There are hairstylist... and there's Richie Miao - A true master at his craft. Richie has been cutting, coloring, and taming this hair of mine for nearly 20 years. I've been to many well known salons in between and I've NEVER had a stylist better than Richie. There's very little to say once u sit in Richie's chair, he knows exactly what to do & you wont be wondering if he knows what you want or what you meant when you explained what you magically want done to your hair. I have battled thick, curly, unruly hair for my entire life & I was miserable until I gave Richie control of my curly,  thick hair. Richie is AMAZING with thick hair, I cant even explain how he magically slices through those thick heavy strands of hair leaving you with a stylish, manageable mane that you never knew could exist! Richie is also the "bang whisperer", we all know how fast bangs can go easily wrong especially she u have hair such as mines. This was a fantastic experience.  I started by searching through many different salon reviews.  Went for a cut and explained what I wanted.  Kayty did a patch test before determining what to do.  First appointment was cut and then I came back for the color session.  Because of the patch test we were able to avoid any problems and the color came out better than either one of us could have dreamed.  I can not wait to come back and don't plan on letting anyone else touch my hair.  The slain was easy to find and I was able to park at the Walmart for easy access. PARKING: They only valet parking but they have street parking or park at walmart for free.SERVICE: First time ever coloring my hair & I had CHARMAINE do my hair. I was very picking on trusting anyone to do my hair & thats why Ive always had black hair for over 10+ years till now. I knew that my hair wouldnt have gotten super blonde with my first session but i still loved the color. My 2nd session came extremely perfect, just wanted I wanted for the summer. I also went shorter with hair because I have super thick long hair & the summer heat was getting to me. I might go shorter in the future too. I loved that since this was my first time with colored hair she explained mostly everything on how to take care & what products are good & bad.She is super caring with me asking if i wanted water, tea & coffee. She always kept asking if i had to go to the restroom. The salon is spot on clean & bright. Each station Chairs & the wash chairs are uber comfortable. I wasn't sure what I was looking for in my cut when I came in, all I knew was that my hair was too thick and hot. Kayla managed to keep my style but gave me a cut that felt more comfortable and light, and the enviornment is just really cool and welcoming. I came here after one of my girlfriend's suggested to check out Vee at Dada Salon. I was looking for a new girl to go to for coloring my hair and I decided to check her out. I texted Vee to make an appointment and she replied back fairly quickly and we were able to set up an appointment. When I walked into Dada I was surprised at how inviting and kind everyone was, especially the staff at the front desk! The girl offered me something to drink while I waited, which I thought was super sweet of them to do. I had previously had a blonde balayage and wanted to go back to dark hair. Vee explained the entire process to me and me already having pretty damaged hair from all the previous coloring she made sure that she did it in a way to still protect my hair. She also did a treatment on my dry hair, damaged hair which made my hair feel and smell so good! I also loved how you were able to lay down when getting your hair washed! At the end she gave me a few samples to take home and try as well. If you're debating going to Dada Salon I recommended booking with Vee. She's talented, knowledgeable and super sweet! Absolutely in LOVE with my hair cut by Kysa today. I haven't had a trim in over a year, and I told Kysa I wanted to keep my length and to redo my layers. Previous to the appointment, I asked Kysa if she could recommend whether I needed a deep condition/ keratin treatment and once I got to the appointment she said I didn't really need it! Love that she didn't try to "push" extra services :) Very efficient appointment, I was out in a little over an hour but I didn't feel rushed at all!I definitely recommend Kysa!! Let me just start off by saying go and see KYSA, if you want to make your money worth it!! She's very knowledgeable and sweet. I came here thinking that I can't get my goal to go light due to my perm. She told me that she'll try her best to lighten my hair but in the healthiest way possible, so I agreed! I wasn't expecting much, just as long as my hair looked like something was done to it. She ended up exceeding my expectations! Communication was a breeze. Since I had a busy schedule, it was hard to keep the time of my appointment but she went out of her way to try and accommodate me which I appreciated a lot! Inside the salon was nice, it looked very modern. They offer water, coffee and tea while you wait as well. They're located in the same building as KTV karaoke. This is my hair spot! Misa is my stylist. She's been doing my hair for about four years.Here's why Misa is amazing: She does exactly what my Pinterest pictures tell her to do. She gives me a little massage every time. She talks to me a little bit, but mostly lets me just sit quietly and enjoy the process. Dada Salon has these really cool lie-down sinks where the stylists wash your hair. They put a bolster under your knees. It feels luxurious and I love it. It's not the cheapest haircut, but Misa doesn't take it personally that I am frugal and color my own hair and only come to see her about twice a year. The cut is done so well that it grows out nicely and I don't need to go back as often. I don't think she's hurting for business at all, but I love her and Dada Salon so I thought I'd give it a shout-out. More...

I see Jamie Keiko. She's the best. Before I met Jamie, I had always left hair salons feeling like I hadn't gotten exactly what I asked for. Never with Jamie. I'm also understanding that not everything happens in one session, but she always gets me to where I want to be. She's sweet and her assistants are always great and helpful. Her salon area is nice as well. When you're spending a couple of hours getting your hair done, you want it to be comfortable and relaxing and most importantly, smell good! Kysa is amazing!!! She's knowledgeable, talented, and dedicated to her work. I don't think I've ever left a salon more in love with my hair than I did when I left Dada. This is definitely now my salon of choice for any hair needs. The salon itself is really cute and trendy. They give you a robe to change into, offer drinks, and take nice before and after pictures. Parking is valet in the 808 building and Dada covers most of the cost. I was there from 3-8pm and paid $2. It's valet so you have to factor in the tipping too. More...

