Curry on Pizza (COP) has excellent reviews so far. So I tried it. I must offer my speculation and a counterpoint. First, my impressions are that the pizzas are rather intensely spiced for a non-Indian palate. I had imagined that their curry seasoned pizzas would actually have resemblance to the Italian pizzas but they really don't. It's a beast of its own. If you are used to the intense Indian seasonings, well beyond what you might expect from mainstream Indian restaurants, then I suspect that this is spot. I love Indian food. I live Italian food. But this beast was just too much in the Indian spectrum. To accommodate someone like me, I would suggest having a chicken tikka masala type pizza with cream-based tomato sauce to make it more universally appealing. I gave it 4 stars just so I don't drag their rating down, to respect others' preferences, but for me personally, I think 2-3 stars. More...

Some of the best pizza my family and I have ever tasted. We had takeout for vegetarians and meat eaters consisting of tandoori chicken pizza, tandoori wings, a pie with half COP paneer and half COP veggie. These specialty pies don't have your typical marinara sauce, but rather a COP "special sauce" which I can best describe as a slightly tangy, but spicy chutney with a cilantro base. Green chutney, chaat and bhel lovers, you will LOVE this. The meat eaters loved the veggie pizza and the wings were delightful as well as the chicken pizza. The blue cheese dressing had real blue cheese in it! None of that fake stuff. The crusts on the pizza are somewhere between hand-tossed and deep dish and the crust was super tasty. I wouldn't change a thing about the food here. Pizzas are a little pricey (this 4 stars) if you compare to pizza chains, but this isn't a franchise and you get more than what you pay for in toppings and flavor. Will definitely be back!!! More...

My friend mentioned an "Indian Pizza" spot in the neighborhood we were about to visit and one look at the menu, I was intrigued and had to try the seemingly delicious sounding pizzas. We called in our order for pick-up, medium chicken tikka pizza and cheese sticks. Half/Half topped pies are only available for large pies. The pizza was so good. The dough is different from your traditional pizza crust, but not necessarily naan dough either. It had a light and crisp exterior with a nice chew and the chicken was perfectly moist and tender with a flavorful sauce. Definitely a solid pizza to try. And now I want to try the other toppings. As the owner suggests, they most certainly are changing up the pizza game.TLDR: This is truly a diamond in the rough. Unless you live in this area, you probably would not venture out here but you should! Ever wondered what would happen if naan met pizza? Here you go. Also - the most bangin' chicken wings. Tender eff'n supreme.Okay - one of my homeboys told me he stumbled across this place. "Imagine Indian Pizza!" is what he said. I wasn't too convinced but figured, let's try it. It's a quick drive from the Bayside area (10-12 mins). While they do serve traditional pizza (pepperoni, mushroom, sausage, etc.) the stars are the Indian-inspired pizzas. The dough as you'd guess is basically a naan flatbread with an array of different classic Indian entrees. So yes, Chicken Tikka Masala, Paneer, Saag, Butter Chicken.I've heard the vegetarian ones are really great but we've usually stuck with the chicken ones. The Butter Chicken was a bit sweet for me but we usually get the Tandoori Chicken or Chicken Tikka. A large for two with an appetizer is probably enough. If you're light eaters, a medium should be plenty. My hands down favorite thing here though are the C.O.P. Signature Wings. I can't quite figure out what the rub is but it's like a spicy garam masala and some other wonderful things. I'd guess that it's marinated in dairy based on how tender these are. They're so tender that they'll probably disintegrate on a baby's lips. Truly "fall off the bone" chicken. We usually get a large wings and share a small pizza. Followed by happy tummies and sleepy eyes.If you like Indian and savory foods, you will enjoy this place. I promise. More...

Ordered takeout from here last night and it was AMAZING. Too many options looked good and we wanted to try everything so we got 3 small pizzas: butter paneer, tandoori chicken, and chicken 65. They all had such distinct tastes and flavors although butter paneer and tandoori chicken were better than chicken 65. Got an 8 pc of the signature wings which were so spicy and delicious. The male server at the counter was somewhat inattentive and didn't help us as much with recommendations so service could've been better that way although the young woman who made and gave us our pizzas was more helpful. A very good take on the Indian pizza game. They put plenty of toppings on each pizza. You will feel full faster eating this pizza compared to other nyc style pizzas. The Indian flavors come through and are creative and tasty. I recommend also asking for some of their sauces to dip the pizza in. I got the half cop paneer and half butter paneer pizza. Both were very tasty. The only set back is that at some points the pizza felt somewhat dry because it's a thick pizza and they don't put enough sauce. Since there was 5 of us total we got a few different pies.  We had the chicken tikka, the paneer tikka and the cauliflower pizza.  They were all fantasticly superb. I really love the idea of the Indian & Italian fusion. The flavors are unique and classically Indian. My favorite is the Butter Paneer pizza. I have not tried most of their pizzas but I think the curry element is missing on some of the pizza dishes. For example, butter chicken is a classic Indian dish that is notable for its tasty gravy. Such a great twist on pizza. Who would've thought Indian food and Pizza go well together. We tried the Chicken Tikka specialty pie. A medium size was good enough for three or four people. We also got a side of Tandoori wings - I enjoyed these a lot more than regular Buffalo wings. There are no single slices and each pie is made fresh. The wait for a single pie is only a few mins. The flavor of the pie was amazing...there's a creamy sauce topped with chunky Chicken Tikka slices and a sprinkle of fresh cut parsley. The Tandoori wings were so tender...the meat falls off the bone. The dry rub is stuck on every nook and cranny of the wings, so every bit gives you a nice curry spice. We also tried their mango lassi, which is a good idea since the wings can get a bit spicy. The place wasn't so busy when we went, but it was on a cold winter day. There were a bunch of take out orders though. Definitely recommend again! More...

