First time customer.....I'll definitely be back. I ordered the lunch special shrimp platter and was quite pleased. The shrimp was lightly breaded with great flavor which was a great start. I wanted a little bit more flavor from the collard greens but none the less it was still good. The shrimp was my favorite but that sweet potato mash was pretty on point as well. I'm used to mine being a little thicker but this version works as well. Once I was done eating, I realized I probably should've gotten the regular platter instead of the lunch platter because I'm a greedy person when it comes to food and the shrimp and mashed potato were worth getting more of. Yes Indeed! The fried fish was delicious. Fresh, lightly seasoned, perfectly fried and little to no bones. My other said the rib tips were solid too! They give you a choice between sweet, spicy, or tangy sauce. He chose the sweet and I didn't hear a word out of him until it was done. The curry cabbage is EVERYTHING a veggie could ever hope to be. Sweet taters were lovely and the right amount of sweet.  Mac-n-cheese was a bit dry and eggy for my liking so I'll pass on that next time but with that being the only "miss" and everything else, including the customer service, being exactly right if not a touch above...i'll return! This is a community owned business across from the courthouse. It used to be a thai restaurant (that I wasn't a fan of) and I'm so glad this is what replaced it. No seating though! Went in after looking at reviews. Was between this or chinese. Well my palate was very happy we went with the bar b que. It was excellent and the whipped sweet potatoes were overwhelming with great taste. I used the bread to lap up the last bits. I even called the restaurant to express my satisfaction with the meal. I've been waiting to try this place for quite some time.  I checked  reviews, and it helped a lot with choosing what to try first from this place.  I got the fried wingettes with mac and cheese, and it was great, I love the chicken it had a great crisp and is was well seasoned.  My friend got the pulled turkey, with multiple sauces, I would recommend getting the pulled pork in the container and bread on side, so you wont have soggy bread from the sauce. Another little gem shack of BBQ delights. Tucked away in Old Towne Upper Marlboro, CZigs is a Mom & Pop run business that reflects a time honored tradition on how to prepare BBQ. The place isn't fancy nor large. They put everything into the flavor of the foods. You go in and it really resembles a small kitchen with all the appointments, a tv and some tunes on the radio playing. I had a Rib sandwich and the mac-n-cheese. The Sandwich was huge and the ribs (3 to make up the sandwich) were juicy, meat fell off the bone. The sauce was great too, I like a good blend of sweet to spicy. This place is officially my go to BBQ spot. The food is absolutely delicious. The sides- even the green beans- are well seasoned! This is the only place that actually makes potato salad like my Mom. I ordered through CZig's to have them cater an event I was hosting at a sorority sister's home in Upper Marlboro. Erica was mypoint of contact and she was on point. Timely responses and follow-up even though the #s for my head count went down by about half. They delivered food which was able to feed 20-25 people w/ chafing dishes and sternos included. Food: We ordered jerk chicken, ribs, and brisket for our meats. The brisket literally melted in my mouth. It was the best I've ever had. The jerk chicken had just the right amount of heat, but let me warn you- the wingettes are small. Sides: jambalaya rice and string beans, both were good. We also had bread but we barely touched that and I didn't eat any, so I can't comment on it. I should've ordered the corn muffins instead. I wish I lived closer, so I can visit more often. The food came w/ a bunch of diff sauces that were really tasty, but I'm a sucker for a good sauce.Absolutely everyone @ the event loved the food and kept asking me where it was ordered from. I was going to say $60 seems steep for delivery & set-up in the same city but when loading up the food, gas, bringing food in, and usage of sternos, it's probably not. Oh yes, honey! They can cook in here! Ribs on point, even without the sauce. (If the rib ain't good dry, I don't want it!) Their dry rub is popping ! Sweet potatoes light, fluffy and perfect (not cloyingly sweet and I think I taste cloves?). Curried cabbage amazing. Spicy sauce on side: yes. AND IT’S RIGHT ON MAIN STREET IN UPPER MARLBORO!!!The resturant is relatively new... and the building is tiny an unassuming. Matter of fact, if you blink, you’ll miss it!It’s called CZigs BBQ. The first time I went in I got a slab of ribs for my husband, some pulled turkey, veggie sides, and apple cobbler.The food was SO good I thought it had to be a fluke... I MEAN IT WAS DOWNRIGHT DELICIOUS. I don’t eat meat, haven’t in over 20 years... but I tasted that rib and it was so delicious that I had three bones!!! So, I went back today to test my theory that the food being so good was a fluke, and I’ll be dogon if the food today wasn’t BETTER than the last time I went!!! IMPOSSIBLE BUT TRUE!Today, in addition to their melt in yo mouth ribs, I got their Mile High Fish Sandwich. I’m ashamed to say, but I didn’t make it out of the resturant with that sandwich. It smelled so delectable that I sat down right there and ate it all up! OMGAWD IT WAS GOOD!!!The other things of note are that the food is economically priced, hot, prepared fresh, and I didn’t have to wait long to get my order either time. My first visit and I must say I wasn't disappointed I had the fries with pulled turkey, the portion was huge and the Uncle Charlies sauce was great i would give it a 3 out of 5 because the fries weren't as crispy as I like and they could've used a little salt. I also ordered the ribs they weren't your typical ribs but they were delicious and fall off the bone, ribs 4 out of 5. Next visit I'll try the fish and their sides. I've been waiting for this place to open! I walked into the establishment and my ears were hit with some classic "oldies but goodies" and then greeted warmly by the staff. Not many tables and chairs..more of a "in and out" set-up.I was determined to try the kale salad but they didn't have any . I'll say it was due to the high volume of people during lunch time (update: not much of lunch special as I previously expressed) and I just missed out. Hopefully I won't "miss out" next time. The shrimp was lightly breaded with great flavor (request a mixture of all the sauces ). I consider myself a mac&cheese connoisseur (I've traveled many aunties and grandmas houses to gain this type of expertise) and the mac&cheese was respectable. I've since returned and it seems like they have all the kinks worked out. Looks like they shortened the menu. Good thing, because they kept running out of food. Now they can focus on what they do best, BBQ. I must admit the brisket was awesome and the ribs are the second best that I ever had, next to mine. Sorry but nobody makes ribs like me.