This review is for my ever-fabulous hairstylist and color expert, JAMIE KEIKO SERIKAKU!!I would give her 10 stars if Yelp allowed it because she is a rockstar when it comes to coloring! I've been with a dear friend/hairstylist for decades but recently started seeing Jamie because it was just time for a change.My hair-obssesed friends and I have been following her on Instagram (@Jamiekeikohair) for a while and loved her color-melting styles when it comes to balayage & ombre hair. I've been wanting ashy silver streaks in my dark hair for a long time but wasn't able to achieve it with my friend, and that was after a total of 6 sessions that ran on average 7-8 hrs of ass-numbing chair time every appointment.During my FREE consultation-only appt, Jamie was realistic and honest. She explained that because my hair was seriously damaged after all that processing, she couldn't promise it'll come out exactly the way I wanted,  but said she'd do her best in getting me closer to my dream hair with each session. We set a date and planned for 6 hours and to my delight, we were able to achieve gorgeous results in just 2.5 hours (this included more lifting/bleaching, color processing, cut/layering and blowout. Wtf right?! This girl is just amazing and I've never been happier!I wanted to maintain my deep eggplant-colored base (hair looks black indoors but in the sun, the vibrant deep purple tint pops!) while giving it more contrast and dimensions with silver chunks. Jamie delivered and then some.As the semi-permanent violet color naturally faded with each wash, my desired ashy silver stood out even more, which was exactly what I wanted. All pics were taken from Jamie, unfiltered & unedited. There was no fancy ring lighting used to hype up my hair, nor was there any professional white canvas for me to stand in front up. Just me standing outside in natural sunlight, against a white paint-chipped wall, lol. Just beautiful results and I couldn't be any happier. Can't wait to see how things will progress with each future appointments. Trying to find an affordable, reliable, and trusting hairstylist is hard to find. I looked at the reviews on Dada and asked Tracy K. about her thoughts about the facility and Trisha. I thought I'd try it out! I'm always willing to try something new especially when it comes from a reliable source :) Thanks, Tracy K.!IMO - The salon is placed in the perfect place, especially with the upcoming high rises and new businesses. Dada Salon is located in the 808 Center behind Walmart and near HMSA. Valet is the only parking available at 808 Center. Otherwise, you can find street parking. The clerk told me that I can park at Walmart, but that can be iffy especially if the security comes around. Like Tracy K.'s post, the car elevator is one of a kind. It's very cool to watch your car enter and exit. I was watching the valet (who was very helpful and patient with me) and each car got a ticket code. Just a few digits and poof! your car is inside safe and sound. Dada stylist covers the parking fee but, with an valet service, tipping is up to you.Dada is located on the third floor - on the left side from the elevator and stairs. Restrooms are located near the elevators and Dada supplies the fob keys. The salon has a variety of products and during the holiday season, they had sales and clearances on a few items. I purchased the Shu Uemura set - wonder worker and texture wave. I'm very happy with the products and highly recommend it!!Lots of staff and stations. A nice shampoo area - can fit more than 5 clients comfortably. The seats one of a kind as well - very comfortable. DADA Salon is AWESOME! I took my VERY nappy headed daughter here and V and Jefalyn both did a beautiful job with a blow dry flat iron. DADA uses excellent products, has excellent stylists, and the salon is super cute, clean and comfortable. She has seen other stylists there, and they were equally outstanding, and everyone is super friendly. Also has validated valet parking- location is central to everything in town. SO I figured I would try, they had a stylist available on short notice during this holiday weekend. Unfortunately, she  had a car accident that morning, and tried to get to the appointment but was tied up with a tow truck- awful. I was there anyway and went in on the off chance someone was available (again- Saturday right before Xmas, unlikely) and the salon was VERY busy. Mariah said she would check around and found someone to fit me in! I am so sorry I forgot the stylist's name, but she did a beautiful job (I too, have super- nap hair) and completely de-stressed me- I left there feeling and looking amazing. So the review is partially about the salon but it's mostly about my hairdresser that works out of that salon, Kevin! He is just fantastic. The salon itself is easy to find. It's right behind the Walmart in town. They have a parking attendant who takes your car and your hairdresser should validate your ticket for you.The center has restaurants and bakeries.Dada is on the third floor, always bustling with people!One of the best at Dada, KEVIN!! Can we talk about how chic this salon is? Love the hair washing stations. Especially the chairs! So comfy.  I seen Mersadeez for a haircut. Richie's the bomb! It's obvious I come here for the hair cuts, but I also come here because of the energy & the vibe this place shares. Sitting down with Richie is not just about outward appearance maintenance. For me, it's really kicking back & being rejuvenated by life philosophies Richie lives by. I got my haircut from Mersadeez and she is amazing!  She's super sweet and very knowledgeable, especially when it comes to modern haircuts. She will even explain and teach you how to style your hair!  I normally don't curl my hair but while she was doing it makes my hair looks sooo good!!  I can't wait to get my next haircut from her and maybe some color too!
