I was there this past November, and absolutely loved the experience. They give amazing context and historic background, the people at the museum are so nice and available to answer any questions, and the museum itself is so beautiful. I loved how many authentic pieces were available to touch, which is rare in most museums!! Would highly recommend if you are in the area!! More...

The Czech Center Museum Houston is the ultimate stopover in Houston Texas if you are of Czech heritage or not. Before you go please make sure you plan ahead and make an appointment. Whether it's just yourself are you and your significant other or a group of any size they request that you call ahead or make an appointment on-line so they can provide you with a proper tour of their remarkable and memorable Czech heritage museum. If you happen to be driving there be sure to park in the back in front of a beautiful wall mural. Once invited inside the museum you will be asked to sign the guest log book and if you have time you will see people came from all of the United States of America and many different Countries just to visit Czech heritage in Houston Texas. One of the first things you will notice once inside this beautiful Czech heritage museum is the massive crystal chandelier and piano. When planning your trip for the museum please allow a minimum of Two to Three hours to fully absorb everything. Once the guided tour is over they will allow you to go back through any areas and take a closer look at something you may have missed, and you will miss something believe me. Make sure to bring your cameras and take lots of pictures for family and friends back home who will be so happy to see all of your pictures at the Czech heritage museum and learn more about who and where they are from. After the guided tour is over and you have gone through the entire museum again by yourself and the people whom you came with you have one more place to go. The very last place to go in the Czech heritage museum is the gift shop. There in the tiny back room gift shop you will find shelves and displays full of everything Czech including picture books, Czech language to English books, knick knacks, art works, corn husk dolls, and much much more. Don't worry about trying to get it back home with you on the plane or bus. They are more than happy to package it up for you and ship it to any address you should desire. So if you find something special for some family member across the Country, you can have the museum personnel ship your item(s) for you to your someone special. One final thing. Please be courteous and make a donation to the museum in an amount that is comfortable with your pocketbook. The museum operates off of donations and gifts and is self sufficient. They don't receive public or governmental grants to operate there budget on so once again---- Please donate what your budget will allow, nothing more. Michael Pekarek, a full blooded Czechoslovakian! The space was absolutely beautiful and acoustically awesome--perfect for an intimate concert evening or event. It was a pleasure to sing there and also an absolute pleasure to meet the staff, who were so generous with their sausages and beer (which were excellent!). They made us feel so comfortable and welcome, and I could tell the audience had a great experience due to their hospitality as well. Highly recommend! More...

The Czech Center Museum Houston is truly a treasure in Houston's Museum District. The four story facility has the first and second floors available to host a wedding, professional meeting or dinner gala. I considered the Czech Center for my American Institute of Chemical Engineers Chapter 75th Anniversary Gala. The costs for dinner and dancing with valet parking were in line with the Racket Club and Rayburn Country Club. The third floor has a resident Czech Exhibit and Library. Additional traveling exhibits are always on display for you to tour. The staff and volunteers are enthusiastic, friendly, and most informative about Texas Czech and Czech history and culture. The museum hosts many events open to the public at no or nominal charge. And the gift shop has a wide variety of Czech keepsakes available for purchase. A tour with docent is only $5/person. I highly recommend a visit!Charles Waligura More...
