This was a pretty awesome experience. I had bad cramping in my neck, and they were able to fit me in same day. My massage was fantastic. .. James loosened all the areas related to my neck first, and then went to work on the problem itself. I left feeling much, much better. My visits to health professionals are infrequent at best, and viewed as a stand-alone visit this was top notch, but I was super impressed by the results, and am inclined to go again, and perhaps even again. He extended a new client discount to me, which was a nice gesture, and they accept credit cards, even AMEX. The facility was immaculate, and beautifully decorated in a rustic, but clean-lined style. The ambient music - which I never really love - was unobtrusive, and absolutely quiet enough to ignore. Registration was on line, so I didn't have to show up early, and all in all, I am really glad I went. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, inured or not. I was gifted a Groupon for a 60-minute massage my birthday to Creative Wellness, and it was by far the best business I've found through Groupon and the best massage I've ever had! The space is calming, has a communal-yoga-studio meets Newbury-St-spa-amenities vibe to it. My masseuse, Joanne, was very thoughtful, articulate in explaining her approach and asking questions about my goals for the session, and worked wonders on my shoulders. I have been going to get a massage with Minden for a few years now. I never would have thought I would spend money each month to get a massage, but now I can't imagine not getting a monthly massage because of how great this place is. She is amazing at what she does! She takes the time to get to know you. I have seen great improvements in the tension in my muscles each time I visit. She has learned what works for my body and adjusted each month. I've had several massages with James now, and so far each and every one has been amazing. His calm and kind manners create a very welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, and he always makes sure to check in with me. I mostly prefer therapeutic massages, and he definitely knows his stuff! Jim feels like he's dancing on your body! But he leans into spots that are tight and works until they release. He surprises you with little moves that seem new and give a fresh feel to each massage. A tightness that wouldn't allow my arm to move straight up is now loose and I can raise my arm right over my head. PT didn't help but massage did! I give him a 5! More...

I was lucky enough to get a gift card for a 90 minute deep tissue massage at Creative Wellness. Everything about my experience was great, from the initial phone call with Jess to set up the appointment to the actual massage to the follow-up. On top of that, they fit me in on a Sunday afternoon! I was in the middle of moving from my apartment in Brookline to Somerville and was a bit stressed. My dear friend gave me a spa finder gift certificate for a 1-hour massage so I searched for a participating spa nearby and stumbled on Creative Wellness right down the street. All I can say is that after my 1-hour massage with Emily, I was even more sad about moving from Brookline because this was one of the best massages I've ever had.I felt truly taken care of and pampered with Emily. When I've had massages before, I've always asked for medium pressure, however I've always asked that they don't massage my legs since I'm a runner and I never stretch so they're a bit tight and are sensitive to pressure (yes, I know I should stretch). However, Emily asked if I would like light pressure on my legs with medium pressure on my back, shoulders and neck. That was the ticket! It had never occurred to me to ask for two different levels of pressure for different body areas. I was so comfortable and relaxed the whole time, I almost fell asleep. Both Jim and Minden are excellent as my back is always better after getting treated with a massage.  I've had a history of back issues going back over 20 years having to deal with a herniated disc.  Going to the doctor is useless as they refuse MRI's and they like to solve the problem with giving pain killers and physical therapy without the therapist being able to look at an MRI chart to see what exactly is going on.  Since coming to Creative Wellness Strategies for less than a year my back has improved a thousand times but still at times when am doing physical activity will hurt it and I understand it will never be as good as new.  However, the service provided is well worth the investment in my health.  The set up is completely awesome with homemade artistic furniture it feels like am in another land far away from New England in a complete peaceful state.  Even when people are feeling well, they should treat themselves by a visit to this wonderful service. I've known Minden for about 6 years and she is a truly phenomenal person as well as healer and bodyworker. I had the pleasure of receiving a hot stone massage from her husband, Jim, yesterday and it's not an exaggeration to say I felt more relaxed afterwards than I have all year. I can't say enough good things about Creative Wellness. I have been suffering with a back in spasm. They were able to get me in right away. My therapist took his time to get to know what my problem was and assessed the best way to treat it. I was obviously looking for more of a therapeutic massage then a relaxing massage and thats exactly what I got. I have no doubt that he could also do a relaxing massage, but it is far harder to find someone who really knows anatomy and can correctly address muscular problems. I left feeling so much better then when I arrived!! I have had a second appointment and was equally impressed as after my first appointment. For my third appointment I had to cancel just under the 24 hour cancelation policy, but they were understanding and didn't charge me, something I really appreciated. I have to say, this place probably has the best massage I've ever experienced. I am very very particular w/ massage, it never feels good and I always feel sore after. I talked to Minden about some of my issues and she worked with me to tailor the massage to my needs. I very much appreciate it because sometimes massage therapists just think 'more massage' is better. Minden is very good at listening and making it about the person and not about her skills. And she got the skills, there is no question. I am definitely no longer shopping around for a massage therapist, as Minden and staff are exceptionally skilled and seem to work levels up from your regular massage place. Highly recommend. More...

Meghan was great! She made sure I had a chance to speak about any issues or preferences I had before the massage, and then handled them perfectly. She checked in to make sure the pressure was ok (it was perfect) and worked her magic. She paid attention to everything, head to toe, and I definitely recommend! Hands down (no pun intended!) Minden is just. the. best. If I'm away and have a credit to a spa or get a gift certificate, I use them for wraps, scrubs, facials. .. anything but a massage because it would not compare to Minden's amazingness. I have referred so many of my students, clients, friends (and would send my family to her if they lived closer!) because I believe in her skills as a massage therapist, bodyworker, and healer. My husband and I visited Creative Wellness last Thursday. What a treat! The space is beautiful - real oasis right in Coolidge Corner! When you walk in you can almost feel the stress of your day drift away.

My husband saw Emily and he said she was fantastic. He's been seeing a physical therapist for some foot pain he's been experiencing and afterwards he was in no pain! He said she spent a lot of time working his hips and legs, go figure! Either way his feet (and the rest of him) for the first time in months, were completely pain free.

I was scheduled with Minden at the same time and wow. What an amazing massage, she really knows how to get in there and work the knots out.

This is the 3rd time I've visited Creative Wellness as I travel to the Brookline area quite frequently for work. The last time I saw Meghan - and afterwards I could feel the results for days. It felt amazing.

I don't know what it is, but they have it! I don't think you can get a bad massage there. The beautiful space, wonderful and experienced therapists and automatic addition of hot towels and essential oils just make it an wonderul experience. More...
