then. More...

Service was extremely fast, and the BBQ pulled pork sandwich was incredible! The chicken was pretty dry though and the "hog trough" of mac & cheese was a tiny side cup for $7 that my 2 year old finished off in less than 5 minutes, tasty but way too expensive for the teeny tiny amount. More...

We stopped by here on our way back from Holland, Michigan and we were happy with our choice! We ordered:Bbq ribs - these were very good with lots of bbq sauce. They are not too fall-off-the-bone, which I prefer. I liked it with their spicy bbq sauce.Pulled pork - these were a bit dry for me but were still good with the sauces on the table.Half chicken - the chicken was excellent, it had really good smoked flavor. This was my favorite item.Sausages - amazing, I couldn't get enough of them.. another favorite of mine.Mac n cheese with bacon - I wasn't a big fan, the noodles were a bit too mushy and wasn't as cheesy as I'd like it to be. Pork beans and cornbread - both were delicious. The food came out quick and portion was good. I would definitely revisit if I'm around the area! More...

This place was in the Top 10 list for Michigan Bbq.I ordered the 3 meat platter. I got a Rib, Pulled Pork, and Beef Brisket. It came with 1 side and a Corn Cake. I got Pork & Beans as the side and got an extra side of Applesauce. The simple answer is all 3 meats were Great. I would eat here any time I'm in the area. The Pork & Beans were well below average. However adding some bbq sauce picked them right up and made them good. The Applesauce was exceptional. One of the top 5 I've ever had. Lastly the Corn Cake was awesome and restored my love of corn bread.Overall this was a 4 1/2 star bbq joint. Since I have to round and it wasn't perfect I'll give 4 stars. While I did love the bbq it's not as good as Slows in Grand Rapids. Top notch though. One last thing. Good job on good bbq sauces. More...

Decent place. Their portions are quite small compared to other Bbq joints; however, that's how it should be! I was expecting that we had to share food, but we definitely did not. I ordered the ribs and chicken bbq platter. My husband had the beef brisket which he LOVED. My stepson ordered a hot dog. It was the least appetizing hot dog I have ever seen though! Don't order it. He picked pulled pork and ribs. He loved the pulled pork. He raved and complimented it through the whole meal. He wants to go back. I had the special pulled chicken sandwich and a side for 5.99. Very good chicken. I had cole slaw which was purple cabbage based it was just ok. He had Mac and cheese. He said it was ok but not as great as ours. We make ours baked.  He loved the corn cake. I stopped in today while running some errands.  Unfortunately I wasn't even hungry but knew that if I skipped lunch then by 3 p. m. I'd be really hungry and wanting to eat my supper way too early in the evening which would set me up for having a very late final meal right before going to sleep for the night.  I explained my predicament to the lady working behind the counter and she informed me that unfortunately they don't have any small sandwiches since I'd asked her if they have any small sandwiches.  She was nice though and did suggest maybe ordering a chowder or soup to hold me over since I wasn't too hungry.  While I did appreciate her trying to work with my weird situation I ended up getting a pulled pork sandwich.  Yep, like she said it was not a small sandwich, not huge but not small either.  The flavor of it was pretty good and I did enjoy it, but I found myself not nearly as happy as I'd been on a couple previous visits to this restaurant.  After giving it some thought I had an ah ha moment and it finally dawned on me that of course it didn't taste as good as I remembered since no food tastes as good when you're not the least bit hungry.  Duh, I should have figured that one out faster.  So instead of rating my visit today on what I thought of todays sandwich I'm rating it on how happy I was on previous visits when I was hungry when I sat down to eat.  This may not be fair to the restaurant since I'm old and forgetful so who knows maybe I should be giving it 5 stars instead of only 4.  So to be fair to this place sometime in the next couple weeks I'll come back when I'm hungry and have another meal here and will update my review at that time.  If you have a hankering for barbeque this is a good place to check out. I had been wanting to try this for a long time.. , as I live just under 2 miles away...and Friday (May 2, 2014)  I had a incredible craving for BBQ.   So I stopped in for some take out.  They do have BBQ!  Chicken, Sausage, Pulled Pork, Baby Back Ribs, Ribs and Brisket.  Sandwiches and Dinners.   I finally decided on the 1/2 Slab of Baby Back Ribs, with mashed potatoes and gravy and the corn cake.  It was only $8.99   Good price, and was very yummy.. and generous.  I had enough for 2 meals.   It was very worth the $$, was just about as quick as driving through a fast food lane, and it was enough for 2.    A co-worker of mine that was working in town recommends the Brisket Sandwich.  Maybe try that next time.I recommend it.. and will be back again soon. This is definitely one of the best BBQ places around the lakeshore(agreed this area isn't the BBQ Mecca of the US). The brisket is always great, the chicken is also quite good. I get the Carolina sauce every time which is the bomb! The other sauces are OK, but not even close to the Carolina . The sides are kind of hit and miss: get the chili and the Mac and cheese. There is limited seating and not a great dine in atmosphere, so we usually get carry out! The staff is always nice and the food is reasonably priced. More...

First off is a disclaimer. Michigan is hardly a Mecca for great BBQ and west Michigan even less so. I gave them 4 stars because it's the best BBQ I've had within a 100 miles. It's no salt lick BBQ or even Slows out in Detroit, but it is very good for the location. I are the ribs and ordered a pick three with the sausage, brisket and pulled pork all with the sweet BBQ sauce. I would not recommend the pulled pork sandwich as I noticed they just used run of the mill Aunt Millie's buns. I also got the mac n cheese and potato salad on the side. The potato salad was your standard boiler plate potato salad, but it was well seasoned and not over mayoed. The Mac n cheese was bland and the noodles were soggy and over cooked, even the bacon couldn't save this one. The meats were all very well made, smoky and well seasoned and very moist. The brisket was probably the best with a rich smoky flavor balanced with the very sweet sauce. (Note: the sweet BBQ May be overly sweet for some people) The ribs were also very good and fell right off the bone, they were heavily sauced and influenced by Kansas City BBQ for sure. They were very tasty. The sausage and pulled pork were both pretty good, but nothing to write home about. The sausage may be a little salty for some people and the pulled pork was just average. This was my first visit and I would definitely make a second and recommend this place. The service was friendly and fast. The prices were relatively cheap too. It's worth checking out especially because there aren't many BBQ places around here to try and this place knocks the socks off of tgi Fridays or any of those chains. More...

My 5 year old loves this place.  We focus on the brisket and the ribs.  I usually get sauce on the side, and enjoy the Carolina sauce.  Kids like the sweet barbeque.  We either get the order togo and eat at home or on the weekends we sit outside next to the grill.  Service can be curt, but the food always shows up quickly so I let the bad service slide.  We usually don't even get to the sides.  I did try the mac and cheese once but cold mac and cheese doesn't do it for me.
