I was fortunate to be introduced to Jim Pitcher (CRC Builders Inc) in 2012 by a neighbor.
In 2012-2013 CRC carried out extensive modifications to my home, reworking the ineffective/missing waterproof flashings on both upper floor logias,the surrounds of two large windows above the house main entry door and the complete replacement of a surface drain on a large travertine tiled terrace.
. . Work on the logias involved temporarily removing and replacing cast concrete balustrades/piers and pillars and opening the tiled decks. Source of the leakages into the rooms below was found to be inadequate flashings. On completion of this repair extensive work CRC employees put the logias back in perfect watertight and visual condition.
Jim Pitcher himself opened the interior ceilings and walls, replaced the damaged sheet rock. CRC then painted the interior walls and re-stuccoed the exterior walls to match the undamaged parts.
The leaking surface drain was replaced in its entirety. The travertine tiles in way of the drain were removed and replaced on completion of the work. Jim Pitcher worked with me in designing a two tier surface drain and personally designed and installed piping from the drain to route the water into an existing subsoil drainage system. On completion of this project the area matched the existing undisturbed surrounds
Since this major work I have employed CRC to:-
Re-grout the master bath shower
Remove the existing (leaking) chimney cap. Found the remodellers had actually driven nails thru the "waterproof" pan. CRC then installed a new support structure for a custom copper cap and supervised the crane lift and installation of the large copper cap.
Latest CRC project on my home was, in 2017, to completely rework the flashings between all vertical stuccoed walls and the travertine terrace and both logia decks.
After 8+ years of watching small wet patches on the interior ceilings and walls of my home CRC Builders have reworked the shoddy workmanship of the remodelling contractor's subs and I now have a tight, leakproof, home.

I had a flood in my house back in Novermber. It was a mess. The water was in my kitchen, family room, dining room, living room and hallway. I call the insurance me a number to call to have someone to come and clean it up.. After that I had to find a conractor and I wanted someone reliable and some that I could trust since I am a ingle woman and did not know what to do. I called friends of mind and out of about fifteen friends CRC name came up as being the best in Solano county. Imean at least 12 people out of fifteen mention them.I called, they came out and gave me an estimate I talked to the insurance company, they wanted me to used one of their people and I said no. They gave me a hard time and I think it was because I AM SINGLE ND THEY THOUGHT I DID NOT KNOW WHAT I WERE DOING. Jim and his secretary Melissa helped me through this. I though I were going to have to come up with money out of my pocket. Thank to them I did no come out of my pocket and all the work got done. They had to gut nearly my hold house. It took about 3 to 4 weeks to complete the job . My house came out wonderful. The worker were wonderful. What I really like about the company is that they made a video that I could see each that the work that were being completed . They had before and after pictures of each room as it was being done. THEY TOOK ME SHOPPING for my hold kitchen and all my floors. I can say the owner Jim has good taste. He helped me pick out the cabinets ,glass title , countertop ands floors."""""""""" So when I got home I could check and see how much was done. The projected was completed before the due date and the budget did not go over, not one dime. We have worked with Jim on many projects over the past 15+ years and we have always been very happy. This latest project was our second kitchen remodel and it turned out wonderful. CRC was very easy to work with and everything went very well. They were neat, nice, and open to making and taking suggestions when plans and the real world didn't cooperate. Hiring CRC Builders was the best decision possible for us! They have held our hand every step of the way when we found ourselves in a nightmare situation: .
..where we needed to rip the entire side of our house off and to then rebuild it, and with a 20-40 foot drop down to the sloped hillside! They have been on time, accurate, and easy to work with at all times! Jim and his whole crew have always been responsive when we have had questions, and they have even come out to help us at 9pm when an unexpected wind storm caused problems with us temporarily having no walls on one side of the house.
We are in the final stage of completing the project, and we are already asking Jim to quote us on our next remodeling project - it is a big relief when you finally know that you are in great hands!

Last winter a motorist lost control of their vehicle and drove through our commercial building, causing significant damage to the building. It was recommended to me to get 3 estimates before choosing a contractor to do the work. I actually talked to several contractors and received 4 estimates. Of all of them I was most impressed by the quote we got from CRC builders. It was a long detailed form and Jim Pitcher delivered it to us in person and went over every item. I knew he had put a great deal of care into making sure this quote was accurate and thorough. The other quotes I received were sent to me by mail or email and only one person called to see if I had received the quote over a week after sending it. We were impressed by the estimation process so we chose to use CRC Builders to do the work. The work got underway very quickly and I was delighted that the work crew was tidy and did not interfere with our normal work day. I was able to stay open for business during the repairs and not once did I have to worry about a construction mess. The guys cleaned up after every work day. I can promise you with drywall, framing, spraying texture and paint there was a lot of potential for the work site to be a mess but it never was. CRC Builders handled all of the inspections with the city and it did not take any of my time to get the permits or get them signed off. Overall we are very happy with the entire process from the estimation, to how quickly the work was done and the quality of the repairs made. We used CRC Builders for a recent kitchen, bath and bedroom addition in Napa. Jim was excellent. A lot of this work was ad hoc (that is designed as we went). Jim was incredibly patient, helpful, and very flexible with the designs and their implementation. Although his team did most of the work, he subbed electrical, AC and plumbing and a few other tasks. All bids for these subs were transparent and we feel we received excellent value from CRC as well as the subs. He has a great personality as well, honest, knowledgeable, very calm and thoughtful and an instant communicator on text or email. We were away for most of the construction, so he sent detailed weekly summaries and always was available to talk on the phone. The construction site was always clean and his men showed up on time for full days of work. He made the timeline we agreed to at the beginning of the contract and the budget was also met. Jim Pitcher is amazing.
My wife is an NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Association) member and works with Contractors every day.
We live on the Central Coast of California and interviewed Jim as a part of a major remodel project we planned for our home. We also met with 3 other Contractors with whom my wife had extensive dealings.
After months of work and interviews with several of Jim's clients, he was our hands down choice to tackle our project. It became unimportant that he is some distance away from us. He is very professional and knowledgeable and made us very comfortable in his abilities. What put us over the top though, was conversations we had with his clients. They LOVE him and had nothing but great things to say about him and his crew.
Unfortunately, we were forced to postpone our project but when we decide to finally move forward, Jim will be our first phone call.

Wonderful experience! They were so professional and polite. Jim came out to give us an estimate the day after we contacted the company, got back to me quickly with a quote and started the remodel within two weeks. The crew was always on time, very clean and respectful of my children's space and completed the project on time. When we had a hiccup with a tile mis-match (due to tile company, not CRC) they took it out and re-tiled and still finished on time. We completely remodeled one bathroom and tiled the floor of another bathroom and laundry room. Great results! I would use them again if I need another remodel job. More...
