It's a black level, open 24hrs. Lots of amenities, classes, and students. Gets a little crowded at 7pm but other than that it's my favorite gym and my happy place. Volleyball court, indoor basketball, tennis, outdoor volleyball, steam rooms/wet sauna and dry sauna in both men and women's locker rooms, self- locking lockers and towels! Plus they have sleeping rooms! It's wonderful. More...

Very nice gym for its size. It is obvious this location caters to the medical park, because it is open 24/7 and shares its parking with the adjacent medical center during normal weekday business hours. After normal business hours there is a small parking lot in front and street parking across the street by the VA center. There are plenty of cardio machines upstairs, with two to ten of each type of treadmill, stair stepper, bike, or elliptical. Downstairs there is one of each weight machine and five stations for dumbbells. There might be some wait time for the machines during peak hours. The basketball court has plenty of equipment for multiple shoot-arounds. Outside there is a pool, a 1/2-mile track, and some softball and soccer fields. Most of the staff is friendly. The facility is very clean. More...

For a Black level gym I expected more equipment (decent amount of equipment at this location), but everything else such as the clean environment, steam rooms, towels, sleep lounges, and other accommodations you would expect, its great!

This is a very nice facility and always kept clean. They have a bunk room in the locker room area if you are needing to catch a nap in between classes.

Although the gym is smaller than most other black level Gold's Gyms, it still has a ton of facilities and resources to use. There is a sleeping room for the weary, and the restroom is fully stocked with clean towels, hair dryers, bath items, and even razors. The equipment is very up to date, and I enjoyed using some new machines and watching my favorite shows from my personal TV. Would definitely come here again to work out. More...

This gym is more expensive than the other God's, but it's very nice. Always clean, not overcrowded, cool temps, and plenty of stationary equipment. Televisions are attached to each stationary device and you can watch your choice. The dressing rooms and showers are nice where shampoos and wash gels are available as well as hairdryers. The outdoor pool is rarely used but laned for speed swimming. A small hottub is also available outside. There are a variety of group classes available but not many times to choose from...enough. No classes on Sundays. The free weights are plentiful and a basketball court is present...indoors. Coffee is served each a.m. and a nice lounge are inside and out. One of the best parts about this gym is the 1/2 mile track right outside for run/walk. It's safe to walk even late at night. A volleyball court and tennis courts as well as bbq equipment I believe belong to the UT health science center and not sure how to reserve. There are also team sports outside....baseball, soccer....agaon, not sure how to reserve. The beauty of this space is that it's family oriented...you see it well used and many age groups. To have the wonderful gym...right there... is an awesome experience. I would have given 5 stars but parking is inconvenient. Limited Gold's parking, but you can park freely at the UTHSC after 3 p.m. I believe. I love this gym. It's well worth the money!!! More...

