Wedding Photography
Bob and Vikki were a pleasure to work with. They really helped 'save the day' in every sense of the phrase! Long story short, my fiance (now husband) is Active Duty Air Force and he was not allowed to leave his duty station in Alaska due to COVID restrictions, which canceled our CA wedding plans in May. A few months later, a new Commander came aboard in his squadron, and as God would have it, we re-submitted the request with an Oregon destination this time (to avoid the high-COVID-cases issue in CA) and he was granted leave at the last possible moment! We eloped to Crater Lake National Park in Oregon with our immediate families and my big dog, but had trouble finding a photographer who could accommodate us on such short-notice. I literally called Bob at Colony One the day before our wedding. He was so kind and understanding, and after hearing our story, offered to do the shoot. He took all our preferences to heart and guided me through a virtual run-through of the day over the phone since we had no time for rehearsals in person. On the day of, he and his dear wife (also his photography partner) braved the volcanic sands of Crater Lake and took gorgeous photos of us on our special day. They were even so kind to my dog, a pitbull (which isn't usually the reception he gets from others)! My husband and I are so happy to have these pictures to look back on forever. Bob had everything edited in a week and his work was so reasonably-priced. I would recommend Colony One any day. Thank you Bob and Vikki for memories that will last a lifetime. You guys came in clutch for us - God bless you! More...
What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Chemistry with the subject and sufficient technical knowledge to overcome challenges of lighting, composition and so forth. Most of all, understanding what the client wants.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I usually have a discussion about the intent of the photos, and ask if the client has seen examples of other work they’d like to emulate. Ideas about location, and deadlines.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the creative aspect of photography, and I love the interactions with clients. I enjoy solving problems.
Why should our clients choose you?
I provide quality photos at a reasonable price. I am reliable and deliver images at the agreed-to timeframe.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I have all my vaccinations, and wear a mask when working close to the client.
