Ahh this review is long overdue.I used to work about a 1 min walk away from this place. I've been here since before they've done the remodel. Before the remodel Service was a tad bit on the harsh side. The food was good for a quick lunch! I do like the fact that you can text in your order. After the remodel not sure if they changed staff but it seems to have been a much better experience. More...

Very nice people.  Great service.  Great prices . Very good home cooked food.  A couple of suggestions.  Clean up the tables, the maple syrup containers ((one given me stuck to my hands) and turn on the heat.  I am last one to complain of the cold.  I love it cool.  But place was way too cold.  Building needs an arctic entry.  But I love local folks who cook great food and are ever so nice. A little attention to detail, wiping bottles, serve warm syrup etc... and 5 stars!! More...

I came in here, because of my assignment up north. I was too early  for an assignment. So I found this little gem!The place is tuck away, behind the bank. I came by on foot, it might be easily missed if you are driving.I came in when they were just preparing their opening. But the lasting aroma existed with their bake yummies.I order a lunch dish. The woman behind the counter was quickly put in my order and cooked my dishes. When my dishes arrived, she warn me the dish is pipping hot and should handle with caution. Appreciative of her forewarning. The dish smell heavenly ~~!! More...

This is one of the three cafes near work in Torrey pines. We came over for lunch on Friday. The cafe is open and fresh. The feel of this cafe was much nicer than the chef's cafe we normally go to because there's plants decorations and such. The cashier was very nice. She let us use the yelp coupon without any problem. We put in our orders and she gave us one of the those timer things to tell us when our food is ready. The tables there were the 4-person square tables. We had a group of 9. It was a little hard to move tables around to accommodate our group because there were people sitting by themselves in different corners. In this case, Chef's cafe win because chef's cafe has very long tables. We ended up taking two tables by the front door. Another group of 6 or 7 was doing the same across from us too.My friends ordered the greek wrap with fries,a chicken salad, some sort of burger. I ordered the Acai bowl. The chicken salad looked very good! But the greek wrap looked kinda small and sad. The fries they made were thick cut fries. I liked it. It's got some McDonald fries quality in it. My Acai bowl came in a nice Togo container. It has blueberry, some kinda oatmeal, strawberry. It didn't have banana but the whole thing filled me up. It's pretty good if you don't want actual food for lunch lol. More...

Consistently perfect!  I order catering and lunches from Daniel at Come on In at least once a week it seems. I order from anywhere from 2 people to 20 people and every single time the food is amazing and they always deliver on time which is so helpful when you are ordering for big meetings to stay on time.  The delivery drivers are always so nice and helpful. I have tried several things on the menu, here are some of my favorite.  Tuna Salad Sandwich, brownies, Palmito Salad with poached chicken, Arugula Salad with Poached Chicken, Beet and Quinoa Salad.  Every time I order from them all the guests have been happy and the employees here love when I order from Come on In.  HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Meh.....I only come here because I work around here and the other food places had terrible reviews. 1st visit was whack! The guy was chit chatting for a good minute with the previous customer before me and didn't even acknowledge me! When he FINALLY took my order it took them about 15 minutes to give me my food. I only had 10 minutes to eat my food and I only work like 30 seconds away but it was a pretty good sandwich. 2nd and most recent visit was pretty good! They same guy started up a chat with me when I asked about the chorizo. ( which is on their paper menu but they DO NOT HAVE!! ) but he then forgot what I ordered but I guess overall good customer service and reasonable prices for breakfast items.  I'll be coming back only because it's close. So come on in and give it a try! It's taken me a lot of self control to not waltz over there every day since I work right next door. The super friendly staff and convenient location if you're in the area makes up for the pricier menu.Other foods that i've tried: The hot version of the avalanche is called Milky Way, also very good. Also currently very happy with my turkey and Brie croissant. Chorizo breakfast burrito is a very filling option for those of you who enjoys a richer breakfast (before 11am). I eat here all the time and have tried pretty much everything on the menu, so I feel obligated to write a more fair review, considering the only other review was written by someone who hasn't tried their menu items. ..This place is not overpriced and it's ridiculous to say they are trying to leech money off of patients.  As you might be able to gather from their name, this is a CAFE.  They don't serve cheap hospital cafeteria food (you can get this across the way at Thornton Hospital).  It's a cafe, with cafe prices.  The daily value meal is a great deal, as well. The wait is what you would expect from a cafe that puts your order together when you order it.  Wait in line isn't usually very long and the staff are always very friendly, even when they're slammed at lunchtime.I love their paninis and the wraps and make sure you check out the daily specials.  The pasta specials are always fantastic, my favorite is the tequila lime chicken fettucini (It's just like what you get at CPK, only cheaper).  Portions are good, and if they have any brownies left, they are oh-so delicious.  But if I'm in line behind you and there's only one brownie left, do a fellow yelper a favor and leave it for me!  ;-) More...
