Loved my experience here with the lovely and talented Diana. She was awesome and made me feel at ease along the process of the fitting. Diana was open to ideas and great with suggestions to ensure the gown would have the perfect fit. Quick turnaround and very fair pricing also made for an overall great experience.   My gown turned out beautifully and hugs my curves nicely. Diane Deane has such a warm spirit which is felt as soon as you walk in. Diane’s alterations were absolutely perfect. The first time I met her I explained that I wanted to be able to wear my dress repeatedly and not just have a one day wedding dress. Just had my first dress alteration appointment and I can’t stop smiling, Diana has such an amazing energy and I felt comfortable immediately. I had a great experience getting my wedding dress altered. I'm 5'1" so I needed fairly extensive alterations on a dress with a beaded lace over-layer -- reattached lace hem, bustle, being taken in throughout the waist/hips/bust, and shortening of the sleeves/shoulder area. While it wasn't inexpensive, I think she charged a fair price for the quality of her work, and her prices seemed very competitive for New York bridal alterations. The price I ended up paying was also the same as I was quoted when I requested an estimate via the website, so that seemed upfront. The location was easy to get to right by the subway (I made the trek from Morningside Heights because I couldn't find anything with good reviews and reasonable prices in Manhattan), and my appointments went smoothly. Diana had a very calm energy and took her time making adjustments and addressing my concerns; it also only took one fitting to get the dress completed, and I was able to pick it up a few weeks after I came in for my initial appointment. I was impressed by the turnaround time and the quality of work, especially since I went in March anticipating that it would be a busy season of everyone getting their dresses altered for summer weddings. Diana was AMAZING to work with on my wedding dress alterations. Not only did she do a beyond fantastic job, she fully listened to what I wanted out of the non-returnable dress I purchased and totally delivered. I just needed the dress shortened and the straps taken up, but the skirt was cut on a bias, the overlay was all hand-beading and sequins, and I wanted to take the train in significantly...Diana did all of this without the finished dress looking like it had been altered in any way (other than to fit my body perfectly). I wasn't in a time crunch but I got my dress back from Diana in a couple of weeks and she saved the extra fabric for me in case I wanted to do something with it. The thing that really sets Diana apart, though, is that she was incredibly communicative via email even before I became a client. I had a serious budget to stick to for my wedding and needed to find a seamstress/tailor who could alter my dress without charging me a fortune. Diana understood and asked for a photo of my in the dress before booking an appointment so she could offer a quote. When the quote came in, it was nearly HALF what every other tailor had said for the same work. She also accepts credit cards which is awesome.Diana is also just really, really cool. Her studio is a little hard to find on your first visit--it's in an apartment building, not a storefront, so you have to ring a doorbell to gain entry--but once you're in there she makes you feel comfortable and welcome. I ended up hanging out for an hour when I went to pick up my dress because I was having so much fun talking to Diana and playing with her adorable pup. Would recommend Diana one million percent! Can't say enough good things about this gal. I live in South Slope so getting to her studio in Bushwick is a haul, but it's so worth it. Her space is on the small side but sooooo warm and inviting. She and her assistant are super organized with an online appointment system and check-ins the day before to confirm and remind - really helpful when you're trying to plan a wedding and have a million things on your plate. She makes you feel instantly comfortable without being simpering; I left her studio thinking "what's a not creepy way to ask her to hang out irl." Diana brought my dress vision to life.I bought a Reem Acra wedding dress on Shopbop for $900 and wanted some beautiful beaded straps attached and an asymmetrical hem cut into the tulle. The original dress came with an attached belt which was causing bulk & some issues with the zipper. Diana worked with me for over an hour to figure out a solution. She was about to send me home without the dress so she could figure out a way to make it work -- At which point, I asked her to remove the belt -- it was PERFECT. If she hadn't been patient and worked with me for so long, I'm not sure if we would have discovered this!I was worried about the straps getting in the way or getting stuck in my hair so Diana made them removable. I ended up never taking them off but this was a great option.I am just really sad I probably won't have the opportunity to wear my dress again! More...

