I have been doing crossfit since 2010 and I have trained at multiple different gyms throughout the Inland Empire and Temecula area. There are only two crossfit boxes that I absolutely love training at. One of those is Crossfit Kindle. The coaches here are amazing, the community is amazing, and the gym is top notch. Nolan (owner) is such a great leader and coach. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you live in or are visiting the Riverside area, this is the Crossfit box you want to train at! CrossFit Kindle has helped change my life. Owners Jenn and Nolan Gouveia have done a fantastic job of creating a culture of health and wellness that go far beyond physical fitness. I have experienced a tremendous amount of personal growth in the last 4 years of my life being a committed member of this CrossFit affiliate, particularly in the area of self-discipline. When I was diagnosed with diabetes a few years ago, this gym helped rally around me and now I am more healthy and fit than I have ever been in my life. I am so grateful for Nolan, Jenn, the rest of the coaching staff, and my fellow members for helping me along in my journey as an athlete and member of society. If you’re looking for a place that will come alongside you, befriend you, encourage you, and help you become the best version of you, then CrossFit Kindle is where you want to be! More...

We moved here from our old box in Ontario when we moved to Riverside and we could not be happier. Although we miss a lot of the peeps at the old box, we love the challenging programming and professionalism Nolan and his staff bring to each workout. Nolan is very technical and gives great feedback on olympic style lifting. I have a bad back (thinning L4 and L5), and the coaches are all aware and tailor the workout for something that I can do in the event my back is flaring up. The class sizes are just the right size (not too many people) to where you feel you're getting great feedback from the rest of the coaches. The schedule of classes works great for our schedule and we love that on Saturdays there is the barbell club for people who just want to focus on technical lifting, followed by a group class at 9am. Everyone has been very welcoming to us and friendly being from an old gym and we love our new box. Being 36, I always wonder if I have room to still learn new tricks and it was here at Crossfit Kindle that I was able to get my first strict pull-ups. Must be the programming (combined with the dedication)! More...

Fitness can be intimidating, but these guys make it welcoming and fun without giving up expertise or intensity. I can tend to nerd out on things and fitness is no exception. That being said, I love their approach to programming. They are informed and knowledgable while being approachable. They have the art of programming down: it's challenging and produces results, and doesn't just beat you up randomly. It's encouraging to work out with an encouraging community of people with a wide range of athletic ability. And, you don't lose the feeling of having individual attention during a group class. Last class, Coach Jenn kept pushing me (calling me out ) and wouldn't let me slack. Sometimes you need encouragement, sometimes you need a push. From the staff to the members, it's great to show up to a place where you're known and know you'll work hard. More...

I've been a member here for about 5 months now and have thoroughly enjoyed it thus far! The owners (Coach Nolan and Coach Jen) and their staff are super attentive and pay a great attention to detail. There's a great warm feeling amongst the coaches and members. I really appreciate that the coaches are big on form and technique, considering what we put our bodies through. We didn't know what to expect when moving from Ontario to Riverside, but super thankful we found a new box that has welcomed us in and adopted us into their family. More...

I've said it once. I'll continue to say it. If you are in the Riverside area, this is the box for you!! The programming is challenging. The equipment is top notch. The facility is spacious. The FitAid is cold. Besides all that, the most important thing you need to know about is the people that make up the Kindle community. The coaches' talent is matched by their care for each athlete! That care is carried over to each athlete's support for one another! I've been to other boxes. This box is actually one of the strongest, most welcoming communities of athletes in the area. No matter your skill or athleticism, you will find a cheering section behind you each WOD that you grind through! If you are curious about Crossfit, visit Kindle. If you are looking to pursue your fitness goals, visit Kindle. If you're a veteran of functional fitness, visit Kindle! You'll find yourself challenged not only physically, but relationally, emotionally, and mentally! More...

Crossfit Kindle is the best! We searched for a while for a good place to try out, and based on the reviews, we decided on this place. So glad we did. Coach Nolan is the man, and he and his awesome wife/business partner bring in only great people into their gym. On top of that, dudes a beast! There's never an awkward feeling, or any judgment if you cant lift a certain weight. Coach Dustin and coach Sarah are awesome too and take the time to actually show you the right form instead of letting you sink. Positive vibes and killer workouts will keep me coming back. Highly recommend. More...

Coaches are all the nicest, most respectful people you will meet. No matter what your skill level is, they will work with you to make sure you are pushing yourself and getting the most out of every workout. All the members are super friendly and supportive as well. When you're working out, you don't feel like anyone else is watching and judging you, unlike a typical gym atmosphere. Even in just a few months I was starting to see progress; every workout requires you to push yourself harder than you probably would working out on your own. Had to leave because of school, but I would have stayed in Riverside just to stay at Crossfit Kindle if I could have, no joke. You will not regret leaving your current gym and switching to CFK! I walked in pretty apprehensive a couple of years ago. I was immediately greeted by a coach and put at ease. He took the time to answer all of my questions and I decided to give it a try. Two years later I can't imagine working out anywhere else. The coaches are superb and always take the time to explain every movement. And the encouragement from coaches and fellow athletes alike will make you feel right at home. I am in better shape now at 47 than I was at 27 and I have CrossFit Kindle to thank for that! More...

Decided to join crossfit after my best friend suggested it. I figured it be would a nice change of pace considering I was starting to become restless and unmotivated of the same solo workouts at LA Fitness and I was also going through a transition of school and starting my teaching career. Joining Kindle has been one of the best decisions I have made because of the community of athletes and coaches. Everyone there is incredibly friendly and supportive. Everyday is a challenge and you will get pushed to your limits. The coaches won't let you give anything but your best effort and they truly care about your progress. I love being able to go in after a day of being in a classroom to work out with good and supportive people. The challenge of the wods have strengthened me physically and mentally. Sometimes it can really be the highlight of my day. If you're looking for a change, community, and challenge, this is the place to go. More...

