Crowne Plaza Knoxville Downtown University

To be honest I am not usually a big fan of Crown Plaza hotels but the location was perfect so I decided to give it a try.I could not be happier ! The staff was amazing and never stopped impressing. They even figured out my birthday was in a couple of days and a nice card with some treats were waiting for me when o got to the room. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. It's not the newest or fanciest place but it's certainly not old and dated either. When I am back in Knoxville I will happily stay there again More...

In town for fan boy comic con. Frank and Taylor were so helpful. If you have any questions  about getting around Frank is the man he also can tell you great places to eat. Just spent two nights here. Check in took a little while, for some reason it took a while to find it. However, the lady was very nice and accommodating. We stopped here on our trip back home to Nashville from North Carolina, and we had a surprisingly amazing time. Kipsy, the bartender there, was very welcoming and a gave us a pleasant experience with her craft cocktails. That really made our night!! The hotel was beautiful with a classy, library vibe. Check was is easy and smooth. They also let us see the room before booking. The  location was also amazing, the next morning we walked downtown and explored local restaurants and shops. Rooms were clean, comfortable and functional. The room we stayed in was a king bed with recliner and desk. Mini fridge and Keurig but no microwave. The bed was really comfortable which was very important because I broke my collarbone skiing so I was having a hard time sleeping. It was a last minute stop late at night and we were very pleased!! The rating does NOT do this place justice! The hotel itself has a wonderful balance of modern, historic charm. This hotel has obviously been renovated and restored from its original bones. Gorgeous wooden stair cases and accents give this place a little something extra. *Your room-- clean with upscale amenities. A glorious little spa package will be waiting for you on the bed and it will make your entire day. If you want to stay in for the night you have a great tv selection including HBO. The room service menu is fantastic. I had a filet and it was perfection. *Customer Service-- absolute excellence. From the concierge desk to the door men to the waiting staff. The staff is diverse giving you the best of both worlds... young and fresh along with old school charm. The staff is wonderful. Mandy Perry was our everything and was amazing at all of it. She took our orders. Made our drinks. Served us our food and did it all with a brilliant attitude and charming smile. The bar was packed and she was the only one working but somehow she managed to make our night awesome. We didn't wait or want for anything. With Mandy at the helm it was smooth sailing.  I sat in the bar for over 2 hours and watched her non stop working to make everyone's night awesome. We had zero issues we checked in very late the kid at the front desk was kind recommended a place we could get food late and delivered! Room was on the smaller side but it was expected considering it was an older hotel, it was updated and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Downfall was when we left we didn't take our room key and we needed it to get out of the parking garage! lol luckily we were in a very tiny car and drove under it Anyhow if it counts for anything I travel often and I would stay here again More...

For an older hotel, this is by-far the best hotel in Knoxville. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Well maintained and clean. Accommodates our two well-behaved dogs, Rottweiler Ike and Rat Terrier Jake with gracious hospitality. Restaurant is wonderful with competent wait staff. The hotel has many wonderful amenities that I really didnt get to explore, but the room itself was probably three star. The Keurig coffee maker made cold cofee, there was no safe for our personal belongings in the room and no fan in the bathroom but the room was clean. The room service menu and restaraunt had a good variety of food. Maid service was pretty half assed but the rest of the staff was exceptional. The girls at the counters were very helpful and friendly as was our bellhop. All in all a good value for the price. More...

I stay here each time that I visit my son in Knoxville. The staff is above helpful. They make you feel like family. The rooms are gorgeous with phenomenal views! I love that you can step across the street to Market Square to enjoy tasty restaurants and entertainment. Or if you're tired from travel, room service is only a phone call away. Stayed 2 nights for my daughter’s wedding. Everyone from the concierge to the front desk to the restaurant staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful. While it is rare that I need to stay in Knoxville, I would definitely stay at the Crowne again. Room was clean and comfortable tho slightly small. Super clean rooms, nice and modern decor. Staff was super accommodating. Gave us a special veterans rate and waived the pet fee since we had evacuated for Hurricane Irma. Breakfast buffet was delicious.

A super short walk to market square, amazing restaurants, bars and breweries. Hubby had a great time exploring on his own last night trying local crafts.

I was there for an IHG class and this hotel surpassed all my expectations. From the moment I entered the front of the hotel and spoke with the gentleman doing the valet parking to the very end when I turned my room key in, I was wowed with hospitality! Each department made me feel very welcome and special. I especially enjoyed my lunch. It was top notch! The ladies in the restaurant were amazing! I actually had class with Rose, the Guest services manager and she is fantastic! This was a pleasant experience across the board! Great team work guys! Definitely would stay again! More...
