What do you love most about your job?
I LOVE helping people with their restaurant and food photography, or to present their products at their best and in a creative way. I also "follow the rules" for sites like Amazon, and create product images that have a "look" that meshes with your Etsy site, your web site, or your general aesthetic.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Helping others with my skill and talent is at the center of my business. I want to help other makers be successful in building their own businesses as entrepreneurs.
Why should our clients choose you?
I love photography and I bring that care to every photo shoot. My desire to provide an excellent experience and product is the core of my business. I am fine-art trained, attending the New York School of Photography for a degree, and have a good eye for adding backgrounds and props for lifestyle shoots that add to your product, not take away from it. I am set up for remote photoshoots where you, the client, can see the photography in progress and comment as we go.

I can provide product photography sessions remotely at this time for the safety of everyone. I have software that allows you to "be in the studio" online as I style and shoot your products. You can see the photos as they are taken. I have protected storage and security systems to keep your sample products safe and secure. As part of the agreement, I will ask you to pay for and send your products via UPS (get the guaranteed packing service at the UPS store), insured. I will return the products the same way: UPS packed and package, with a prepaid UPS. Or you can write off the product if photographing it means opening or using with product, and I can dispose of it. Note that the shipping cost for your marketing (photography) and shipping should be a tax-deductible expense for your business. Keep your receipts.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I handle all products with surgical gloves and wear a new mask for each product shoot. As soon as the products are photographed, I put on gloves and pack the product up in appropriate way (packing paper wrapped in cling wrap, or in plastic bags, or other safe storage methods, depending on the product) and store them in a storage area until I am ready to send your samples back to you, if you desire your products to be returned to you. Restaurant & Food Photography
Adding a few new dishes to your menu? I can get your wonderful food documented and ready to show to the world! Food styling included, and if you want staff and restaurant photos, I can do those too. I can also provide drink photography, and portraits of your chef or other staff.
Reasonable rates. Menu layout assistance if needed. You get full resolution print photos with low-res copies for Facebook, Instagram, or Facebook, ready to post.
Please note: COVID precautions are required and I will wear a mask when working in your location.

Product Photography
Do you have a product to sell online on your site, Etsy, or Amazon? I can create great photos that meet the requirements for placement on Amazon (white background, size, resolution, etc.) or that meet your esthetic on Etsy with beautiful backgrounds and staging. (Note, I do not do clothing, unless you want a flat-lay overhead versionn (no models). Please let me know in your request if that is ok.)
I can pick up and deliver your small products (using COVID precautions) if you are within 20 miles of Austin, Texas.
IMPORTANT: If you are not in the Austin. Texas area, you will need to ship your products via UPS (United Parcel Services, not the post office!) Insured to my location. If you want them returned, please enclose a prepaid return for UPS and I will return them to you when the shoot is complete and you have approved your photos.

My software allows you to view my studio and the photos as I take them. We can set up a time and you can see exactly how the products are being styled while I shoot!
Product shots are delivered for approval in an online gallery in .jpg or .tif format (web and/or print ready), usually in about two weeks. If you need a rush job, please tell me and I will do my best to accomodate you. As soon as you pay your invoice, you can download the digital files from the gallery.

Product/Commercial Photo Retouching
Did you get some great photos of your products, but... the color seems off? Or there are spots or other issues on the product or background? Or your "white" background isn't really white, it's gray? Or you need a white or transparent background and you don't have it? Are the files too large, or in the wrong format?
I am happy to color correct, remove spots, make a transparent background, or do other photo "fixes" you don't feel you can do yourself. Just send me the digital files to fix up, and I will do the work and upload them to a gallery just for you to download in web-friendly format. Let me know what sales outlet you are using, and I will help you to meet the requirements if possible (as long as there is enough space around your product. If it's Amazon, they require a certain size and space around the object).

Remote Photography Sessions
I can accomodate photo shoots from people all over the country with professional studio software that allows you to watch each shot as it's taken, and provide feedback as we go along. Please let me know if you would like a remote session, whether it's across the city or across the country. You'll be amazed how easy, and fun, it can be.
Recipe Development & Testing with Photography
In conjunction with my husband, Executive Chef Daniel Ost, we can provide recipe development and testing, nutritional information (with a bar code if needed) and professional food photography of your created/baked/cooked recipes.
Chef Dan has worked for Whole Foods in Austin, TX, Hilton Hotels (as a international trainer and executive chef), Rolling Oats Cafe (one of the founders) and in non-profites such as Meals on Wheels.
Diana is a gluten-free baker, recipe tester, recipe developer, food stylist, and professional photographer with experience in restaurant, food, and drink photography, including food trucks and bricks and sticks locations.
