Amanda is my dream trainer, coach, mentor, and friend; I pinch myself after every session I get to work with her. She helped me get my first German Shepherd to BH level even when coming to her with conflict and little drive. Now she is helping me on my own IPO journey with a new female-- zero conflict and great relationship from the beginning. If anyone is pondering where to take their dog for training, whether it be for beginning training, problem dog or advanced training look no further.
She is a very a knowledgeable and professional trainer. I have first hand experience with Amanda and her knowledge of dogs. She took my male from a dog who had no desire to work to one that will give you what he has. I would not make a 4 hour drive one way for anything less. Her instruction with my 9 month old female is also amazing.
Plus if you are looking for someone to handle your dog in confirmation you have Grace Van Dyke. She handled both of my German Shepherds and did an outstanding job.

AMANDA DOES NOT: cut down other trainers to try to make herself look better, use harsh, unfair and abusive methods for training dogs, or brag about her accomplishments even though they are ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE.
AMANDA DOES: get to know you and your dog, help you achieve and exceed your goals no matter what they might be, provide excellent training for you and your dog no matter what breed your dog is or your experience level, introduce you to the sport, basic obedience, covering not only the three phases of IPO from fun to top competition level but also important items like trial prep and sportsmanship, or helping you train your dog to be the best well mannered companion possible.

From "problem" dogs to beginning training with puppies you CANNOT go wrong with Amanda Homan of Complete Canine. I recommend her to anyone. She is professional and truly has a passion for what she does. What sets Amanda apart from other trainers is her knowledge not only of dog training but of various dog breeds, and dog health and behavior. Amanda is the real deal in dog training. I've owned Australian Cattle Dogs nearly my entire adult life. They are a remarkably obedient and loyal breed and have definitely been some of my very best friends in this life; however, during times of high drive they can be more than a bit tricky keep under control. With Champ, my most recent ACD, I called on Amanda with her expertise to help me fine tune his obedience training for a fail safe, and obedient dog even during the most challenging situations. She came to my farm and worked with us consistently for a week to lay the foundation for advanced obedience in Champ. Now, I can take the reins and follow through with his training with a clear plan to keep improving. Amanda not only has the experience and knowledge to train the dogs, but she clearly articulates the necessary concepts to the owners and makes it make sense so that you can keep the training going when you're on your own. I initially went to Amanda for help with my IPO tracking and then it progressed to free shaping and bedience. Words can not express how pleased I am with the training. There is no conflict and solid forward steps. When we hit a roadblock she is able to suggest many different alternatives to get the desired result. My dog is a happy willing partner with a very solid foundation. When we add new components to the training there is no stress and results come quickly. I would definitely recommed Amanda to anyone that wants a willing, obedient partner on the other end of the leash. More...

Amanda is a fantastic trainer; I am so thankful for the time, care, and thought that she put into our sessions. I came to her with a moderate behavioral problem that was growing in my young dog, Scout, and Amanda provided me with tools to maintain and improve said behavior.
Amanda also helped me hone Scout's obedience and found ways to challenge his mind in fun ways.
It's clear by Amanda's success in training her own dogs that she has great knowledge and passion about what she does. This knowledge would not be transferable to the average dog owner without Amanda's ability to communicate well with people, not just their pets. The confidence in the connection I had with my dog was not only restored but improved. Scout and I are now a happier and more relaxed duo, Thanks Amanda!
