Connected in Community

About

Connected in Community is a mental health and wellness practice found by Charla Yearwood in 2020. The organization was born out of a desire to help marginalized communities process and heal from trauma and oppression. What makes Connected in Community special, and unlike other therapy practices, is that it is built to provide a safe and comfortable environment for Black, Queer, and social justice-minded people of Indiana to grieve, celebrate, and heal despite the unhealthy systems we live in. The staff uses a blend of traditional psychotherapy informed by Critical Race Theory, Feminism, Abolition, and other liberation-centered ideas to guide their work.
