Getting my headshots done by Brett was so much fun! It was honestly a very natural conversation, with blinking lights every few seconds. Being photographed is a bit nerve-wracking, and Brett made me feel super comfortable. He makes you feel like you're right at home, having a conversation with a really nice guy. Brett is a consummate pro. I've never been comfortable being photographed, but his good nature immediately set me at ease. The shoot itself was fun! When I received the proofs I was amazed at the all subtle experimentation that had been going on while we were just having a friendly chat. I was truly blown away by the results of his thoroughness, attention to detail, strong aesthetic sense and most importantly, his appreciation for what I was trying to achieve. I recently attended a Zillow.com convention in NY and was offered the opportunity to have a professional photograph taken.   The first thing I thought when Brett posted my headshots, was 'WOW! Is this really me?' He took about 10 shots and they are all great! I couldn't decide which one to select (how many times can you say that)? Brett is a GREAT photographer and the shoot was relaxed, easy and fun, and I was thrilled with the results. Brett is a fantastic photographer!  We found Brett completely by accident- he was working with Columbia Presbyterian as the photographer on the Maternity ward when my wife gave birth. He was very respectful of our space and concerns and did not "sell" us at all- we asked him to come back several times due to various family and timing needs and he did so in the most unobtrusive of ways.When we were finally ready for him, he took incredible pictures of our 4 day old, of the 3 of us, just lovely. 2 of his pictures are still on my fridge and our son is now 15 months old- and they're the only pictures up there.I can't recommend Brett highly enough. Brett is a small buisness's dream photographer. Recently, I needed professional images in a very tight deadline. I contacted Brett, and he said it could be done beautifully, and easily. We met soon after, and he photographed what we needed: my company's audio CD series for a glossy publication. (Even though I went to art school, I learned the hard way -- before turning to Brett for help -- how difficult it is to photograph reflective CDs). Brett has a convenient UWS studio with very serious equipment, and did the job like a true professional should. It was a sheer pleasure to work with him. He' super accommodating and got the images to me quickly, photoshopped to professional perfection. This day in age when there are so many people to choose from (many I'm sure are great) it was SUCH a pleasure to find someone who did the job right without any running around and 'fixing' it up. We were pleased from the start. While I was at his studio, I checked out the rest of Brett's beautiful portfolio (some of which can be seen at deutschphoto.com). In addition to commercial photography, he does amazing wedding, bar/bat mitzvah & event photography, as well as headshots for actors, performers and executives.
