Barbee helped me pull off a surprise remodeling project for my wife while she was out of town on a 3-day business trip. Â She not only dramatically improved the look of our home with her expert design choices, but she coordinated and managed ALL of the contractors and had them start and complete their work on time and within budget. Â Barbee's contractors were all absolutely fantastic and there were no surprises. Â Barbee went above and beyond on the final day of the project as I was scrambling to complete a few last minute cleaning and staging tasks when she showed up at my house out of the blue and assisted me in getting the house totally ready for my wife's return. Instead of being uncertain and stressed out about bringing this house back after years as a rental property, one consulting appointment with Barbee James and I am calm and moving forward with purpose. I find it fascinating that she not only sees the big picture so readily but also sees the canvas in inches, solving problems I've pondered for months! Even though I'm working with a small budget, the inexpensive initial recommendations have ensured my comfort in this home while I prepare to take on the bigger projects. Details performed beyond my expectations! In our remodel Ms. James considered our family life style to the fine points of 'am I right or left handed?
' so that we can make sure the electrical outlet for your toothbrush is on the proper side of the sink.
The re purposing of furniture was used widely rather than buying all new things. The new things that we did purchase were high quality to last the long run and at great prices!

Barbee James of Details Design Studio is a top notch designer and space planner. Our project consisted of a home renovation in Boulder foothills which took place while we were still living In another state. Barbee oversaw the renovation work, redesigned our kitchen,master bath, guest bath and powder room. She developed furniture placement, lighting, window coverings and paint. The project included a custom leather and wood headboard, new wall and ceiling paint, popcorn ceiling removal, custom roman shades, custom bedding accessories (bed skirt, duvet cover, shams and boudoir pillow).
