Love their roast beef, but the tables are never clean. Â We typically end up wiping it down ourselves.

Some recent reviews really slammed this place, so I was very curious to try it. Â It was fine. Â Everything just like it always has been with respect to good, preparation, quality. Â If I had to say something negative, I would say that it lacked the "sparkle" it had before the ownership changed. Â Personnel were a little less enthusiastic and accommodating, place was clean but didn't shine, restroom was ok but could have been better, exterior looks like it's time for pressure washing and painting. Â But, all of that is being extremely critical. Â It's Danver's and all that you knew it to be, sort of.The bill - note it says Danver's. Â Credit card statement says Memphis Catfish, so what? Â More infuriating is that the Memphis Business Journal interrupts reading it on line without signing up. Â Just so long as the amount is correct, I don't care. More...

I have always loved hot ham and cheese sandwiches. But when I order it and even say "American " cheese, they never add it. I always expect to be on there but for the forth time the didn't and I had to go back and get it. Why don't they put the cheese on there when ordered. Next time I'll check when they hand it to me. First, let me let me explain that we have limited mobility so the choices for dinner out are limited to curbside or drive thru windows. Â Because of this, we have located a little know jewel that serves shrimp that is outstanding in size, taste and texture. Â COOKED PERFECTLY. Â Tonight we wanted shrimp for dinner so I called in our order for pickup at the window. (Not necessary to call but I like to give them a heads up of something that may take a few minutes to prepare.) Â I asked Robert to please make sure that the shrimp wasn't fried to hard, old people have teeth issues. Â Absolutely, perfect meal. Â Staff is nice, salad fresh, potatoes delicious and shrimp outstandingly delicious. Â Â Spread the word but don't eat it all leave some for us. More...

Manager Dave opened this Danver's location 7 years ago & continues to be front-&-center during Lunch & Dinner hours. Â If you like friendly personalized service, he wrote the book. Â I like the Soup, Veggies, Salads, Sandwiches, everything. There is a full Condiment Bar on the end of the Salad Bar, so I can dress my Sandwiches leisurely. Â The Condiment Bar also speeds up the wait @ the Register, since I don't have to stand behind Families who, once it's been determined what each member wants, the Cashier has to go around again while they make up their minds about which Condiments they do & do not want on each Sandwich. Â Plus DIY saves on dressing mistakes that raise food cost. Â Everybody's happy. Â Attractive, comfortable Interior, Prime Location, efficient Drive-Thru, & a spacious Parking Lot. More...

Because of my husband's muscular dystrophy, we have to use a portable transport chair/wheelchair when we run errands. It's lightweight and easy to put in the back of the car, but sturdy enough to hold him. Despite the ease of the transport chair, most of the doors into any building are not automatic doors, so entering or exiting anywhere is always a challenge for us. I usually back my husband in while holding the door open with one arm or one leg, and the few times someone has been in front of us, and happens to see us struggling, they usually hold the door open. Today we met some family members for lunch at Danver's at Poplar and Kirby Parkway in Memphis. Before we even made it up the handicap ramp, an employee from Danver's had run out the door and said, "I got this". He not only wheeled my husband up the ramp, but he got him through the door. Needless to say, I told his manager and thanked the young man several times. Thank you to all the angels God puts in our path when things get hopeless and hectic. "I got this". Three of the sweetest words I have heard today. Thank you #Danvers for training your staff to have such superb customer service. More...

We just moved to the neighborhood and Danver's is easy to pickup a quick meal for dinner. Â So far we have just used drive thru so this will not reflect the interior of the store. I have enjoyed both their roast beef sandwiches and their burgers. Â I like the onion straws as a side (they have several sides including veggies) but usually get a baked potato. Â I just tried the clam chowder and found it pretty decent although a little salty. Â The French dip sandwich (currently a special) was very tasty - au jus was some of the best I've had - not too salty. Â My wife got the chicken finger salad last time and really liked it. Â The salad was fresh and included a whole hard boiled egg. Â The chicken fingers came in a separate container and remained crisp, moist and hot through out her meal (she pulled one at a time onto her salad)I do plan to check out their breakfast - my son says it is excellent. Â I will go inside on my next visit and check out the digs - my review could be updated then. More...

I am a fan of Danver's. Â Been going to Danver's for the past 30 years. Â The food is good and this location has a really great salad bar. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. Â My mother is a fan of the oldies that play. Â There are 2 tv for those not fans of the music. Â The prices are good and even better with coupons. The breakfast platter is a good deal and includes: eggs, bacon/sausage/ or ham, potatoes/grits and biscuit or toast. All for less than $6.00. I've eaten at this particular Danver's on two occasions recently and both my experiences were very positive. The restaurant was clean, spacious, and the food was excellent. The first time I had a burger combo and on the second visit I tried a grilled chicken sandwich. Both times I selected baked potatoes. On my second visit, I added the optional side salad. I really enjoy personally dressing the sandwiches and baked potatoes, since I can make them up to my particular taste. There was a good selection of teas which included sweet, unsweetened, peach flavored, and I believe raspberry flavor as well. A nice touch. The salad bar area was kept neat and well organized. The music was at the right volume level, the appropriate music, and the sound evenly distributed. I'm an audiophile and know when I hear a quality sound system. The restaurant had a large number of big windows, which made the rolling fields of grass in the rear of the restaurant very nice for viewing. I found the employees to be friendly and helpful. All things considered, I concluded Danver's was a great place to visit and at a great price. Do yourself a favor, and the next time your in the mood for a burger, give Danver's a visit./////July 7th, 2014: On my last visit, the burger wasn't freshly cooked. I could tell the burger had been cooked some time ago as it was already stiff. The cheese didn't melt on the baked potato neither. The manager needs to ensure all food is freshly cooked. The restaurant is probably attempting to save money at the expense of customers.I gotta remove 1 star. More...
