We always drove by this place and mentioned how it used to be a willie jewels (which me and my husband aren't a fan of) and decided to come in and check it out one day! First off the way you place an order inside is awesome. Love that there are so many options and you get time to look it over by yourself and mark your menu. Second the food was sooo good. Everything was cooked perfectly. The fries kind of remind me of tattooed moose fries (my fav) the burgers are just enough so we don't leave feeling bloated. The shakes are also good. They offer pretzels as well and many diff options for fries but I haven't tried those yet. The inside is pretty nice and has always been clean and the location is great. So i was going to my first App State game (go neers!) and i wasnt too familiar with Boone so i put up a post on Facebook and it was unanimous that i had to try the Come Back Shack. They were packed as they always are on the inside and the outside eating areas, as well as the drive through. It was referred to me by a physical therapist, so I thought I'd try it. I was told that it was a little expensive, but that it was so worth it, and that it was always packed. It's a little different kind of place. You can stand in line to order your food, or you can fill out your own order form, but then you have to fill out a separate order form for each person ordering. They are famous for their burgers, and yes they are very good. They are unique as well, for example they have a FGT burger. which is a cheese burger with fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese on it. It sounds a little out there, but it is really good if you like fried green tomatoes and piminto cheese. However they have all the tradition burgers as well, you can also have it made your way. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Boone NC.
