Gretchen is amazing. She is the rare combination of a visionary creative and also a detail-oriented project manager. She quickly understood our style and all of her recommendations were perfect for us yet things we wouldn't have thought of ourselves. Seeing her social media it is clear that she understands and caters to a wide variety of tastes for different clients, which is so wonderful. She does everything too - design, handiwork, project management...she is exceptional at design and has an amazing eye, but also isn't afraid to get her hands dirty and dig in where needed. Her service provider contacts were all phenomenal as well - you can see she has built great relationships with her go-to people. I followed Gretchen on Facebook before I went into her shop to meet her. I loved everything she was posting so I felt she was a designer I could connect with. I love the eclecticness in her personality and variety in design. She's so authentic in herself that I knew I could tell her exactly what I wanted and she would listen, but I allowed her to guide me in the decision process. She gives solid advice, not based on what she likes per se but what make sense and why you should pick one thing over another. She has so much experience I knew she had seen and done it all! My bathroom layout didn't change but the entire area was renovated in keeping with a timeless, classic design. My goal was a bathroom that would appeal to anyone. I couldn't imagine working with anyone else other Gretchen Dockendorff from Core Interior Design!
She has truly made my house a HOME that I love waking up to every single day. Every turn in my house evokes a beautiful memory! She has helped pick out paint colors, wallpaper, window drapes and shades along with hanging lots of picture collages that I absolutely love. She has also helped with the furniture layout of different rooms in my house as well as designed our entire master bedroom, which is now a relaxing retreat. Last but not least, she helped with custom rugs for the entry way of our home as well as runner that go all the way up and downstairs. This is the area I was struggling with the most as I couldn't figure out what kind of rug was beautiful but also functional when you live in a place like we do with all the seasons of the year. She pulled it all together and have loved working with this beautiful soul for the past few years. Now we are on to the basement for something a little more funky!
