What a find! The seasoned papitas are worth the trip on their own. Fresh hot REAL food that is delivered both friendly and professionally. Took a trip around the block to find-but am I glad I did!  One word of caution... be brave and famished before attempting the Grande Breakfast Burrito. So good you have to actively push away from it before you go into a food coma. Highly recommended. More...

We used Conchita's Cafe to cater our HR workshop for 35 people. Kristina came with everything needed to feed and serve everyone. The food was amazing and got rave reviews from all the attendees. I am super impressed and would use them again for sure! Loved that I got to support this family business. Thank you Kristina for your help and amazing customer service. More...

Conchita's, you spoiled me the other morning!  My to-go container was packed full of yumminess! This was the second time I came in for the Power Up Bowl, to-go. Egg whites, spinach, black beans, turkey bacon, avocado, corn and bell pepper. I loved it last week, and this week, I asked for extra turkey bacon. I was so full. Fredo (the cafe manager), was awesome and I asked him to charge me for a large to-go cup so I could fill it up with their grapefruit-infused water. He said I didn't need to pay for it - thanks, Fredo!Conchita's Cafe is a hidden gem in the Simms Building courtyard downtown (Gold and 4th).  They have a big menu and vibrant dining area (Dia de Los Muertos theme, bright colors and table covers) - I am going to make it a goal this summer to branch out and try their other menu items, as well as take the time to dine-in. I've been meaning to try this for some time after reading all the reviews and talking to some other people. I finally made the trip and it was great! I've gone twice and both visits were fantastic. Amazing service, the staff is great! Even during the lunch hour my order is out quick. Both times I had tacos. I ordered a chicken and an abuela's (beef) taco. They were both filled to the top with meat and all the fixings. Well seasoned and delicious!I've also tried the calabacitas tacos. They're pricier than the meat tacos but worth the price. They come on flour tortillas and green Chile. They also have some good drinks, I love the watermelon agua Fresca. It's blended and tasty!  They also have Italian sodas and coffee. The salsa is also amazing! I love some heat and this definitely delivers. They make it in house and it's some of the best salsa I've had at any restaurant. The environment is also really cool.  Very colorful with a Dia de los Muertos theme. They have some really cool art on the walls from local artists. More...

The decor was so funky and colorful I had to take several pictures. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere at least on weekday mornings is quiet. I love their morning burrito and coffee special (~$3.50)... it was perfect to take Togo and eat on the train to Santa Fe. If you check in on yelp you can also get a $1 off. Also their smoothie of the day is just whatever they have that day and mine was delicious (and it had spinach so I felt a lil healthy). In the 3 days I've been in ABQ it's become my breakfast go to when I'm walking to the train station. More...

OH MY GOODNESS! SOOOOO SPICY!! I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon and it came with red and green Chile, eggs, potatoes, lettuce, tomatoes, all the goodies! It was crazy hot but really good and hot! I'm glad I found it because now I have a new place close to work that's had good food and at reasonable prices! The space is very unique. It felt like I was transported to Playa to one of the cafes we went to in Mexico. I wish I would've taken a picture of the artwork, it was awesome! They also have daily specials and I'll include a picture of these! My only issue is that I placed my order on grub hub at 10:20am to be ready for pick up at 11:40. However, it wasn't ready till 11:48.  Normally I wouldn't mind waiting but I have a  very short lunch . I'm not sure why the delay but since it was really good I think next time I'll call in so it's ready by when I arrive. My breakfast burrito was delicious and I hope next time I can actually dine in at the cafe! More...

I just know this will become a lunchtime favorite. And I must add that Gold Ave downtown is quietly becoming a food lover's string of pearls. ...Prices are more than reasonable. Space is unique and thoughtfully laid out with awesome artwork. I love places that you wouldn't know existed unless someone told you. And then looking around and finding it, or stumbling upon it by chance... Well, it promotes happiness. I tried the green chile meatball sub. Wow! A nice manageable size for lunch to keep you from an afternoon food coma. The meatballs were tasty and stuffed onto a bed of cheese and encased in a soft hero. Salsa and chips on the side with lettuce and tomato. All very good! Plus, if you sit at the window you can slyly smile at the huffers and puffers at the next door gym while you slowly savor the taste.I highly recommend this great lunch spot! More...

I have meetings near this precious cafe all the time and finally went in today. They had plenty of seating and the decor was awesomely New Mexican with its  Dia de los Muertos flair. The food was great, I got their green chile turkey croissant and it was delicious along with the chips and salsa. The food also came out super fast which leads me to why I give it 4 stars. My friends and I went at lunch and being that this cafe is in an office building you would expect a little more staffing for the lunch rush. Our waitress seemed a bit exhausted and was constantly ringing people up and then serving food. Another waitress came on towards the end but it was still noticeable how overwhelmed the first girl was. But over all i was very impressed and will definitely go back. More...

This was my first visit to Conchita's Cafe after walking past it numerous times in what I believe is about 1 year they have been at this location. I've worked in the downtown area for about 10 years and have witnessed numerous restaurants come and go from this tucked away location. After reading the decent reviews and seeing a number of my staff return to the office with food from here, I decided to give it a try. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised that the location is well organized and clean. The colorfully covered tables were set waiting for customers to order at the counter and take a seat. There were a handful of guests but it did appear that many patrons likely do takeout as this location is surrounded by office buildings. Anyhow, Conchita's has a daily special as noted by their sign leading you into the courtyard entrance. In this restaurant you order at the counter. I asked the very nice lady at the counter what she recommended and she did suggest the Friday Special which was the New Mexico Frito Pie. Being in NM for this long I have always enjoyed a good Frito Pie and this was close to what I would call traditional. The New Mexico Frito Pie is a slight deviation (in my opinion) as the meat they top it with apparently contains potatoes. I was also very pleased with the reasonable prices on the menu and the $6 price of the daily special. What I consider very reasonable for lunch. When my food arrived, it was a decent size portion and appealing to the eye. Melted cheese, meat on top of corn chips, classic comfort food. At first I felt there was not enough red chile as some may expect, but as I dig into it, the chile was spicy and was adequate for my portion. It was good, classic and satisfying for lunch. As I ate alone I was also quite happy that the lady sitting at the table next to me, who seemed to be a regular struck up a very nice conversation with me, adding to the personal experience. I enjoyed my first visit here. Simple, quality foood at a decent price. I will return and I encourage you to give this place a try if you find yourself on Gold St. in the downtown area. More...

My boyfriend and I vacationed in New Mexico last week and started our journey in Albuquerque. We crashed for the night since we had a pretty late flight in. On Thursday, November 3rd we decided to give Conchita's Cafe a try.Since I'm vegan, I was a little picky with my food. I ordered the calabacitas tacos sans cheese and my boyfriend ordered the French toast. The tacos came with squash, corn, and onions and were so flavorful! So much so that I'll be trying my best to recreate these at home! My boyfriend's serving was massive and according to him, delicious. We would definitely recommend trying this place. The prices are pretty fare and the place was empty when we visited. My only negatives were that my tacos were served with Mission tortilla chips and prefab tortillas that can both be bought at a grocery store.Still delicious and will definitely be back on our next trip towards Albuquerque.
