I have never had a massage by Maite, so I will give her 5 stars in all fairness. But I will share my experience from last night. I believe to be successful in the field of healing of any kind, compassion must be a big part of your DNA. I called to discuss a Neck Recovery Massage and my recent pain possibly related to a previous broken neck. I was told there were multiple openings to choose from, so I inquired about a 30 min session. In lieu of multiple sessions being available, she was unable to accommodate anything other than a 60 minute massage even after mentioned I couldn't afford 60 minutes. Compassion aside, from a business standpoint this doesn't seem to make sense to me.Your Pledge on your website reads "We put your needs first so you feel better as soon as possible."I didn't feel that way when I hung up. I’ve been going to Maite at Deep Tissue and Zen Miami for several weeks now for deep tissue massages and I wanted to leave a review because I think the massages have been amazing. My review below is limited to the deep tissue/sport massage, as that is all I have had.I get the 90 minute deep tissue massage. Although she is on the petite side, she is very strong (she will greet you with a firm handshake, so you know her hands are strong) and gives you her 100% effort each time, every minute. I get a very firm (read: teeth clenched at times) massage in order to loosen up tight muscles. There is no “down-time” or “wasted” time during the massage, which I have had with other masseuses because they have tired out. Every minute she is working hard to heal your body. You can tell she actually cares about whether she is making a difference. And, she is also very responsive to changing the amount of pressure if it is too much or too little, so you are always comfortable and feel like you can trust her. Maite has very good technique and has a deeper understanding/interest in the body due to her being a nurse beforehand. I have multiple soft tissue injuries that she is helping me work through. She knows how much pressure to apply in order to break up knots without injuring the tissue or leaving me overly sore. I do feel like I am making progress with my injuries after going to see her for several weeks. She is also a very positive/friendly person as she is now in the process of becoming a life coach, so conversation is pleasant/upbeat. Her business is located inside a clean, pretty office building on Brickell Key and is very neat/clean. She is thoughtful with music and lighting adjustments.Overall, I would definitely recommend her to anybody seeking a deep tissue/sport massage. More...
