We started with the shrimp appetizer which was good. My son had a beef soup and it was simply great not sure of the name. I had the filet with shrimp and it was one of the best I have had anywhere . Everything from the service to the food was excellent. Small place but a must try for sure. We have been wanting to try it for months just never got around to going. We recently moved back to Starkville, and upon arriving I was informed that dining here was a must. My fiancé and I enjoyed the best meal I have had too recent memory. My fiancé had the shrimp and grits and I enjoyed the special which was a duck breast accompanied by a delicious corn and carrot side, as well as, a wonderful lemon/poppyseed rice. Both dishes were of the freshest quality and made with care and attention to detail. The staff is excellent and executed everything to perfection. I cannot wait to eat there again! An unexpected delight! While looking for a lunch spot when passing through town, we happened upon Commodore Bobs online, and it looked like a place we wanted to try. Our GPS took us down a small cobble stone street that looked more like analley. The restaurant was tiny, yet we received a BIG welcome. The staff was super friendly and the food was the BEST surprise of all. Every bite was delicious. If you go, don't forget desert. Oh, and the cocktails! Innovative, interesting, and soooo good! I had a great experience at this restaurant. Everything is made fresh in with love and care. I ordered the tomato soup appetizer and it pleasantly came with a grilled cheese. For dinner, I had a curry fried chicken with the falafel waffle. I had an chocolate devil's food cake with  rice crispy milk and blueberry ice cream. The cake was not quite as moist as I prefer, but the ice cream was amazing. The owner was also the bartender and he took great care and you can tell that his was a labor of love. My only downside would be that the bar is located right by the front door, along with the kitchen. In the south,  this is conducive to flies and other bugs. Absoulty amazing, everything was deliocus and service was great. We had the bruschetta, grilled ceaser, braised meat which was Cornish hen with blueberry bbq sauce, the lobster and shrimp Mac, the new york strip, and the Commodores chicken.

So I wanted take a few co-workers out for dinner and looked up on my favorite little site Yelp!! These reviews met every expectation of what we wanted. Chef Caleb and his crew killed it. We sat at the bar so I can socialize with the team-- love doing this. Even being in the industry I still enjoy watching others dance to get the food out. The bartender was on point and by the end of the night I just let them pick the drinks. Did not disappoint, the flavors, the artistry that goes into it was absolutely amazing. Watching him really get into the drinks was awesome. He knew his stuff. We had a charcuterie board, buffalo dip, caprese pastry. These apps made me debate on getting entrees or just continue running through the apps. I got the opportunity (cause I'm a loud mouth) to ask Chef some questions. There was braised meat on the menu and i asked about this. It was rabbit or duck this night. I opted to give it a go and go for the rabbit. It was call of the bone good. My co-worker had a special trigger fish. We shared even though I didn't want to give any up, I just wanted to steal his and eat mine. We went for Brunch today. Â Cannot say enough good things about Commodore Bob's. Â The brunch menu was great. Â Our omelets were enormous. Â The Eggs Benedict was delicious. Â Also had Chicken and Waffles and French Toast at our table. Â The service was superb! Â Our server, Josh, was outstanding and made sure our food was prepared just the way we requested. Â Our party of five ranged in age from 23 to 77. Â The booth was very large and unbelievably comfortable. Â The oldest member in our party stated it was the best booth she had ever sat in.
