We had an amazing experience working with Colm and his team. No one wants to do extensive foundation and structural work on their home but if you have to, I don't think we would have made it through with anyone else. They were so patient with us when we had to stop or stall work to secure more financing as the scope quadrupled (again, not at all CC's doing, just old houses), and they were just so considerate and sweet as we, insanely, but out of necessity had to live on-site during the very extensive repairs. Current Construction were hired by me for a small renovation job initially. As the workmanship was so good we decided to go ahead with a bigger project that we had been putting off for some time.
I have to say from the first meeting with David and Colm we were totally assured that we had made the right decision. They worked timely, efficiently, they were puntual on delivering and their craftmanship is to be admired.
No job was too big or small and we were delighted to have come in just under budget. Our new kitchen and open space living area is more in tune now with family requirements and is frequently admired by visitors. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company for any renovations ...large or small.

We hired Current Construction to replace our deck. This also consisted of replacing a roof, support beams, reinforcing framing and a lot of other elements effectively the equivalent to an seismic retrofit. I'm currently at the tail end of our home remodel and have been extremely happy with Colm, David, and his entire crew.  Our remodel consisted of removing load-bearing walls, inserting two shear walls, installing 3 new footers that were tied into the existing foundation , installing new beams from the foundation up two levels to the ceiling that joined the new ceilings beams in the crawl space, and relocating our living room to the back of the house and move a bedroom from the back to the front of the home.  This allowed us to have an open living concept (dining room, lining room, and kitchen all in one open area) versus the cookie cutter home we had and it's been an extremely wonderful experience working with CurrentCon. I couldn't be happier with the results.  We interviewed 7 contractors for the structural aspect of the job and Colm's price was very competitive with others but it was his confidence in his work that impressed me the most.  We had plans drawn and permits pulled by a separate structural architect and he said it was a lot of work but a good contractor should get it down in 6 weeks (signing off on the permits) including the 3rd party structural inspection and Colm achieved this goal in 3.5weeks.  We ended using them for the kitchen remodel, replacing our windows, and installing hardy board siding in the entire back of the home.  Of course we were over budget because of issues that  arise when you open up walls and the previous work done was not up to code and had to be corrected, but Colm went above and beyond to try and keep the cost under control.  We've since referred him to some friends and will use his services in the future for a deck installation but we need to recover from our current remodel 1st! We needed some structural work done on our new home and were referred to Current Construction by a coworker. We called and set up an appointment and then met with David. He reviewed the plans with us, explained the process, and walked us through the building permit applications . The structural soft story plans were not intuitive to me, but David explained it in a way we could understand and within a week we had a bid. It wasn't the cheapest we received, but we felt confident with his estimate and skills.The job took a total of 6 weeks and that includes getting a new steel beam, foundation upgrade, and installation of of seismic hardware. It was fished on time and on budget, which was much appreciated. As an added benefit, their crew also kept our garage spotless. I'd definitely recommend them! More...