Diana is amazing! I bought a wedding dress off the rack at a sample sale and needed a tailor. I was super panicked about finding someone who wouldn't charge me more than the dress cost to tailor it, but would still do a good job. I found Diana on yelp and brought her a couple dresses first to test the waters. She did an awesome job on them and was such a joy to work with. So I brought my wedding dress to her too. I just picked it up today, and I'm so happy!  She also did a custom veil for me. I thought she was very reasonably priced. Diana was awesome and did exceptional work. I bought a BHLDN dress that didn't need alterations, but I made an appointment with Diana because I discovered a small hole in the lace and wanted it fixed so it didn't open up any further. She brilliantly took a small flower off of the lower half of the dress and patched the hole. She also made me a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind lace veil that went beautifully with my dress and added a small bustle to the train. Diana is, very simply, exceptional. I came to her with a difficult job -- the designer I used for my wedding dress delivered a subpar product (the measurements were wrong, the straps were too tight, the workmanship was shoddy, and more), and I had only four weeks time to fix it all. Enter Diana. She gave me a very honest assessment of the work that needed to be done, and then went a step further to consult with the designer to ensure she understood the materials she was working with. Just two weeks later, I had my dream dress back, all thanks to Diana's skill. (Even more, she made --- with my buy-in -- her own creative additions to the dress, which made it even better than before.)Diana is honest, kind, truthful, focused, and a true expert at her craft. In an industry that can very easily rip people off, Diana is one of the good ones (maybe the only good one?). She's a dream to work with and clearly so passionate about what she does. I searched for weeks for someone to tailor my wedding dress. After many rude phone calls with bigger tailoring companies, during which I was consistently told that my minimal alternations would cost $600+, I begrudgingly made an appointment at one that I felt was far overpriced and was going to take way too long to finish my dress (because I had no other options). At the last minute, after reading her rave reviews, I emailed Diana to see if there was any chance she could squeeze me in and get me my dress back in less than a month. She was able to see me the following week, and got me my dress back in two weeks, and at about a third of the price of all of the other places I spoke to. The dress looks great, and Diana was lovely--she even gave me advice on where to get awesome wedding accessories--places I'd never heard of that were absolutely fabulous. Diana did an amazing job turning my vintage 50s gown into the wedding dress of my dreams, and she did it all for an amazing price! I came in skeptical, not knowing what could be done for the dress. It had a high-neckline with a collar, long sleeves, and was purchased on eBay. Diana listened very carefully and understood my vision. She knew what I wanted before I did. I highly recommend getting your dress tailored by Diana. If I could give her ten stars I would. After consulting with several other tailors in Brooklyn, I only felt more stressed and unsatisfied. I may not be a tailor but I do know a little something about alterations. A few other tailors were telling me I needed xx,xx and xx done when I knew I didn't, nor was it what I wanted. Some quotes were outrageously high, at which I point, I actually started thinking about tailoring my own wedding dress. But then after a few minutes of yelp and google searches, lo and behold Diana Deane, the true gem of all gems.I emailed her on a Sunday and she promptly replied within the hour with a very honest, reasonable quote. She was booking up fast and was able to squeeze an appointment in to see me the following week. When I got to her space, I immediately felt welcomed and calm, reassured that "Diana's got me." She showed me all the various ways that we could tailor my dress to compliment my body. She worked with the natural way the fabric falls and without forcing anything to go a certain way Wedding planning can be stressful so it was such a treat that meeting the tailor to make my dress fit me was a breeze. Her honesty, approach, attention to detail and demeanor made a very special, personable experience. I feel so lucky to have experienced such an intimate bridal fitting, especially in NYC. Diana did all the alterations on my wedding gown as well as my mom's dress for my wedding and did an incredible job!  My dress was a floor model, so it had quite a bit of wear-and-tear - the buttons in the back had to be completely re-done and it had a lot (a LOT! !) of intricate beading with many beads having come undone.  Diana made the dress look completely brand new.Having a very large bust,  I was worried that I would feel uncomfortable in a dress with such a deep V, but Diana altered it in a way that looked very flattering and felt so comfortable.In addition to altering my gown, Diana created a custom-made hairpiece using parts of the hairpiece my mom wore to her wedding.  It came out so unique and gorgeous, and looked better than I could have imagined.Diana really listened to all of my questions/comments/concerns and did not quit until I felt 100% comfortable and confident in my dress.  She has a great eye and her incredible talent is obvious.  She is also very easygoing and makes you feel fully comfortable, which is a huge help when dealing with something as nerve-wrecking as dress fitting.Thank you sooo much!! Felt like it was necessary to update my review. I first used D to alter a bridesmaids dress, and then alter my wedding dress I purchased on Etsy. She did a fabulous job on both pieces, and calm all my nerves about my ill-fitting wedding dress. However, when I got home with my finished fitted wedding dress, I realized the dress wasn't for me. In a panic, I emailed D and sent an idea to her about a custom dress. Long story short, D created the most beautiful wedding dress for me, and an amazing flower girl dress for my daughter.
