About

I would say that what makes my service stand out is my commitment to developing my clients' toolkits for lifelong fitness: I wouldn't just give you a workout program to do without explaining the reasoning behind it --- unless you want me to :D.

Q&As

Signing up for "personal" training means signing up for a program that is personalized to the student. When you sign up with me, you can expect our first session -and even parts of our first few sessions- to be based on assessing where you currently are:

Do you have any muscular compensations that are altering or limiting your movement patterns?

What are your current limits in balance, stabilization, work capacity, strength, and power?

If you're interested in weightloss or weight gain, what are your current measurements? What is your weight and what is your body composition? (bodyfat percentage compared to lean muscle).

What are your goals? Is it to gain strength? Mobility? Flexibility? Coordination? Tone or lose weight?

As we collect answers to these questions, we can begin to build an exercise program that is specifically tailored to you, and this is what makes personal training different from most group fitness or online training programs. Personalizing a fitness program helps us to better understand how and how far we can push you in order to achieve results the exact results you are looking for in a manner that is not only time efficient, but lasting.

The secret to getting the body of your dreams is knowing how to track progress.

Once you can track, then you can make sure that you are progressing every day without a doubt.

Answering this question - "What do I enjoy about the work I do" - will do a good job of also answering "How does my service stand out?"

Training, in my experience, has never JUST been about achieving fitness goals. The road to 'personal' fitness and the reasons one may start walking it are just that: deeply and profoundly personal. While a new client may come to me looking for help with fitness goals, I've always been amazed by what their journeys reveal:

Every one of us is capable of doing the work that we need to do, but our paths are often clouded. Each time I join an individual on his or her journey, I am privileged to be at their side as they make discoveries within the fog.

What will they discover has been standing in their way? What will they do after this discovery? What will they ultimately decide is truly important to them, and why?

What will I learn along the way?

I feel profoundly lucky to have the knowledge and skills to aid others attain better health for themselves, but luckier still to have this window into other's lives. I believe that, ultimately, what stands out about the service I provide is the commitment that follows this insight: I'll stick with you to find the answers you need to find and the truths that can help all of us lead healthier, happier lives.

Services

Through individualized assessment, I provide my clients with exercise programs tailored specifically to their goals and lifestyles.

As a certified Nutrition Coach, I help my clients to navigate the often overwhelming subjects of 'healthy' eating and supplementation.

As a corrective exercise specialist, I assess each client's movement and postural patterns in order to identify over-or-under-active muscles that may be leading to altered movement mechanics or even pain. With this type of information, I am able to select exercise progressions that will correct these imbalances and lead to higher levels of functional fitness.
