A great place in thousand oaks for a Persian/middle eastern store with a cute cosy restaurant. Unique finds (like teas, coffees, snacks, drinks and food) Great deals on restaurant food. Friendly and kind owners, extremely helpful and they do everything to make a customer happy. They even have halal meats. Would definitely recommend this place for everyone to visit. Last but not least they even have amazing deals and discounts More...

Was here for lunch the other day and it was a good experience. They have an okay sized parking lot the restaurant itself is small actually there is no place to really sit to eat just outside. They have a store right next to it witch is connected so that's nice. The good itself was good I ordered the boneless chicken dish it came with rice and those tomato's. Overall it was good experience and would come back in the near by future. More...

Diar Kitchen is both a restaurant (mainly to-go, only a handful of tables) and a Persian market. The market is incredibly well-stocked with Persian staples, produce, sweets, bread, etc. Very impressed by the breadth of selection in a compact space. While shopping for Persian New Year items (to create the decorative altar, the "haft sin") the owner was very helpful and helped me pick out several of the items I needed. We also ordered th ground beef kabob and a Persian stew called ghorma sabzi...very, very good!! Plentiful portions very well-priced. In short, this is a hidden gem of a market and take-out restaurant, highly recommended. More...

Pretty bomb!! Kind of tucked away and I didn't even know it was their for years. My boss in LA introduced me to Persian cuisine and coming from a foodie who likes everything, I became obsessed! So had to try a local spot. Went one day and ordered some to-go food. Delicious mast o musir (shallot yogurt dip) and adas polo (rice filled with yummy lentils, dates, raisins). They give you a nice little pack on the side with bread, some seasonings, cutlery, napkins, etc.Tiny bit more cost wise than a cheap lunch place, but well worth it. Big portions, great quality. Will be back eventually. More...

So, you can come for kebab and shop while you wait. Diar has grocery, produce, breads, meats and some cooking and hosting equipment (tea and other serving equip). They have some pre-packaged desserts and some made in house (bamieh and baklava). This market is significantly smaller than markets 30 mins away, but this is a perfect market for Thousand Oaks. Looking for authentic Persian food? Then ya gotta come here! Most meals come with your choice of quality beef, chicken, or lamb, that's served with plenty of yummy basmati rice, grilled tomatoes or veggies. I cannot express how perfectly cooked the chicken is (my fav is #12). You get HUGE chicken pieces, more than you could probably finish for an average eater. You'll get a side of naan bread, lemon, and this amazing yogurt-like dip that you should eat your entire meal with (I always ask for extra), and spices to add to your liking. You'll meet the most friendly people who love to serve you. If you come often they'll for sure notice you and continue to give great customer service. Best part is that you're given so much breath taking food for such an affordable price that you'll be back for more! More...

Nice place to get your kabob dinner to go.   Ordered a few kabob plates 'family style' which means they package it up nicely in aluminum containers.  Makes serving much easier at home.   I shopped at the attached market for extra flat bread 'lavash', humus, & shallot dip.   After I found my items, my dinner order was ready... Practically no wait at all then.   Let's say 10 mins.   You pay for everything at the counter at attached market.  Place was super clean.Service was nice and efficient.  Food was ok.    Generous portions.   Take out packed with care.   My family enjoyed the beef kobideh.   The chicken kobideh was a little dry.  I'd recommend this place and I'd definitely be back. Getting sick and tired of the same old stuff in my city, I decided to look up what possibilities I have for food out of my "comfort zone". My normal go to would be Mama's Hummus, but I wanted to give other places a shot and came across Diar. It is located in it's own plaza/parking log, with a really small dining area, with about 95% of it being a market (groceries). The menu isn't big, but I knew I wanted chicken and beef koobideh. I also ordered the eggplant dip (Kashkeh Bademjan). The chicken and beef are both flavorful. They were not juicy, but were not dry either. It was good, but I've had more flavorful and juicier koobideh. The garlic sauce was great with smearing it on the kabobs. The combo price on their website is no longer $9.99, it is now $10.99, the dip is still $6.99. Eggplant dip was good, but I've had a better version of it at other places. I probably would not get this again. They give you a side of garlic sauce, sumac, lemon, and flatbread (I believe for the dip). Over all, a good alternative, especially since the Persian market that had a cafe closed down and not too far from my home. I will be back to try the other kebabs. More...

The new take out section they added is amazing. Please get their "barg" which is the best filet mignon you will have in your entire life. Honestly it's even better than your 5 star restaurants or steak houses at a fraction of the cost with the best quality! You will not be disappointed!   Next they have the best hot rice and side dishes like the yogurt with cucumber and yogurt with shallots. Chicken kabob "Kornish" is also amazing!
