Horrible at communication and does not fulfill contracts. She has ghosted us since the wedding she did for us cause she knows she didn't do what she promised and owes us money. She also kept our property after telling us she would return it. This woman is very untrustworthy and will make alot of promises that she has no intention of carrying out or cannot carry out. Before you consider hiring this woman, look her up on BBB and read the complaints. Unfortunately, they are true and she really is that awful. It's too late for me, but I genuinely hope this review will save another bride from her clutches. First, she was supposed to make a welcome sign out of my late mother's mirror. I dropped the piece and an easel off to her prior to the wedding so she could prepare it. On my wedding day, I finally realized that night that I hadn't seen the mirror yet. When she was asked about it, she claimed it broke when she was trying to set it up, and that she took it to Hobby Lobby to be repaired (she had not offered any of this information and would not have if we hadn't asked). She said she would bring it to my home the next week which I made her put in writing since the mirror was precious to me. When we got it back, it was still the original mirror which tells me it was never broken. I also called Hobby Lobby, and they confirmed that they don't do repairs like that unless it is an item in their store. So she lied to cover up the fact that she just didn't do my welcome display. Secondly, she still has my easel and won't return my calls, texts or emails. I was supposed to have a focal point at my ceremony site that she totally left out. I have asked her to refund my money for the services she did not render, and she has been unresponsive to calls, texts and emails. Thank goodness my other vendors and wedding director were so amazing cause if it weren't for them picking up her slack, she would have ruined the whole thing. My bouquets were nothing like what I requested. When speaking with her before the wedding, she claimed she would handle all decor, setup of items we brought and breakdown. She literally said to me 'all you need to do is get married and I'll handle the rest'. My husband and I spent alot of time and thought on the items we made or brought to make our day special. It was really disappointing to walk into the reception and not see the stuff we spent so much time on. She assured us that she would handle the setup of those items but then acted like she knew nothing about them once they were there. She didn't start making bouquets and all the other arrangements till 3 hours before the wedding which explains why all the other detailed stuff didn't get done. She did a total rush job and depended on wedding day chaos to cover what she didn't do. My director said she was one of the worst vendors she's had to deal with in all the weddings she has done. I see all the positive reviews on her and just can't believe it. Either they are fake, or she was once good at what she did and cared about her company's reputation. I don’t even know where to begin! My fiancé and I bought a restaurant 4 months before our wedding. We absolutely had no time to focus on ANYTHING that had to do with the wedding. That’s where Debbie Bender came to save the day/month/year. She was there for us every step of the way, whether it was helping us pick out desserts, decor, to hand designing our Invitations right in front of us. ( We had totally missed her deadline :) ). If I could give this team more stars, I most certainly would. As a perfectionist, I planned to organize every detail of our wedding on my own. Life, however, didn't have that in the plans. We hired Debbie and her team to assist, and instantly fell in love during our first meeting. She is not only knowledgeable of details you'd never think of, able to keep herself and her clients organized, but she's also one of the most creative event planners I've had the pleasure of working with in town. Terrible customer experience, me and my fiancée thought we hired a professional but we were misled. Mrs Bender chose to initialize cancellation of service as a result of her negligence on more than one occasion to include making a commitment to refund our initial investment, but to our demise she has not honored her commitment to do so. My review: It is rare to witness such a high level of enthusiasm, coupled with expert communication and wrapped neatly with the ability to somehow be everywhere at once!My witnessed example of Debbie's service: In total 45+ people... Bride & Groom, Grandparents, Parents and Extremely Large Bridal Party. Venue staff, Caterer, Officiant, Florist, Cake Maker and DJ... We ALL became a tremendous team because of Debbie! If anyone had a question, she had an instant answer that was always on point delivered professionally. My husband and I meet Debbie Bender during a bridal expo at Studio 215. I was very hesitant about calling and asking for help, but I did. It was the best decision I made. When we first met it was like “love at first sight” ( not like that guys). She listened to me and worked with me. She helped me understand that even with my limited budget I could have an amazing wedding. She made do’s and don’ts simple, she advised on things I needed and didn’t. She more than eased my wedding craziness. When the day came she literally blew what I had imagine out the water. I cried when I walked in, everything was so perfect. If there was anything that went wrong that night I certainly did not hear about it. Her detail, vision, and hard work needs more that 5 measly stars. After every bad thing that happened during my other wedding planning, she made my one day more than memorable. My family and friends can’t stop talking about how amazing the night was. BLUF: Debbie is awesome! I was attempting to plan my wedding on my own and found myself very lost very quickly. I stumbled upon Debbie’s Instagram page after my venue had tagged her in an event photo. I shot Debbie an email, got a prompt response, and very soon after a meeting. I booked her the next day for coordination and decor. Debbie is professional, warm, and extremely knowledgeable. She was always available for my random questions and concerns. I (probably very poorly) described what I envisioned for my wedding day and Debbie made it come true. Come my wedding day I had no worries and was stress free. We are celebrating our first wedding anniversary, and as we remember our special day it’s all happy memories and a day without wedding stress. I can't brag enough about Debbie at The Met. I had SEVERAL hickups during planning and she was there every step of the way with advice and assistance. Due to the storm and 2 ceremony locations falling through at the last minute we needed to use the Met for both ceremony and reception. Debbie went above and beyond to help me not only before but even the day of my ceremony. She proved to be an even bigger resource than I knew she would....even down to running to get food for me and my wedding party once she realized that we hadn't eaten. I wisely chose to hire her to do my decor ( linens and centerpieces), probably my second best decision, 2nd to picking The Met, and she did an awesome job. Our guest went on and on about how beautiful everything was and this was all thanks to Debbie. The only regret I have is not hiring her as my wedding planner. We are forever grateful to Debbie for everything she did to make our day (and planning) move as smoothly as possible.