I had taken some time off from Crossfit. Life got busy. I told myself I'd just go back to your traditional gym although every time I thought about it I dreaded it. I didn't dread because of the workout or because I didn't want to stay fit it just wasn't the same. I discovered Crossfit Kindle was literally right across the street from my job. I thought no way! I went to check it out on my lunch break and was greeted by the owner/ coach Nolan. He was very professional and inviting. He spoke highly of his wife and coaches in their experience with Crossfit. I was eager to get started and began that very next day! Now a year later I'm so much stronger and fit than I was! Nolan was spot on about his coaches!  I've learned something from each and everyone one of them. The coaches really take the time to get to know you, know your goals along with your strengths and weaknesses. In Crossfit there is no such thing as quitting! No one will allow you to quit no matter how tired you are. If you're struggling with mobility, technique or strength there is always a modification. Athletes are coaches are a huge inspiration! Every day our workouts are posted and I have to look no matter if I know it is going to be brutal! When I finish the workout....there is this feeling of accomplishment and happiness! Crossfit Kindle is amazing! The coaches are awesome! They are knowledgeable, they train safely and are absolutely thee most encouraging! Coach Nolan's programming is amazing! More...

Each and every one of the coaches is terrific. As someone who spent about 2 years in Crossfit prior to moving to Riverside, I knew exactly what I wanted in a gym: amazing staff who actually care about /each/ individual athlete, and a community of amazing and inspiring people. They have both of those things at Crossfit Kindle. I seriously love them all (from the coaches to the other athletes). They are encouraging, always giving me advice to make me better, but never making me feel bad about where I need to improve. It's funny, I can be super negative about where I am at. I try not to be, but it's hard sometimes. Especially when 55lbs feels the way 95 lbs did at one time. But every day I come in, and I know the second that I start working out, that I am going to make some sort of accomplishment. Maybe it is getting out of my head on a box jump, or stringing together 50 doubleunders. Last week? It was realizing that I /am/ strong enough to do my pull-ups. Some days? It is just getting to the gym.So, even when I have a bad workout, I can't help but see the good. My first week another member had said to me while I was running, "It is so easy to see the negative. As humans we are naturally programmed to do that, but if I can just see one positive in a workout, I feel like I have accomplished something." I try to remember this every day, and hope that I will as I continue on in my fitness journey. This is a new leaf for me where my workouts are concerned, but it reignites this fire that I once had for Crossfit. For those of you brand new to the sport, this avenue of working out, or working out at all: Crossfit Kindle is a gym that works with all fitness levels, and actually cares to make you better even when you think you can't. My husband MADE me join, actually made is not the correct word he FORCED me into joining, I didn't want anything to do with it since I thought I knew what cross fit was about since I tried it before (3days/another box)so I went to see and meet a coach since I wanted to know what I was getting into (mainly looking for a flaw so I could have an excuse and not go) Dustin one of the coaches was there and greeted me and listen to how much I didn't want any of it but HAD to join, later Nolan the owner joined the conversation both made me feel comfortable and since they offer a free class they advise me to come, so I did and it was fun, to be honest I didn't care for it for the first 3-4 weeks but now I crave it. ... Coaches give you the attention you need always helping and encouraging to keep going. Husband says I lost weight, I personally don't see it but I do see changes in my body...... My husband doesn't know how grateful I am he FORCED me into this....lol More...

CrossFit Kindle has definitely been a life-changer for me.  While I grew up playing sports, by no means would I consider myself a strong athlete. Two kids later, I was feeling like I was needing to do something for myself, physically and mentally.  After a friend convinced me to join her for a free trial class, I nearly backed out; I was extremely timid about taking the leap of faith and walking through Kindle's doors. Thankfully, the moment I did, I knew I'd never turn back. The warm smiles, the patient coaching, and the never-ending support from others has made Kindle feel like a second home for me over the past four months. I have pushed myself further than I ever would have imagined all while coaches and other athletes cheer with genuine enthusiasm. Thank you for taking away my feeling of fear and replacing it with strength and accountability! More...

This place is amazing! I went as a sort of challenge, not really sure I wanted or needed something like this. Now I'm wondering why I didn't try this sooner. ONE workout here is like two weeks worth with my former trainer. The coaches are the best...knowledgeable and attentive. They are very good about making sure you're using proper form so you don't get hurt and get the most out of your time here. Also, the people that work out here are all so welcoming and encouraging. I've never seen that at a regular gym. At my old place I had worked out one day and ran into a friend afterward that said, "You worked out? Where's the sweat?" Nobody will ask you that after you work out here. Come see. Get it done! More...

The environment is encouraging yet drives you to get the best results.Even thinking a little bit about joining CrossFit? Awesome! They offer a free class on Saturdays at 10:00a. That's right a FREE class for anyone who wants to try it out!!!! My challenge to you.... Have the courage to show up for just one Saturday and I promise you will NOT regret it. Where's the 6 star option! !!  But seriously,  not feeling confident about myself and not into the gym scene I decided to try crossfit. So I found myself walking into Crossfit Kindle all alone,  when I was immediate greeted by Nolan (the owner) and his wife Jen. Being a girl myself I immediate felt comfortable. Over the next few weeks I was taught the basics and became more and more comfortable. Nolan coached me in such a way that I always wanted to do more and try harder without feeling the pressure of a normal gym trainer. Everyone must try.  Gym is also clean and taken care of. It's new equipment   thank you! !! More...
