To say that Dawson Skow is one of the wisest, kindest, most patient, and encouraging people I have ever known is an understatement. Over the last five years, he has counseled and coached me through some of the most challenging, and rewarding, times of my life. Dawson has a way of seeing potential and strength in people that they don't see in themselves. Moreover, he has a unique ability to help people see in themselves that strength and potential, and challenges them to display those attributes. I was thrilled to learn that Dawson was taking his God-given skills as a coach and counselor to this new level! Â I have known Dawson for more than a decade and benefitted from that relationship both personally and professionally. Â My experiences with him include his leadership and facilitation of a small group bible study for several years, as the leader of a worship band at our church in which I participated for 4-5 years, and as a friend and fellow-traveler through life who has shared both personal insights and some pointed advice (when needed!) Whether you are a Christian or not, if you feel the need for someone to walk with and ENCOURAGE you through life issues small or big, few or many life, I would be hard-pressed to find anyone to recommend more strongly than Dawson. When my husband and I were engagedwe completed pre-marital counseling with Dawson. Right off the bat he made us feel comfortable and safe and we both felt respected and "heard" throughout the journey. He had a great sense of humor but also knew how and when to address the more serious and uncomfortable topics. He walked us through all the common issues married couples face and gave us incredibly valuable tools to help us navigate along the way. He helped us understand each other on a deeper level, gain a new perspective, and appreciate our MANY differences. We learned all the unromantic things as well, like how to go about uniting our lives financially and logistically. We learned how to better handle conflict, how to communicate in a healthier way, how to manage expectations for one another, and above all else and throughout everything, how to love each other better. Those sessions were tough but also surprisingly enjoyable and we grew so much during those weeks, as a couple, yes, but also individually.