I have to highly recommend this gym to all my peers and friends. I originally signed up at this gym 3 years ago and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life for many reasons. 1. It’s easily the nicest Gold’s gym I’ve been too. The machines are always clean, the wipes are always stocked, the locker room never has thrash lying around, there’s plenty of machines and usually never have to wait for something to be open. They have great amenities like a heated pool, indoor basketball court, and both a sauna and steam room. 2. The staff members are great. Although signing up 3 years ago, I’ve only ever been as serious about the gym as I am now for about a year now. In this year, I feel as though I’ve bonded with all the staff. They greet me every day, some even know when I’m late for my classes!! They hype me up after a work out and it’s extremely encouraging. The janitorial staff are very responsive and work to make sure towels are always available. There is always someone in the locker room collecting thrash or used towels. The trainers are very encouraging and will explain how to use the equipment very thoroughly and will show you correct form regardless if you’ve signed up for a class or not. 3. This is probably the most important reason why I recommend this gym. For a year, I have been working with Gus in a group setting class and it has been easily, the best thing for me. I am excited to go to the gym every day because I’ve bonded with people who have the same goals, same aspirations, and same determination as me. These people that I interact with are people I consider family. We have developed relationships outside of the gym and it’s such a wonderful time together. We build eachother up and encourage eachother to push harder. We see each others progress and that in itself is encouraging to do better the next time. I was initially worried that during a group setting, I wouldn’t be focused on as there would be many more people to keep an eye on but Gus manages spectacularly. I’ve never felt left out or shunned for my abilities but encouraged to get better. Not only does he explain himself well, but he gives you the breakdown of what exactly the workout does for our bodies in ways for us to understand. He gives us nutritional facts and helps with meal planning and suggests different tactics of eating depending on our goals and body types. He acknowledges our problem areas for each individual and ensure we focus on that during recovery days. His workouts are very exciting and different from time to time so we’re not always stuck in the same routine. All this being said, I feel the need to point out the results I’m seeing having been in this class. I have seen a huge difference in my body and I CAN NOT EXPRESS HOW HAPPY I AM. It’s an incredible feeling living such a healthy lifestyle and remembering how you *used* to live. Eating right has never been so easy with out Gus’s meal planning tips. Sure I throw in some cheat days but the results speak for them self. Attending the gym 5 days a week and not once ever feeling reluctant to is such a game changer. It only promotes more *gains* because when I don’t show up, I’m upset about it and I do everything I can so that I can make the classes. And although Gus may be my main trainer, the other trainers are just as great as him. They all really seem to get a kick out of seeing the determination on people’s faces. They love their jobs and the people they work with and it’s easy to see that. This is the first review I’ve ever made for any business but this is also the first time I’ve ever felt compelled to leave a review to express how wonderful a business is. I encourage you to check this gym out. Highly recommend. More...

I used to live in NYC and was a member of the equinox gym franchise for five years. Moving here, I have been looking for a gym on the same level: this location has the same level of customer care, amenities, cleanliness and quality in equipment and variety, and more at a fraction of the price I was paying. I gave this gym a 5 based mainly on my amazing trainer, Gus!!! He is an exceptional addition to the Gold’s team! I am an avid runner and I was prepping for my first ultramarathon (55k-34. 1miles). I had the running part down, but I wanted more strength and agility because it was a trail run in Page, Arizona. Gus prepped me so well and I finished strong-I can’t thank him enough for his knowledge and support. I highly recommend him!! Thanks Gus for everything! Now onto our next ultra! More...

Very clean facilities with polite front desk workers and instructors. I personally recommend their 3D body-scan which is complimentary for the first time to all members. With the hourly group classes, instructors can be hit or miss. I took one class where the instructor was incredibly amicable, always cracking jokes and getting to know her students and another which favored only "elite" students while being condescending to everyone else. Definitely take your time sampling different classes in the first week to see which instructors you get along best with. Considering the class I went to today, they will have a trainer for everyone. Mine just happens to not be the strict, no-cool-down, glare-at-you kind. No thank you. However, I do believe some people enjoy and even respect this sort of instructor, so not not knocking it. Get to know what kind of athlete you are and plan accordingly!

Love the diversity of classes, and I will be a consistent member. The facilities contain an outdoor pool, two levels of equipment (bottom being mostly strength and upper mostly cardio), a basketball gym, shower/sauna area, and two studios along the side. Calm, open place to work out.

Q&As

The secret to the body of your dreams consists of 4 Equal Factors branching into many smaller details. For sake of time, I'll break it down.

a. Resistance Exercise 25%
b. Nutrition 25%
c. Cardiovascular Exercise 25%
d. Sleep & Recovery 25%

Each of these factors when "programmed" to your individual needs will be the difference between you reaching a goal... and making an achievement.

When an exercise is done too much or too little, when you "cheat" rather than "eat" mindfully, when you don't have parameters to keep your body working hard consistently while maintaining a maintainable, efficient, progressive program in both cardiovascular and muscular fitness. You CAN reach a goal but you won't be assured an achievement.

I love to see clients progress from believing they can't achieve something to becoming what they thought was once unachievable.
