I used to enjoy much of this salon but they are incredibly unethical. They show one price online, and tell clients a different price at check out.
I used to put up with this because it used to be within a $20 difference between the listed price and what was actually charged. But now, they have begun demanding by phone substantially more money hours after clients leave after paying what was agreed upon. It also does not matter what is listed, what has been standard at this salon repeatedly, or what is standard pricing and practice at all other other salons I have been to, as someone who travels and gets a flat iron service often. They practice very differently here, without scruples.
I regret submitting to this unethical demand for $80 for a simple flat iron without even a shampoo after arriving with partially dry hair, having washed my own hair. They told me a price that was cloae to what is listed and I paid that price. I tipped well on this price also. Then, I was told that using a hair dryer beyond the flat iron was another $55 ontop of what I was charged-- by someone who charged much less than this for washing my hair in addition to the hair dryer and flat iron plenty of times in the past. Romy charges $60-- including a shampoo, hair dry and flat iron. This is on the high end of standard, but she tells people ahead of time, so it is agreed upon. And Zehra has always charged less than this but now demands $80 for no shampoo-- literally for just a hot tool, without so much as a conversation about why it is suddenly $45 above the listed price or the price she charges any other time. Nowhere-- not in Mosaic, DC or Europe have I paid or even heard of anyone paying anything close to that for the (very basic) service rendered. At least Romy tells people ahead of time when she charges higher than average prices. That is just decent.
I never would have agreed to this substantially higher price and feel robbed, especially after tipping well, not knowing how much more she would have someone unethically demand. I told her what I did for a living that day and poof-- she added substantially more to the price and did not ask for that absurd price in the salon but had the front desk person demand it over the phone hours after I left. I should not have paid it. This was incredibly unprofessional. The girl said "Zehra said that is what *you* normally pay." It is not. She did not contact me and neither has the manager. With tip, this had been almost $100 for a flat iron. Never again. That is such unprofessional behavior.
I have never heard of or encountered such unethical behavior before. Stay away from this place. Also keep in mind that the positive reviews are almost certainly rewarded with money, Services or are flat out fake. I was in the salon the day they made everyone in the waiting room nominate them for best salon, which was uncomfortable. Unfortunately, it means nothing when the salon is not ethical.

I went to Dante hoping to update my grown out ombre and was lucky enough to get an appointment with Romy. She ended up working an absolute miracle and doing a beautiful platinum balayage. Not only is she amazing at what she does, but she was incredibly nice and really listened to what I wanted. She looked through pictures on Pinterest with me and talked me through what my options were. Romy is a kind and warm person and it was clear from the start that she truly cares about her clients. Yesterday was a wonderful day for me because I was fortunate enough to meet two excellent professionals. ROMY and JIMMY who work at Dante Salon and Wellness Spa! !! I arrived at noon and I was very sad because my hair was a mess, I had a bad experience with another salon and they totally ruined my hair. From the moment I arrived the attention was wonderful!!! First time guest and I usually do not just trust anyone with my hair but I did based on reviews this time. Romy is a well experienced stylist who took the time to explain what she recommended and the steps she had to do. I left the salon feeling beautiful and confident thanks to Romy. She not only gave me good hair advice but also good health advice. I had a Groupon coupon for this place and it was lovely! I had the deluxe mani and deluxe pedi which was amazing. Such good quality and start treatment! I loved how soothing the leg and hand massages were by far the best I've ever had. They don't usually do walk-ins it's best to call ahead and make an appointment. They sometimes are able to do same day appointments too. You can find them on Groupon like I did but even if you can't find them on Groupon give them a try! More...

I saw Diane today for a highlight and cut. This was my first visit with Diane through a recommendation. I was really impressed. I walked in 10 minutes early and Diane was waiting for me. I’ve gone years and years trying to find a hair stylist that can give me my dream hair color. I always walked out of the salon with a brassy red color. .. it was horrible! I ended up giving up till my best friend recommended Romy to do my hair... Let me tell you, it was worth every penny. She was absolutely wonderful! I showed her a picture when I first got to the salon and confidently she told me she will take care of me and she definitely did. I have been going to my previous nail salon for 8 years, so finding a new place with a technician I felt just as comfortable with as the one before was difficult. However, I came to the point where finding a local nail salon was a necessity. I came across Dante Salon through google, and found they were not only close, but had great reviews. I have always been wary of reviews on google, since they can often be misleading, but I gave them a chance. I gave them a call one afternoon around 3PM, and requested a time that same day. They were not only accommodating, but Tiffany, who was my nail technician was very friendly and took great care of my nails. I loved the attention to detail she gave and her recommendations were very helpful. Initially I was worried that the SNS would be bulky, but was genuinely surprised of the lengths she goes to make sure the shape of the nail looks as natural and appealing as possible. I have scheduled my third visit for April and feel confident in having her do some cherry blossom designs. I will post pictures at that time, but meanwhile highly recommend you give them a try. $50 for SNS may be expensive for some, but even if it is to treat yourself it is worth every penny! Thank you ROMY! You were the sweetest and did such a great job. You told me "my hair would look better than the picture" I showed her, and she was right! Dante's Salon has advanced machines that take a shorter amount of time for coloring than other salons. I was pleased to be in and out with a beautiful reddish gold balayage. I’ve been coming to Dante’s for several years (on and off) and I have never been disappointed. I’m always greeted with a warm and sincere hello! A couple months back, my face was literally a blanket of acne and black scars. I had never felt so unattractive and self-consciousness in my life. I knew that a visit to the dermatologist would result in costly prescriptions that offered no guarantee for acne/scar-free skin. I opted for facial services (micro derm., facial and chemical peel) and decided I would resort to medication as a last resort. I am overwhelmed with happiness because of my decision and I owe much of that to Sahel! She is not only one of the most kindred people I’ve ever met, she is truly a master esthetician. My face today is a testimant to her abilities. In only three months she has literally transformed my skin! I cannot say enough good things about my experience with David during my massage today. He really dialed in on what I wanted out of the massage and kept checking in to make sure we were on the same page. I had some pretty bad shoulder tension he focused on. He even showed me how my left side was worse than the right and helped me identify the causes. Rather, he guessed just by feeling the muscle and me not saying anything!
