Crave Real Burgers - Castle Rock

This place is phenomenal! We were in town for a tournament and found this place on yelp. The service was extraordinary but the food was out of this world. We had the Love Stinks and the Colorado burger both AMAZING!  The lamb in the Colorado melted in your mouth and the toppings they put on them are mind blowing how well they go together!  We will be back 100% when we visit the Springs! While visiting Castle Rock this evening I decided to try out this establishment and I'm glad I did!  It was very busy and the noise level was above average.  When walking inside a nice young man greeted me and asked if I would be ordering out or dining in.  He made arrangements to seat me at a bar top in front of the kitchen area where the burgers are made.  It took a while for someone to take my order.  A nice young lady waited on me and was offered to break down the menu by highlighting various burgers along with making good recommendations.  I ordered a buffalo burger with fries and an Elvis milkshake (peanut butter, bananas, pecans and bacon).  The milkshake was great!  I also enjoyed my buffalo burger!  It was cooked to perfection!  They offer two types of ways to cook your burger, pink or no pink.  I recommend this establishment to anyone wanting a good quality burger with various types of yummy milkshakes.  You won't be disappointed! 10 stars!! All four of us were miserable when we left. The portions were more the we could finish, and I visited with three very healthy, very hungry men. We ordered cheese curds (obviously hand made), the Fatty Melt, Sin City, Colorado, Love Stinks with a side of green chilies & pulled pork fries (almost made myself sick trying to finish these).  Oh!! I was really bummed out to find out their Denver and Highlands Ranch locations closed down, but the drive to Castle Rock was worth it. My girlfriend and I drove up for a late lunch and introduced her to the most amazing burgers in Colorado. We ordered cheese curds as appetizers; the cheese had the perfect consistency, it wasn't oily or runny. I ordered the Flaming Tiki burger, it comes with grilled pineapple and peppers which had an amazing flavor combo of sweet and spicy. We used to love Crave in Castle Rock but tonight we went there with my wife's mom and had a bad experience.  She is handicapped and is on oxygen so it is an event to go out to eat. We've been telling her how great the place was so she decided to go tonight. When we got there and she was almost seated the waiter came over to tell us they were closed because they were slow that night. It was 7pm and the place was half full, plus it looked like they had a full staff! I told him we came there for a special event for her and he just said that we could order to go. I asked if we could just stay and order to eat there but he refused and said "we're closed".  I told him we'd never be back. Then as we were leaving another family was entering and we told them that the place was closed because their business was slow that night, they didn't like it either and left. I told the waiter he had more people who wanted to eat there but he didn't seem interested. I can't believe the poor customer service and am wondering if the owner knew his staff was lazy and would rather close than stay to serve people who are repeat customers. This rating is heavily based off the person who was willing to help us with our to go order. It is our first time here and we were very exited. We have been told by many that it is a great burger joint. Unfortunately our first experience was not that great. We were greeted by the host and we was willing to help but was trying to get someone to do the order for us. He asked a few people and they said they could not. We waited a few and No one came up to us. The girl who was doing the to go food when we ask rather have Micheal take the order. Micheal by far was the best experience we had. He was willing to explain our option and we really just a great guy. He was the only one willing to help us with our order. First time trying Crave.  Came because we heard it was one of the top burger places.  Our first concern was we asked to sit away from people because of covid and there was no one in the store.  But the host kept seating new guests right next to us. Which isn't a huge deal so we moved to the empty bar.  What gave this review two stars down was they have an open kitchen where you can see the chefs cooking your food.  When we moved the bar the grill master was talking on his phone over the grill without any gloves on and then didn't wash his hands when he got off his phone.  We both have worked in this industry for 10 plus years and Covid or no covid, this is the most unsanitary thing you can do.  Also when we moved, the servers didn't wipe down the table we were at and promptly sat another group there.  We both tried the Love Stinks which had a delicious flavor profile but it wasn't very warm for how quickly we were served.  Good service for what it was. We just moved to Castle Rock six months ago so we are still getting settled, into a new house, new neighborhood, new bars and restaurants. I love a good burger. Correction, I LOVE a good burger. Sorry for raising my voice but I do like burgers, a lot.So, I am always on the hunt for a really great burger. Castle Rock recently celebrated Burger Week and I thought, wow, we moved to a great place. So, when looking for a new lunch spot recently, we stumbled on Crave (Real Burgers). The sign outside says, "Colorado's Best Gourmet Burgers". Ok. I say, those are bold words, let's do this!There is an inside dining room and an outside enclosed patio with heaters. The outside patio looked inviting, but we chose an inside table. There are no frills here, the ambiance is sports bar meets fast food restaurant. But they have table service. We were greeted by a nice server who told us about the special milkshake--a "Sweet Mama Marshie" that has sweet potato tater tots mixed in.  Hmmm, feeling bold, I said ok! My husband ordered a "Love Stinks" burger and I ordered a "Krusty". I didn't think it was possible, but they made burgers amazing. I've had a few really good burgers in my life but the ones we had today (Ohana and Krusty) were, simply put, outstanding! Wow... so glad we came here!!! A local first responder recommended Craves to us if we wanted a great burger! Well we decided to grab a burger for lunch before one of our meetings. At first we didn't think the place was open because it's entrance is actually between buildings rather then facing a parking lot.   But we were persistent and eventually found the entrance. Once inside we were seated by a welcoming young man who recommended his favorite burger as well as a another burger that was a favorite of other customers. Love sticks & the camp fire, so we decided to get one of each and have them cut the burgers in half so that we could try out each burger We ask for the burger to be pink vs done as recommended. The Love Stinks... wow!!! So juicy and delicious!!  This burger is packed with flavor from the Garlic cream cheese, onion strings, candied bacon, roasted red pepper, to the garlic mayo and ketchup sauce. OMG... The Campfire... this was my favorite. If you want a good burger this is the place to go. They don't do reservations! We had a party of 4 on a Friday evening and we're seated inside right away. They have out door seating as well. We first tried the Wisconsin cheese curds and the green chili over fries. The cheese curds melted in your mouth. The last time I had Cheese curbs this good was in Northern Wisconsin. The Green Chilli fries were different but very good. We tried 3 burgers from there selection. The Cubano which we shared, the Fatty and the oooooooo. The Cubano was the best in my opinion. It was big and the flavors just explode in your mouth. It's alittle spicy too . I think the hot dog overwhelms the experience alittle. Next time I'll order without the hot dog. The other sandwiches were also great. Did I mention their serice was great and fast. We're from Chicago so we're use to waiting forever for our food. I have been coming here for years and brought my 14 month old mini golden doodle before . She is my emotional support dog and I was told she was not welcome .  She is extremely well behaved and just sits under my table . Interesting I have been coming here for years and have been bringing my Golden doodle puppy here and never had a problem . She is an emotional support dog and is well behaved. She is only 17 lbs and I always take her with me to shop at castle rock and then going to Crave afterwards . Today I was told that she is not welcome here . They just lost a good customer as I will not be back here again . It’s their loss as there are many restaurants that allow emotional support dogs . It’s your loss.

Before an afternoon of outlet shopping we wanted to grab some lunch in the area and crave popped up on my yelp search. The resturant was easy to find and I went in to put my name on the list (party of 6). For a Sunday around noon our wait was about 10-15 minutes. We were sat inside at a large table and immediately greeted by our server to get out drink orders and gave us some recommendations after asking if we had been there before. We ordered 2 krusty's, 1 sin city, 1 plain Jane & 2 kids sliders. Onion rings and fries. The burgers were good but not amazing in my opinion.
