Dan is unusually gifted in many ways, especially in his ability to hold unconditionally loving and patient space as I moved through challenging emotions, narratives, and stuck places. He offers wisdom, wit, insight, incredible compassion, and sharpness exactly when I needed it. He doesn't try to fix or change me, but rather creates the space in which I can accept myself and let go of harmful patterns from there. Anyone would be very lucky to work with him! I couldn't recommend him more. More...

I am acknowledging that I was wrong about Dan Michels. He is not a sexual predator, and that is NOT the point I was trying to make when opening a complaint. I did not do a good job in communicating, or writing my words thoughtfully. I feel terrible for how they’ve been interpreted, as well.

I did not have accurate information. My psyche filled in blanks to the story, and distorted it while I was in a trauma response.

I now know the relationship happened over a year later, and was consensual. I now know she made her own decision. I now know he did not act out of integrity.

I was confused when I submitted the review, and it was based on my own spinning out and filling in false information. I lashed out without knowing the exact facts or timeline.

I was in pain and I regret my actions. I am seeking support and help elsewhere.

I am sorry I spoke for her, and for the pain and stress this has caused for anyone involved.

I regret my actions, and I am willing to help make things right, and help of my own will and sovereignty.

I am taking responsibility and action to help rectify this situation. I am willing to do what is necessary.

Dan is a good man. And I don’t want to hurt him, her, or their budding relationship.

I am regretful of my actions, and the haste with which I acted.

I’m sorry.

Dan is an incredible human with deeply forged character, and is specifically committed to right use of power and integrity in client (and all) relationships. As someone who knows the parties involved in the below accusations, and who watched what happened from the inside, I can attest that Dan has never been a therapist of or in a professional / power position with the woman mentioned, at any time, nor were they ever together while the OP was dating her. Dan has absolutely excellent professional integrity, boundaries, and communication. The OP below (same person, 3 different accounts) is struggling that his ex has moved on, and he is making false claims about Dan out of hurt and possibly a manic episode (I can't diagnose that, only noticing that his behavior is erratic and intense right now, after just finding out that his ex has moved on.) To be fair, the woman mentioned in no way supports OP's claims, and is also working to get OP mental help. I can only imagine being someone considering working with Dan and having second thoughts based on seeing these posts, but I'd like to assure you that he's one of the kindest, well-trained, self-aware and supportive professionals you'll ever meet. I highly recommend him, and I'm simply disappointed to watch his name get dragged through the mud because of one person's struggle. OP, we want you to get the help you need. More...

I am quite close to this situation and the below 1 star reviews and they are just simply not true. These comments are coming from a place of heartbreak and pain of a former partner and are completely baseless.
This pain is very relatable, but it is inappropriate to act upon it in this destructive way. Slandering someone with lies is not the way to heal or get what you want.
I am an ally and advocate for womxn, victims, empaths everywhere and I take this kind of reporting very seriously, but knowing the inside of this conflict I want to share that none of the above is true.
Michael, I hope you get the help and support you need to heal. I know you are hurting but there are better ways to handle this.
I cannot give a high enough review of Dan Michels and his personhood. His training, his integrity, his intention, his care. He is a safe human that would never do what Michael is claiming.

I initially came to see Dan mostly because of issues I was having at work. He has worked very hard with me to make sense of the way I was feeling and now I realize that the issues I was having at work transcend into almost every other aspect of my life and personality. Now we work on my relationship and my sex life. He has helped me uncover some early childhood trauma that I never knew was there! Dan is an amazing listener and provides extremely realistic ways to move forward in being a happier and more content person. I always look forward to seeing him every week. If you are struggling in any way, large or small, he can help! More...

I went to Dan to help me deal with sexual issues that were ruining my marriage. After working with him, I gained a clearer understanding of myself, which in turn led to a greater understanding of the relationship I have with my wife. The negativity I harbored a year ago has given way to a new, optimistic chapter in our marriage. Furthermore, my increased self-confidence and self-awareness has provided opportunity in other aspects of my life, including my career. My sessions with Dan have been such a valuable asset to my life. More...

As a clinician, Dan brings a high level of knowledge and skill to the therapeutic arena. He is warm, genuine, intuitive, and spacious for whatever needs to arise. Beyond knowledge, and even skill, however, is the intention and earnest care he holds for his clients. Any therapist can learn technique, but to find a therapist who truly cares more about their clients' truth and unique experience is rarer to find. Dan navigates the complex world of the subjective with grace, humor, and a massive heart. I highly recommend working with him! More...
