For a 5pm Sunday night in late February this place was jumpin. Local two man band started at 6pm. Our server Jamie was on point. We started with a local brewed IPA, Cosmo and cajun crab balls. The crab balls were just a tad wet in the center. Though the Remoulade sauce was delicious. For entrees we ordered cajun fried softshell crabs with choice of 2 sides. He chose fries and cajun potato salad. I had Shrimp Pontchartrain served over rice. Should have stopped there but ordered the key lime cheesecake. Cheesecake was not tart nor lime flavored. Holy cow ! Literally one of the BEST restaurants on the beach! I have never been disappointed coming here! I love the chicken fried chicken, jalapeños and cream cheese ragoons AMAZING, chargrilled oysters are good, wings are BOMB! Monte Cristo sandwich IMPECCABLE! I mean I could go on and on because I've tried so many things off the menu but those are some of my top favorites! They are always pretty packed but wait times for to go or dine in are pretty reasonable. They are kid friendly and have a bar and lots of TVs for sport lovers! Just had lunch at Dat Cajun Place and it was even better than our first visit. The service and food was excellent. Got this recommended by a bartender we met who was also from Maryland and said we would love their oysters and their low key atmosphere. We had a great lunch- we started with the char grilled oysters which were outstanding. Buttery with a little parmesan. I had the spicy mahi tacos which were perfectly seasoned (I ordered blackened) and that side of slaw? Delicious. Went there for the first time with my friend that is handicap on 2/2/23. Called in our order & picked up to enjoy at home. Their menu on their website was block because it was not safe to use so we used the menu under DatCajunCafe with their menu, address, reviews & phone number. We called in our ordered of 3 appetizers & 1 side. We were charged $47.85! When we got the food home & seen the receipt (it was not itemized) we called to question the over $10 charge for our food. She stated it was a charge for the to go containers. We asked to talk to a manager & she hung up on us. Called again this morning 2/3/23 & the manager stated that the prices on the menu we ordered from had the wrong prices that she can only credit us back for the containers. That we shouldn't have not ordered from that menu. That we got the food we ordered & have to pay their price $47.85 minus $3 for the containers. (no where does it state we would be charged $1 each for to go containers) If we would have known all of this we would have gone else where to order food! Also the food was not that good! We will not return & nor recommend.***Thanks for your prompt response. You are right never trust the search of a restaurant menu online when the internet website menu was down & no where on your call for a to go says you charge for to go containers. We never asked for a full refund just for the price we thought we ordered from your online menu! My advice to future costumers: 1. Get the total before you hang up. 2. Get an itemized receipt. We felt your menu which the internet showed was false. Thanks for letting us point that out to you. Best part of our night? Our server, Rachael! she was super sweet and friendly. Great, fresh Cajun food in Panama City! Everything we've had there is awesome. On Sunday, go for brunch (served until 2:00 PM) for some specials like Chicken and Waffles! My family and I visited Dat Cajun Place in PCB on January 5th for lunch. We are from Las Vegas and were visiting for my son's graduation from the Navy Dive School. There were 6 of us and we sat in Kayla's (I think) section on the patio. From the start, she was AMAZING! Not only does she have a great sense of humor, she played along with our shenanigans like a member of the family. Her and my sister quickly hit it off and became BFFs! In fact, a tattoo was designed to solidify their bond!Of the many many servers in the hospitality industry, Kayla is top notch!
