Our puppy went to puppy kindergarten here and it was a great experience for both her and her owners. She learned a lot. We are already loyal to another vet in our area but Country View has been extremely helpful to us in raising our dog.

The bond I had with my cat Willie was unbreakable. When he became gravely ill last April, the entire Country View staff stepped up to do everything they could to help save him. Willie was very young and was a fighter, thanks to the care and compassion he received, he made a recovery. Unfortunately, Willie’s good health didn’t last long and he fought a lengthy battle until he had no more fight left in him. Willie recently passed away and had it not been for the staff at Country View, I’m not sure how I would have made it through one of the worst days of my life. Dr. Olson was his primary Veterinary and she loved him and tried every trick up her sleeve to save him. I'm very happy that I have chosen CVVS to take care of my cats! They have a beautiful, clean facility, convenient appointment times, and friendly, caring staff. They even have a nice "low stress" waiting area for cats! One of my cats passed away in February due to unexpected complications after a routine procedure. As events were unfolding, Dr. Kasten and her crew did a fantastic job of doing absolutely everything they could for her, and also facilitated after-hours emergency care (including transport) at no additional cost to me. They were also very thorough in talking through what happened and coordinating with pet memorial services for my kitty's cremation. In this "freak accident" situation, CVVS went way above and beyond anything I could have expected and made a heartbreaking time much easier to handle. My newest cat recently needed referring to a specialist, and CVVS did a great job of connecting me with the right people to take that on. I continue to trust CVVS with my pets and always will. I took my cat here for a UTI after not being able to get in to my normal vet for another week. Dr. Leigh Kasten was great and helped us with the UTI. When troubles returned she gave us another suggestion and was dedicated to working thru my cats health issue and finding a solution. I will be bringing both my cats here from now on. The timeliness at which they were able to help was a huge plus, especially when I needed to get my cat in to be spayed. I always get terrible separation anxiety when I travel away from my kitty. In the past few years, I had boarded him at aunt B’s (too far, he gets car sick), tried to find friends who might just “stop in” to check on him (what if something goes wrong and no one is there? He is obscenely mischevious...), and nearly sent him to a different boarding place only to find out via reviews that they were definitely not a sanitary option. I will never board Juju anywhere other than Country View. While I’m certain he probably adjusts well to boarding, (cats are quite resilient little monsters), I am a total helicopter cat mom and country view goes above and beyond in putting my mind at ease and making sure my little guy is well looked after. As far as boarding goes, a vet may not seem like an obvious choice, but I can guarantee that these guys are the best in the Madison/Oregon/Fitchburg area. I have never been disappointed and I can travel easy knowing Jupiter will be played with and cuddled every day on a one-on-one basis. Don’t be fooled by the somewhat basic setup: I would rather have my cat doted on, kept clean and healthy, and given daily love in a marginally smaller place than trust a big kennel or daycare with cement floors and too many animals to give your pet the time they deserve. I even debated whether leaving a review was a good idea because, well, I’m selfish and I like to know there will always be an available spot for my fur baby, but country view deserves the recognition for doing such an outstanding job every time. I have a very fearful and reactive dog, Buddy, who is terrified of people and won't let anyone get near him except me. Yesterday, I had to take Buddy to see Dr. Kasten for an ear infection. They had a room waiting for us so Buddy didn't have to wait in the lobby or in the car while his stress increases. The tech came in quickly to take a swab from Buddy's ear. He wasn't going to allow that to happen. Instead of getting frustrated or forcing the issue (Buddy was muzzled), the tech left the room so Buddy could calm down and let me get the swab at Buddy's pace which I was able to do. Dr. Kasten offered to show me how to clean his ear out and administer the meds myself so Buddy wouldn't be stressed and more importantly, recognizing that forcing Buddy will set him back in his training. This alleviates some stress for me knowing no one is going to force him or me to do anything we're not comfortable doing and also not judging me negatively. Country View also has behavioral appointments where you bring your dog in for nothing more than treats from a tech and/or a vet, at your dog's pace, to help him overcome his fears. This is my 3rd review of Country View Vet!  So rare that I'd take the time to opine a third time about a business, but the people at CV are so caring and kind, it's prompted me to give props once again. Our cat, Norm, got very sick around holidays.  Finally took him in a couple days after Christmas, fearing the worst.  Not only was the clinic able to make time right away, they were patient and accommodating when we were late for our appt and were nothing but kind and friendly with us upon arrival.Medical history and symptoms gathered by the tech were beyond thorough.  It's clear that the clinicians at CV are truly committed to healing animals.I think what I love the most about this clinic, is the respectful and reasonable attitude that the staff have when reviewing options with pet owners.  Not everyone has the resources (or interest) in preserving their pet's life at any cost.  CV gets this and takes time to reciprocally discuss options, costs, and prognoses.It's possibly one of the most inconvenient geographic locations for me, but that's inconsequential to having found excellent veterinary care.  If there is ever a time one needs compassion and kindness, it's with an ill pet.PS, Norm had made a good recovery! I never took my dog here before but they were able to squeeze him into their completely full schedule because they were concerned. And they figured out everything and now he is 100x better. After a long wait, an appointment double-booking mishap on CV's end, and a stalemate response to a discount request for these inconveniences, I was contacted by a managing partner of the clinic and given a generous discount to make up for all the aforementioned errs. My dog has been seen by Country View for over 9 years. I'm glad to keep a life-long relationship going with this veterinary clinic. I recommend Dr. Gunby from this clinic as well; he always answers my questions thoroughly, and seems to guess my next question before I ask it. More...

I am very picky about my vets and have been to many in the past, having one appointment and never going back. I have been going to this place since I moved back to Madison and it is amazing. The staff is caring and thorough. One of my cats suddenly got extremely ill at the age of 9 and ended up passing away from brain/jaw/ear cancer a few months later. The staff was with me every step of the way and were very compassionate, honest, and supportive through the process. The vets helped me make sure my cat was comfortable during her final months and were always there when I needed medicine for her or had a question. When the time came Dr. Gunby came to my house to put her down and actually cried with me. He said the most important thing I needed to hear at that point which was, "You are doing the right thing." I moved further away since then. It was very difficult for me to take my other cats back to that clinic for awhile because I was flooded with memories of all the appointments when my cat was ill. I would cry in the parking lot and want to leave. The staff even recognized this and remembered my cat and would ask how I was doing. I now continue to make the trek to Country View every time one of my pets needs something because I like the place and people THAT much. I would recommend it to anyone. Sometimes you have to wait a bit, but it is always worth it! They are truly a gem! More...

I took my cat here because he was loosing weight and turned out he was diabetic. They made sure I knew everything I could to know about this and when the time came to put him down I had the most amazing experience. They made sure I had enough time with him and made sure to rush us in a room as soon as we walked in the door so everyone in the waiting room didn't have to deal with a sobbing pet owner.