I found this place by word of mouth. The idea behind it is awesome! I mean who doesn't want some curry on their pizza lol. Atmosphere 5/5: This place is a similar to your average pizzeria. It isn't small but it isn't large either. I went in on a Friday night and it was empty. Service 5/5: I only eat fish so I wasn't sure which pizza to try as they mainly have options with chicken available. I originally thought the pizzas were covered in sauce of your dish choice (if I wanted buttered chicken, the pizza would have butter chicken sauce as the base) but it didn't. All the pizza slices are made with your basic cheese and pizza sauce in addition to maybe onions, cilantro and whatever else your dish came with as garnish and the meat you chose. I love butter chicken but don't eat chicken so I was hoping they could add butter chicken sauce but that isn't an option. They thoroughly explained other options such as the Gobi pizza which I ended up choosing. Food 5/5: pizzas come in 3 sizes if I remember correctly. A personal size can be good for one person. The largest size can probably feed 8 people! I was a bit shocked of how good the Gobi(cauliflower) tasted. It was fried but had so much taste ! The pizza overall was delicious, I ended up taking it home because I couldn't finish it along with some Masala fries. I also ordered Mango Lassi which tasted okay. I wish they carried other drink options though, such as chai - but then again who orders chai at a pizzeria lol. For deserts they have Mishtis such as Gulab Jaman but I wish they had rashamalai ! I would definitely return again. The staff was very pleasant and funny! Definitely a great experience. More...

I'll preface this review by saying that my 8 year old daughter and I were on the front page of The Boston Globe food section for our recipe for Indian  Nachos a few years ago.  Not just to brag lol, but to say I believe that I am super qualified to review this.Indian pizza is a thing- having been to India recently, their version of Indian flavors often includes putting baby corn or inexplicably adding Mexican flavors like "nacho pizza". Pizza Hut in England has been offering chicken tikka toppings for a long time, but it's not well integrated.  Also, it has the problem of being not great pizza.I really enjoyed our dinner at this nicer than expected pizza joint in a random (for me) part of Queens.  The address listed on yelp took us initially to a trophy store a couple blocks down and I got worried.  Use Google Maps and it will take you right there.  The place is small with perhaps 10 tables, there was a large and boisterous multigenerational desi family that added a lot of "energy" to the place. There is some interesting sculptures on the walls, it's painted in dark colors and has a nice vibe.Order at the register, the super nice front of house woman brought the pizza to us when it was ready.   We ordered three mini pies and an order of masala fries. The masala fries weren't overly spicy (which is good as I am a wimp) and had a nice sriracha mayo dipping sauce. Good flavor, but probably won't order them again unless we had a big group. We ordered a butter chicken, a chicken tikka and a saag paneer.  They were all topped with fresh red onion (perhaps a little too much to be a great date place lol).  The two chicken pizzas looked pretty identical-  the butter chicken was the right level of spice for us, the chicken tikka was too spicy for my 8 year old. The chicken tikka pizza didn't have the tikka sauce marinara as I would have expected-  but was still pretty tasty. The pizzas are freshly made and have great texture. Not overly heavy with too much cheese nor crispy or "naan pizza", this was just very decent quality NYC pizza with innovative Indian flavors as toppings. Having had a bunch of bad experiences with iconic Long Island pizza joints (Mama Theresa, Umberto's etc)-  this was a welcome surprise. It's good pizza. Didn't love the standard soda / drink selections, so we went with water. Made the 8 year old refill the water multiple times.  We were too full to try dessert, but they had some basic Indian options like galub jamun.  Love to see some dessert pizza, maybe Nutella topped with khulfi it something. Great experience and we'll definitely be back soon. Super reasonably priced for what you get. More...
