My initial reasoning for contacting Jim was to get some basic knowledge on strength training. I had spent years in and out of gyms with my main focus being on cardio, but I never really saw substantial results. I have been working with Jim just shy of two months and my body has changed so much in this time period. It is to the point that I need to buy all new leggings/jeans but I don’t want to just yet because I know I’m not at my final transformation. What I like most about working with Jim is that his focus is on teaching me, not just telling me what to do. I’ve heard Jim say numerous times that I am not always going to have him around and I think that says so much about him as a person. His goal is not to keep me dependent on him so that I continue to pay for sessions. He genuinely wants me to succeed at this on my own. Aside from being an exceptional trainer, his personality deserves five stars too. I can not recommend him enough! More...

I've been working with Jim for about 7 months. As a 60 year old who spent way too many hours on planes, Jim has helped me begin to get back in shape. When I began my journey to a healthier lifestyle a couple of months ago, part of my mission was to find a trainer/coach that could support me with accountability and motivation. Above that, I wanted to learn the ropes and be able to (one day) confidently walk into a gym and know how to effectively reach my physical fitness goals. When I met Jim for the first time, he told me that his approach and coaching style is to “teach to fish”. That was precisely what I needed to hear to get me excited, and validate that this was exactly where I needed to be. My experience working with Jim has been nothing short of exceptional. The workouts are catered to my individual needs and goals in accompaniment with a healthy diet and on-my-own exercises. I leave my workouts tired, but I undoubtedly feel stronger and more confident than the day before. Making the first step to a healthier lifestyle and finding a trainer that is a “good fit” can feel intimidating. I feel incredibly grateful to have found Jim. Jim is awesome. His ability to ,over time, tailor work outs that really fit my goals and any physical weaknesses that I was dealing with was impressive. Jim is very knowledgable and passionate about his craft. I would have paid money just to sit down with him for an hour and ask a million questions. Without a doubt Jim is the best. He works you hard, but you have fun. He will instill in you a life-long love of exercise. Jim brings out the best in people, but it is ultimately up to you to do the work. I worked with Jim for quite some time and I really miss him. But he gave me the tools for success. Better Programs...More Personal Attention...and Guaranteed Results.

The most overlooked variable is consistency. And that goes for nutrition as well as training. Without it, you're progress will be slow to minimal.

I would also recommend being in it for the long haul. This isn't a short term fix. Those with the best bodies and those that are the most fit have created habits that they sustain long-term.

Because of this, it helps to find something that you love. Without enjoying the process, it is next to impossible to stick with it. And part of my job is not only creating programs and meal plans that are not only supportive to the goals being sought, but also enjoyable.

This is going to sound cliche'...but I get to change lives.

Most people won't realize it until they experience it. But when you change your body...whey you change your health...when you change your fitness...everything else changes with it.

Just the process of eating in a more nutritious way and working out regularly will have an instant positive effect on stress relief, positive endorphins flowing through your body, and just feeling great overall. BUT when you start to make progress...when your body starts to transform...when you feel it and others see it...your confidence and self-esteem boosts dramatically. And, with that, you'll find a happiness carried through your day to day activities that you didn't have before.

This happiness, confidence, and boost in energy has a positive impact on everything that you do...and feel.

I am blessed to have made this a career for over 20 years as well as being recognized as one of the top in the industry.

You know the saying "if you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life?" Yeah...well...that's me. I love what I do so much. And because of that, I have never felt like this is a job. It's a calling. And I'm truly lucky to be doing what I am.

Honestly...I'd love to work with everyone. But unfortunately, I'm just one person. And time/availability is usually limited.

My biggest concern is that people just get moving....no matter who they choose. Now with that comes a word of caution:

The fitness industry is not regulated and it is very easy to become a personal trainer. There are great ones out there. But there are just as many average ones. And another equal group of individuals that aren't really ready to be training or just shouldn't be in this career at all. Add that up and 2/3s of the industry is average-to-poor.

Choose the 1/3 that is awesome. Choose that 1/3 that is experienced and qualified. Choose that 1/3 with a history of excellence.
